The pub is beautiful and cosy, the landlady was kind and cheerful and the food.....oh god, the food! We both had a starter of pigeon, not something you usually see on a pub menu and it was superbly cooked and tasted amazing. For my main I chose the steak burger with chips and onion rings, the burger was big, flavoursome and juicy and the touch I like is that the tomato ketchup on table was all homemade, not from a bottle! We will certainly come back to this awesome place if we are ever near the area again because it was outstanding!!

For my main course I choose sea bass which I was disappointed to find was about 2 inches square. However the price did not reflect this. On receipt of the bill I commented on the size of the fish only to be informed I will pass this information on to the Chef I know in after thouight I should have paid what I felt was a fair price, but I was taken back by the lack of customer service and the brazen attitude. Unfortunately it just means I will not be revisiting, unless I hear that there has been a change in the value of Castles Inn menu.
