This was my first time here and I thought the food was pretty good. Popped over after visiting the driving range across the street, and was super surprised by how many deals there were. I'll definitely be adding this to my rotation for a solid happy hour or quick bite out.

The wings were really good and so were the fries. We also got two different drinks and they were perfect. I wish the bar had more TVs in there because it's a sports bar but overall it was a great atmosphere with good service!

Overall really good experience! The food was good and the drinks were delicious. I'm a bit of an introvert at times so the ambiance was a little much at times (not the place for a chill/quiet night out) but since we were there trying to have a good time celebrating a birthday, it was a fitting environment for the occasion! Even with the size of the crowd the service was timely and efficient as well. Would definitely recommend and am very likely to come back if in the area again.

OMG! I love a good hole in the wall! The food was slamming! Spicy mango habanero sauce was great on everything! Getting it on your wings and shrimp is a must!!! And the pork skins! I thought I was home in Texas for a minute! Drinks were FIRE! Get a screaming orgy! The music was great! Crowd had good energy too! It was supposed to be karaoke night, but the DJ never really called anybody up to sing. That's why I gave this place 4 stars! This was a really fun night tho!

Food was good. Although I don't like huge wings. Upon arrival, we were ID'd and pat down. Once inside, we stood there a while being ignored. We were only approached cause she needed something in our area. After five minutes of being watched standing she said it was open seating. Service after that was cool. Very nice waiter. Ambiance was okay. Almost $100 for 10 wings, fries. & 2 alcoholic drinks. Birthday dinner was okay other than that.

This place has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It is not that the waiters here are horrible. It just looks like they are permanently under staffed. All night, this one waiter was running around trying to service everyone. This place has some very good food specials and drink specials. I was able to order a 64oz pitcher for a very good price. They have a ton of beer on tap. I heard that the cocktails are very strong also. My friends ordered wings, steak, and burgers and they all thought the food was good. It took a long time to get any of the TVs changed to the correct sporting event, get refills, or even get our food.

overall the review here to me can't be that long. Thirsty is a place you can get reasonably priced drinks all day anyway and from 3-7 they have a happy hour. They have a pretty long menu of things you can get but there's certain things I obviously would just not get here. They are nachos, wings, and quesadillas are pretty good and to me on the safe side. I wouldn't venture out until like the seafood section of things or anything that's looking to be a lot more expensive. The waitress I had was really nice and they usually always are the couple of times I've been here other than that it's a cool spot to go just to drink and eat.

Strawberry daiquiri for $8. Minimal alcohol included.

This was a really neat experience. Soccer was playing, I was the only one dining there for lunch,…read moreand they came out to enjoy it with me. This is one of the reasons why I love small local businesses and I hope they do well for their dinner hours. The prices are a couple dollars more than their current Yelp menu listing, but the portions are generous. Sorry I didn't take menu photos, too hungry. Chicken Momo Chili - This came out still crackling which I thought was awesome. Not so awesome when it stopped crackling and I tried to eat one and the temperature of it made my eyes water. Haha, so the sweet spot seemed to be about 12 minutes after it came out to me, then it was still hot but cool enough to eat. It was seasoned well, medium spice, mixed with veggies, and had a nice crispiness to it. Pork Momo Jhol - This was a bit spicier than the Chili style but I still wouldn't call it hot. These dumplings came in a flavorful soup/broth and I used it to dip some of my Garlic Naan in as well. My favorite? That's a hard choice but I'm going to say the Chili style. There were about 10 of each and I have to say about 20 was quite a bit for one person to eat. It's hard to order just one thing but I'd recommend something small like the Garlic Naan if you're going to get a momo dish as well. Or take some away for later or bring a dining companion! The Mango Lassi had a bit more of a mango flavor to it than the one I had at my last Nepalese Restaurant in Colorado, still delicious enough for me to want 2, just mentioning because it was a difference. Parking is plentiful, you can park by the side door (which they're using as their main entrance now) or you can park in the huge shared parking out front. You should come here!

We went at lunch time on a Friday and the place was totally dead which felt weird, but the service was great and food was made to order and delicious. Lots of flavor. The shrimp chowmein had a lot of cilantro and onions. Fair warning for anyone who doesn't like that. I feel like this place would be a great place to go with their live band some nights. Definitely give it a try if you are in the area.

3.5 To borrow a page…read morefrom my Salsa review: "Nashville has Dominicans?" I had a friend in town from Miami and I wanted to show him that Nashville had a Latin scene beyond Central America. A furious search later and we came upon 809. When I saw that the name and colors were legit, I felt good about bringing him here. We walked in on a Wednesday night and we were the only people in the bar. At the time, they were transitioning from being a bar & restaurant to just a bar. That meant that I would not be enjoying any mangu or sancocho. No me gusta. After sidling up to the bar* and having the bartender pick the wrong one of us to be Dominican, I opted to have a strong rum drink since I wouldn't be enjoying any food. She asked what I wanted and I told her to surprise me. Some blending later, I had a perfectly strong rum drink to make me feel like I was going to the islands. She told us that the weekend is the top time to check 809 out. From the ample bar space and pool tables in the venue, I thought that sounded right. She also mentioned that, to her knowledge, this was the only Dominican bar/restaurant in the Nashville area. That's just crazy. I know Nashville is still growing and the city hasn't fully settled into what it's going to be but... Imma need Nashville to hurry up and attract more of my peoples.** For right now, 809 is a solid 3.5 for me. The lack of food is a bummer and I'd need to see the joint in full swing to go up/down but for what I experienced, I appreciated what they're doing and I hope they have the business to support it. I'll be back. *An insane telenovela was playing above the bar, which made me all sorts of happy. **Depends on the day/circumstance.

They just opened their kitchen and are offering a variety of Dominican, Mexican and Central-American dishes. I tried their Sancocho (Caribbean beef stew) and Tacos (al pastor and Chorizo) which were excellent. Their tacos are very well seasoned and not too greasy. As an appetizer I recommend the fried plantains and fried yuca with Chicharrón. People are very friendly; do not be surprised if someone invites you to dance salsa or bachata. I really enjoyed this place; I highly recommend it.

There was more than enough food on the platter. You should leave here full and satisfied. I DO NOT recommend the pineapple mimosa. The pineapple flavor tasted and looked very artificial and I'm unsure if it was even prepared properly considering the glass it came in. It lacked the bubbles part of a mimosa. This would be a great spot for a bachelorette party, friend group, date etc.... This place gives rustic and southern hospitality. They do have live music, which always an added bonus in music city.

Parking was super easy, and the woman at the counter was friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were clean, and the restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of tables and room to spread out, which is always appreciated when dining with little kids. My kids played outside while we waited for our food, but the food came out quickly. The kids' meals are some of the best values in town. One tip: the bun on the kids' cheeseburger is huge compared to the patty. I asked if they could add an extra patty, and they did for just $1. After removing some of the bun, it made for a much better burger and still kept the meal incredibly affordable. The spicy chicken tacos are also some of the best tacos in town. Our family of five ate for about $50. We usually buy Edley's gift cards at Costco, so our actual cost was closer to $40. It's refreshing to have a restaurant in Nashville that truly welcomes families while still serving great food. Highly recommend for anyone dining with kids.
