They were pleasant on the phone, offered me a group rate, and said that they would love to host us. 24 hour notice, and it was no problem! When we got there, they accommodated us in so many ways. My son was able to celebrate with 18 friends, some who were too scared to do everything. I walked out of the first part with tears in my eyes, doubled over laughing at how scared they were. When Poocaso did that paint brush "trick," my group almost ran up out of there. Let me not spoil any of it for anyone else, but all 4 were a hit hit hit. They even allowed us a space to set up a table for cake and goodie bags, and brought a few of the characters out to take pictures with my sons. When Cuddles came out to take a picture with my son, some of his friends took off running. This was so epic, and was made even better when one of the people told us that we were helping them fundraise. This is a free haunted house sponsored by NYPD. It's my second year going…read more We get there early as the lines can get pretty long. Characters walk by for photo ops and entertainment while you wait in line. NYPD staff is so fun and friendly. The house is for ages 12 and older, they allow younger ages at the parent's discretion. It so well done with jump scares in almost every room. It feels like a safe outing. Hours this year are 5pm to 11pm from Friday to Sunday. They let you in in small groups so you don't feel rushed. At the end, they sell Halloween themed souvenirs with NYPD and Fort Totten on them. I bought a Tshirt to support such an awesome event which is FREE to the community. We loved it and appreciated it!

However for what I did see, Bane knocked it out of the water. The actors were top notch and really played up their characters. The environment was crazy immersive and scary. We watched the Mercy TV count rise as we stood in line and it totally freaked us all out. Once inside, we can hear people screaming from the rooms next to us and it was a cool feeling all around. I'm suped to come back next year and check out Bane with full lighting and I'm excited about their events to come. The attraction itself is pretty creative, with a few things I haven't seen in other haunted houses. But the quitter counter, which displayed the number of guests who quit in fear, made it seem scarier than it actually was. I must admit, I thought the building would be larger. Two floors filled with popular monster ghouls and gals. There were also some characters I was not familiar with. Each exhibit was accompanied with trivia facts about the origin of the character. In this regard, the place has a museum feel to it. If you're looking to have the bejesus scared out of you or live characters all up in your face, this isn't the place for that. I personally didn't mind, although two of the exhibits did catch me by surprise. My scare quota was satisfied for the night! Expect to stay about an hour. Each room is full curated with an immense amount of fantastic scare actors and amazing mechanical props. Some of the lighting I can't even explain, the, "swamp" room was a total first for me and completely amazing. You'll know it when you see it.
