This was the opening weekend for this new players lounge. It is only accessible to Wild Card Rewards Members who have the Rock Royalty card at $10 comp dollars per person or X card members are complimentary.
The lounge is on the outside deck of the former Fish & Co. Restaurant overlooking the beach and boardwalk. It features a bar with seating and plenty of covered and uncovered seating to enjoy your buffet selections.
I spoke with Andrew, a Manager there and he let me know the theme along with the food would change every weekend. I posted a list of the upcoming offerings. This should be posted at the entrance along with the daily menu. The lounge currently is only open weekends Friday & Saturday from 4-10 and Sunday 11-5. I don't know if they have any plans on changing this but that is the current schedule.
Now onto the review...
We were seated and our server Maya greeted us and took our drink orders. I tried to order a virgin Piña colada but she told me those drinks are already premixed and in a dispenser behind the bar, so I was unable to get that drink so I settled for an unsweetened iced tea. We went up and helped ourselves to the Buffet offerings. They had a nice selection of cold salads...Caesar salad, cucumber tomato salad, coleslaw, potato salad and macaroni salad. For the hot selections they had hamburgers, hotdogs, sweet sausage, bratwurst, grilled chicken, barbecued ribs, and some sweet corn on the cob. They also had rolls, cheeses, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and condiments to go along with everything.
I had a rib, a sweet sausage, cheeseburger, some corn, macaroni salad, coleslaw, and some Caesar salad. My favorites were the rib, sausage, macaroni salad, coleslaw, and the corn was the best. The burger was way over cooked and crunchy, two bites was all I could choke down. Plus they were left sitting out in the open in a dish so I guess that didn't help it either. I asked if there were any dessert offerings as there weren't any listed on the menu and there weren't any on the buffet. Maya let me know yes they did have dessert. She said they had a peach cobbler, a banana cream dessert, chocolate chip cookies, or macadamia nut cookies. So I decided on a macadamia nut cookie and the banana cream dessert. I was surprised they didn't have any fresh fruit offering's like sliced melons, or watermelon or something like that since it was a BBQ theme. Anyway, the banana dessert looked beautiful but the taste wasn't that spectacular. I did enjoy the macadamia nut cookie I think I should've just ordered some cookies. I overheard the woman at the table behind me that she ordered the peach cobbler but it wasn't good either she said she'd like some cookies to go...lol
All in all I guess it was a decent lunch not something I would rush back to, between the two VIP lounges I definitely prefer Legends Lounge. This was their opening weekend so maybe things will be better in the future, I guess time will tell. read more
