Our world shut down in Texas 3 weeks before our wedding date. I am giving The Union 1 star due to the fact that they were not willing to refund out deposits. I had to cancel my wedding due to Covid-19, as my fiancé's side is all from New York. On April 2nd, 2020, everything, including The Union, shut down. Based on the contract, this should have fallen into Force Majeure, for which I should have received all monies paid. However, I because I decided to hold onto the last large lump sum of my remaining balance, I "broke contract" and they will not be giving my any refund. Thank God I didn't pay the remaining balance because they would have kept that too. To be fair, The Union did offer to let us reschedule the wedding date at not cost, but given the current state of the country and travel restrictions, it's not worth the risk of endangering my loved ones. We would have considered rebooking when/if things got better, but the venue does not hold the same feeling it once did.

We even had a professional florist as a guest at our wedding and she commented on how impressed she was by our florals. Evening looked absolutely exquisite and the day went so smoothly. We went with their all inclusive contract and I truly cannot recommend that enough! The whole planning experience was seamless and went SO smoothly compared to some of the horror stories you hear from other couples. I really was not stressed during the whole process, which was much nicer than my expectations! Everyone we met and worked with on staff was so kind, polite and professional so if the absolutely stunning venue didn't sell you (which, how could it not)- let it be the staff. We truly had such a pleasant experience with everyone there. Dawson is flexible, understanding and is quick with communication- which is something I greatly appreciate. HighPointe also did our florals and boy howdy... be ready to see your pinterest dreams come to life and be a million times better than expected!!! Dawson works magic with the floral arrangements and has such a good eye for detail. There were a few design details I couldn't make a decision on and wanted to make a game time decision, but the day of I decided to let him and our day of coordinator make those decisions and I am so glad that I did because everything looked so much better than in mind! Overall, I really cannot imagine getting married at any other venue and I am so excited to get our photos and video back so I can relive the day at this gorgeous venue over and over. Over the weekend we had a work event held at Reunion Ranch & let me tell you it was soooooo much…read morefun!! When you rent out Reunion Ranch (the outside grounds..a whole bunch of acres :) you have the entire place to yourself w/ access to over 41 activities..let me repeat that..YES, 41 activities!! There really was something for everyone one to enjoy..from the babies to the grown peeps! And the Reunion Ranch staff are so organized & kept things flowing so smoothly..even with over 400 attendees! I also really liked how the RR staff would announce over the loud speaker what activity was about to start. Activities Reunion Ranch offered: -tug of war mud pit..yes, complete with a real MUD PIT!! -volleyball courts -canoe & paddle boats -man made little sand beach -maze -horse shoes & washers -miniature golf -zip line -wagon rides -pony rides -obstacle course -teen tower -dunking booth ect ect ect And so many more activities but tooooo many to name & I'm not trying to get carpal tunnel ;) Another thing I give kudos to Reunion Ranch is the food serving line..they have about 6 different serving lines w/ RR staff making the plates & even w/ over 400 people in attendance the wait time was super fast. We had all you can eat barbecue plates & all you can eat Bluebell ice cream cups! There also was cotton candy, popcorn, & snow-cones for everyone to enjoy & for us adults..the libations offered were...sangrias, beer, & wine!! I was a regular at the sangria station!! ;) Reunion Ranch really is a cool place to have a team building event, reunion, or a wedding. Nick has been very easy to work with. This space is in the 3rd floor of the building Gumbo's North is in. The studio has beautiful natural light and Nick has furnished it very well with lighting and backdrops. She has audio recording and sound equipment for podcasters and other creative uses. Nick also runs her own photography business and non-profit out of the same space. If you are in town for a brief photoshoot or want to use this space on a regular basis for your creative endeavors, it is well furnished, comfortable, and reliabile.

It comfortably held all 130 of our ceremony guests. Even with the midsummer heat, the air conditioning kept everyone cool. ​The staff's promptness and openness made planning effortless. Reverend Owens worked with us to craft a personalized sermon, Ms. Karen, the coordinator, kept everything running smoothly, and Juan Manuel's musical expertise was incredible. He effortlessly accommodated our requests and even played Cajun music for our exit. A fantastic touch for my husband's family! ​The Mavis House was a wonderfully comfortable spot for my mother, grandmothers, sisters, and bridesmaids to get ready together. We looked at several other venues and chose Bentwood because of the serene beauty of the grounds. The reception area has beautiful wood tables and a stage with a lit dance floor. Stage area set up for DJ or Band with lights strung throughout. There is a wonderful walkway down to a pond area with an alter. There are 4 rooms that come with the weekend package. 1 with bunkbeds, 3 with queen size beds. The grooms area was set up with a pool table, dart board and refrigerator to keep the boys occupied while the girls got ready in a beautiful bridal room. Other venues we looked at gave you a couple of hours before and after the event to set up, have the ceremony and then clean up. We liked the fact that with the weekend package we could set up on friday, enjoy saturday and clean up Sunday. They have several packages to cover almost any need. We have been to several weddings this year and I have to say that Bentwood was by far the best venue.

Upstairs has a small room that can be used for a green room, dressing room or however you please. I love this venue as it's located right on Congress Ave with prime views of the capitol.
