    Bucket of Happy Dad Seltzers

A great sports bar to hang with your friends, chat, play pool or darts, and drink some cool ass happy dad seltzers.

Great place to watch the game and to play some games yourself! They have a whole second floor with lots of bar games like darts, pool, etc. We haven't tried the food yet, so we will be back to try the food. Just trying out all the local bars as we are new to the area.

This used to be the Music Loft for years. I was happy to see the building being used again and finally made it by. The place is huge and really cleaned up nice!! We were in the mood to play pool and have some lunch so this fit the bill. We got there around noon or so on a Saturday and there was just a few peeps in the place. That was fine, we weren't looking for a crowd, just a few games of pool and some eats. We were greeted by a pleasant waitress, asked how much the pool is ($1.00 a game for the small tables and $10.00 an hour for the large ones) and headed over to check them out. We'd been to another place in the neighborhood the night before that we frequent somewhat regularly that only has one table that's a bit worn. We were thrilled to see all the tables here in great shape! The menu is pretty extensive and they have some regular lunch specials of several varieties of sliders. We got the cheeseburger sliders and the pulled chicken sliders. Both were quite good and came with a nice portion of fries. We also started with some homemade chips that were light, crispy and super thin - very good!! Like I said the pool tables looked to be in great shape - and they were! The bumpers had a lot of action compared to ones we'd played on the night before elsewhere that in comparison were about DOA! We were there over two hours and some more people filtered in, but not a lot. We wondered why cos it's really a nice place!! Very clean, in fact, amazingly clean!! We'll definitely be back and hope that this place will be around for quite some time!

After a long game, we call this a friendly tie

Wow, the bartender could not have been more offensive. Thanks so much for embarrassing me in front of others and ruining my night tavern!

Nothing really special. I had chicken fingers and fries...they were OK. The place was absolutely dead on a Monday night.

Fine place. Nice place to hangout with friends, have a drink or snack. Celebrated my Birthday here, too.

Hillsboroughish crowd, but they have great bar food! They need to fix the "do not let slam" door. I have been dealing with it for years.

I've always enjoyed my experience at Tobacco Road. The food is ALWAYS good, and the drinks are good too! The staff and service have always been great as well! They don't take reservations, but you can add yourself to the waitlist ahead of your arrival if the function is available. This is also a great place for a private event. I've been to quite a few of them here and have had a great experience as well. Although there is some street parking available around the restaurant, the best option is to park in the parking deck a short walk nearby. Although they are well-known for their bar food, one of my favorite entrees is the Greek Lemon Chicken! It's so tasty, and the flavors complement each other well. There are tons of tvs to ensure you can catch the games as well! Highly recommend!

We visited mid week before going to see a show at DPAC. We joined the waitlist before we headed over, there were at least 10 others on the waitlist in front of us, and we got a table within about 5 minutes of arrival. They had half price glasses of wine, and I had the chicken salad sandwich with fries - crazy low prices for downtown Durham!

So I asked yelp to recommend a place for a birthday dinner. This was the first on the list. So…read moresince I couldn't get a reservation on my birthday to the place I originally wanted to go, we decided to come here. There is plenty of parking on the backside of the building, paid parking out front, and be careful not to park in the apartment spaces on the side...they sounded pretty serious about towing. I had made a reservation but it was probably unnecessary as it was pretty empty when we arrived (it was about 5pm on a Saturday.) The waitress brought a bottle of water to the table and took our drink order. And I know that this place is literally call it's a Southern thing but can I mention how much I dislike drinking out of mason jars? I ordered the chicken n biscuits, my husband got the country hamburger steak plate, my BiL got wings, and my SiL got the crabcakes. We also orders charred jalapeno & sweet corn hushpuppies and frickles as an appetizer. I was VERY excited about my food. Y'all...the only thing that impressed me were the Frickles. Everything else was distinctly underwhelming. I also ordered Blackberry Betta Have My Money which was not that great. My SiL ordered a espresso martini that they said didn't come from a mix but she said it tasted like it was. The bathrooms were very clean. The decor and the vibe were great. Cute even. I really enjoyed that part of it. After dropping off our food, we never saw our waitress again unless we flagged her down for drink refills. It was especially frustrating since there was automatic gratuity added. And since the place wasn't that busy, it felt like she didn't feel the need to earn her automatic tip. Overall I was disappointed in my birthday dinner. I won't be coming back here.

Both were warm and flavorful. We had an abundance of pita bread to dip in the crap dip. The sauce with the frickles was fantastic. I ordered the Dr Pepper wings as my entree and they were fall of the bone tender. Something so different about smoked wings versus fried. I washed everything down with a Bull Durham beer and it was flavorful and a perfect pour. Parents got the smoked chicken and shrimp and grits. See the attached photos.
