Great spot for a quick bite if you're taking in a show at the DPAC. Close by and an easy walk. The Blackened Salmon over brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes was most excellent. The fish and chips came with 2 pieces of fish. One piece was great, the other was greasy. Service is a little slow when they're busy, but the staff is very friendly. I would return.

Where do I begin! This very cool but small bar was the perfect place for an impromptu date night. We were seated downstairs in the "annex" bar which has a fun tiki bar vibe. We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of witnessing Casey's superb skills. My husband ordered a hurricane which was delightful but my drink was the star of the evening, The Saturn! which I am now referring to as Hawaii in a glass. Several years ago I had a drink at the Ritz in Kapalua that has been seared in my taste bud memory, The Saturn is this drink's party girl sister and I am here for it!!! We ordered a double burger and the fish and chips and both were finger licking good. The burger was a smash burger but also still juicy, the fish and chips were made with fresh cod and was so juicy and flakey. And let's not sleep on the fries, sure some may say fries are fries, right - wrong! These fries were perfectly salted with the right balance of fluffy center and crispy outer mixed with the harissa aioli that came with the fish. CHEF'S KISS!

It's been a while, and I have forgotten how cool this place could be based on the creative cocktails combined with great food options however, this visit was negatively impacted by the Bartender who chose to ignore me at my section of the bar as a solo patron and entertain his regulars at the other end of the bar. As I paid for my appetizer I mentioned to him the importance of working the entire bar to which he replied I know that, but based on this experience, clearly, he does not know that, and failed to provide the same level of service. Fingers crossed for a better experience in the future, and I can actually order more than an appetizer to enjoy the vibe that this cool space provides

Had an amazing experience sitting at the bar. The bartenders were super nice, and the atmosphere was perfect for a small bar. I've heard a lot about the burgers, and I would say it lived up to the hype.

The food is pretty good. My daughter introduced me to this spot. She loves the burgers. I had the salmon with veggies and it was surprisingly good. The service was good. Eclectic atmosphere and we sat downstairs.

I have been passing by this spot for years and finally my husband recommended we dropped in. It was the best decision!! We sat at the downstairs bar. Decor reminds me of Gilligan Island but a very nice vibe! Drinks and Single Burger was on point! Definitely a spot we will go back but thumbs down no pickles for burgers. Excellent service from Artson!

Food and service were great!! We sat at the bar and were served promptly. The drinks were as delicious as the food. They had a wide variety to choose from on the menu.

Especially since being recommended in the Michelin Guide for the American South. We all opted for the tasting menu and it did not disappoint. We tried the ceviche, birria dumplings, ham as à la plancha, spring asada, churros and capirotada. Every course was excellent and the asada was some of the best steak I have ever had. Also did the wine pairings and they were excellent. I opted for the Cava Rose, Albariño, rioja, Cabernet and Amaro Nonino. Foods paired very well with these options. This was my second time here and second time having the gambas, which are always fantastic. Service was excellent and made for a very special evening. I highly recommend! Bonus tip: they are right next door to The Durham Beer Garden where you can enjoy a beer if you have to wait for a table, as we did.

It was too much food for one sitting but I'm not complaining. The butter on the biscuits was amazing for the first course Second course I had the salad. The picked radish was a nice touch but the greens were drowned in the dressing. My friend got the ceviche and was pleasantly surprised by the saltiness added from the caviar. This course she got the gambas over blue corn grits and I went for the duck chilaquiles. Excellent flavor. And the duck was cooked well. I def recommend this for a breakfast forward savory dish- it's served with two over easy eggs. Finally we polished it off with the bread pudding with homemade ice cream and churros. The mango ice cream tastes exactly like a frozen mango. The blackberry on was nice as well. Very fresh. The decor is gorgeous and makes for a cool vibe. Lots of black walls with gold accents and copper insets around the bar. I'll def be back for date night to catch the evening vibes. We sat inside but they also half a full garden area for seating too ( maybe when it's not 102 degrees and humid). Guadalupe was our server and super sweet. We were here chatting and eating for a full three hours and we're never rushed to turn over the table. Love.

Parking couldn't have been easier. We found a space right out front in the lot off 9th Street and walked straight in. It was a quiet Thursday afternoon, so we were seated immediately. The dining room has an elegant, relaxed feel, and with only a few other diners it made for a peaceful lunch. Lunch for two came to about $80 plus tax and tip, making this one of the more upscale lunches we've had recently. We ordered: * Crispy Brussels Sprouts * Shrimp Dumplings (6) * Mongolian Beef * Grilled Lemongrass Hanger Steak Salad * Unsweetened iced tea The Food The Crispy Brussels Sprouts were a great start. They were crisp on the outside without being overcooked, and the mint, peanuts, and pickled onions added both texture and freshness. It was also a large enough portion for leftovers. The Shrimp Dumplings were excellent. The flavor was outstanding, and the Thai chili oil, garlic, scallions, and sesame worked beautifully together. My only criticism was the portion size. At six small dumplings, they felt a little pricey for what you receive. The Mongolian Beef was probably the best value of the meal. The beef had a nice sear while remaining tender inside, and the portion was generous enough that we had leftovers for another meal. It had a nice overall flavor as well. The Grilled Lemongrass Hanger Steak Salad was good, but not quite at the same level. The steak had good flavor, but the cut itself was somewhat chewy. The accompanying rice was simply prepared and didn't add much to the dish. The flavors were enjoyable, although slightly sweeter than my wife prefers. Service Service was excellent. Our server took the time to walk us through each dish, explaining ingredients, spice levels, and preparation so we could choose items that fit our tastes. We especially appreciated her knowledge of the menu and her attentiveness throughout the meal, my iced tea was never empty. Overall Juju offers an attractive setting, excellent service, and several very well-executed dishes. Our biggest challenge was simply that much of the lunch menu leans toward spicier offerings than we typically enjoy. While we probably wouldn't return specifically for lunch, the dinner menu appears to offer a much wider variety of choices that fit our tastes. We'll likely be back to give dinner a try.

Before I continue, this place is nice and has a LOT of potential. There's a really good chance I would come back here. It is tapas (table plate-sharing based), and the food comes out as it is cooked, not in appetizer-then-entree order. With that being said... Our experience: Saturday evening, 6:30pm reservations Our order: Banana Mojito, a spritzer of some kind, the Braised Goat, Dovi Cauliflower, Magwinyas & Ice Cream. The food: The goat came out first, with jollof rice and a few fried plantains on the side. The goat sauce was a tad bit spicy, and the goat meat was good, but you had to work it like neckbones (maybe I'm unfamiliar with navigating goat meat): It was tasty. The plantains were the best I have EVER had, even from the Caribbean. The cauliflower came out next, sitting in a coconut-peanut sauce. It was a rather large head and it was good. If you do not like peanut sauce, I would say not to get it. Its really what gave the grilled cauliflower any flavor. Because I like bread, I opted to get the magwinyas (the waitress said that we'd get two, gesturing they'd be about the size of an airpod case), but when they arrived, they were about the size of a gobstopper. THEY ARE NOT LIKE ANY PHOTOS ONLINE. The best part is that they were warm and the homemade ice cream was Oreo lemon - we noticed it was the vanilla Oreo, not the chocolate. The ice cream was rich, and although it was pretty good, we couldn't finish it. For the price, the serving sizes were rather small, which doesn't explain why we were full at the end. The pros: nice ambiance, although the place is VERY intimate: tables are kinda small, and somewhat close together. The food came out surprisingly fast (not just ours, but for the parties seated around us as well). I understand the bathroom is large and VERY well decorated and comfortable. It is for ONE PERSON at a time though. The cons: The service was definitely beneath the establishment. While the waitress knew the menu, her presentation was lacking (dirty and soiled apron - from way before that day), and she was lackluster in her service. The water is pre-poured into carafes, and was almost warm. We asked for ice and never got it. The waitress did not identify the items on the menu that were not available, we were only told after we expressed interest. MAYBE ONCE did she come to check on us, even though they only had 4-5 tables seated. AND, when she wasn't waiting tables, she could be seen eating directly in the window the kitchen door. Tips: Park in the South Lot, its literally steps away. If you go here on a Durham Bulls game day, let the parking attendants know you're parking for dining and they will allow you to park for free. You can also park for free in the North Lot: its an easy 5 min walk through the Tobacco Campus. When I walk into a restaurant, the ambiance and the menu (prices) set my expectations. While I understand everything has gotten more expensive lately, I feel like this place is a little overrated and overpriced. IF and when I do return, I'll try the chicken wings and sausage rolls.

The food and concept were great, but unfortunately the experience was a little lackluster. I made reservations a few weeks ahead of time online because this does sell out. I did the prix fixe igloo dinner experience that's $65 per person. There are four courses included and you can add drinks for an additional fee. When you book the reservation for this, they also take a $50 deposit that gets applied to the final bill. I also learned later there is a 20% service charge added to your bill too. My husband and I got there a few minutes ahead of our reservation and were able to be taken to our igloo immediately. Sadly, that was when the superb service ended. Our igloo was right next to the hostess stand and the few times she was actually sitting at the stand, she was on her phone FaceTiming someone. The Igloo Prix Fixe is advertised as a 90 minute "leisurely" dining experience, but this was way too slow of service. It took almost 20 minutes for our server to greet us and take our order. When you order, you order all four courses at once. I ordered the bay gem salad, butternut squash ravioli, truffle steak (a $5 up-charge), and butterscotch pudding. They didn't have the ravioli, so they substituted it to for macaroni & cheese. My husband also ordered a soda. Course 1 came in about 5ish minutes; however, it took 30 minutes for my husband to get his soda. It then took 40 minutes after Course 1 for Course 2. Course 3 came 10 minutes later. Course 4 came 20 minutes after that. I will say all the food was great! I would only recommend they work on food timing. It felt that there should have been a longer wait between Course 2 and 3 rather than 1 and 2. The whole experience also took a little bit longer than 90 minutes, so people should be aware in case they had plans elsewhere afterwards. The inside of the igloo dining area was nice! There were 2 couches and chairs near a space heater so you didn't have to worry about the cold outside. Overall, this was a unique experience, but I probably would not do it again though based on the service.
