Everyone says what wonderful (however pale) skin I have. I have it by staying out of the sun! But when a Women's Weekend pool party beckoned, I knew I had to do something to get some color, if not for me then for the others in attendance. I figured my best bet would be a spray tan. I checked Yelp and found Tan Lines near me. I called and was told about the coupon. It's a humble place- nothing glamorous, but clearly offers a variety of options for tanning. Margaret was perfect for me as a first timer. She heard my need to have color without looking too dark or fake. She took her time to ensure an even application. I got my spray tan on a Tuesday and it was still absolutely believable for a real tan by the time I went to the pool party on Saturday. No one was the wiser. I will definitely go back and ask for Margaret again as the need arises. read more

I just got the first spray tan in my life and loved it!!! Meghan did a great job... no streaks, completely even, and washed off gradually. Definitely lasted longer than the 7 -10 days I was expecting it to last. Will return, especially before summer weddings and vacations. read more

The first girl who helped me was cery helpful and friendly. The second time i came to tan i was disappointed with the experience. I tried to put the moist towel they provide over my face half way through my tan to offer protection for half of my tan and it smelled extremely strong of BO. After finishing my tan I handed the basket back to the woman working the desk and let her know that the towel smelled bad. She assured me that they're washed in a somewhat defensive manner. No apologies. She also did not seem the least bit surprised... I paid for one more tan, i think, so i'll probably use it and move on to the next place. Tan Line is a great place to go if you want to get a tan in a hurry. The pricing is by far the cheapest in the area and the people working there are always very nice and helpful. They are always polite from the minute I arrive and they always give me complementary tanning goggles and a cool towel to use while I'm in the bed. If you are looking for a place to get a tan at a reasonable price, I would definitely recommend coming here. read more

Worst place to tan. If you want to waste money, this is the place to do it.. the bulbs must be 10+Years old beds are crappy, dirty and old. Tanned three times (highest power bed used) ive yet to see any color change. Worst 100,00 ive ever spend. Do not expect to get a tan here (at least not in there high pressure bed) read more

This place is awesome!! The stand up bed is so nice and gives your whole body that bronzed color. I have been in all the beds and have loved the results. You really need a good lotion though which you can get there. Finally, I found the staff to be very knowledgeable and friendly :) read more

I received a first time customer deal (buy 2 and get the 3rd free). I love bringing business in my local area to those who really care about the service and catering to their customers. DO NOT TAN HERE!!!!!!! I was greeted by a spaced out owner..who gave me no advisal what so ever on the "mega-bed". I asked how long should I go in as a beginner with fair skin..his reply, "most go in 10 or 15 minutes" I chose to go for 8 since I am fair. He had only changed the bulbs on the top of the bed, and I knew something was wrong. IT SCALDED my skin on the front of my body to the point of I may need to go to the doctor. And the bottom of the bed didn't give me any color at all. I can't believe the carelessness of this owner Dan. Then when I went back to ask for a refund, he would only give me back 15$ of the 30$ he ran on my card. The place is dirty to the point of being "SCUZZY"...please don't ever tan in this place. His cheap and lazy way of running a tanning salon is hazardous to the community. read more

I have been tanning indoors for over 10 years. I find the "Tan Line" to be one of the best! It's small, so the employees get a sense of who you are, and the type of tan you personally are seeking (versus large salons where you're just another number.) The customer service is excellent, and you can tell they care about your results. I tried the airbrush tanning here as well. They gave me helpful information for making the tan last. I had color for over a week! It was even, and beautifully natural looking. The level 4 bed is what I currently use, and I am not ever going back to level 1 or 3. It's gentle so I don't burn (being very fair skinned) and I only need to go in once or twice a week to maintain my tan. I have lived all over the bay area, and the prices here are by far the best I have seen. I recommend this salon highly for a great tan, and a nice peaceful, quality experience! read more

Went here March 09 for a spray tan for prom and it turned out great. I'm pretty pale, so I got one coat and it was fine. Just recently went before my graduation and got spray tanned by a different girl. Told her it was great with one coat before so I wanted to stick to that and she agreed. I followed her instructions and as time went by only the back of my knees, cleavage and a line around my hips were darker. I told her specifically my legs were my main concern and they were the palest part of my body, except for the back of my knees. She told me it would be fine after a shower the next day, which was the day I was graduating, and it looked exactly the same if not worse. I went back for a touch up thinking it would look at least somewhat better. She told me I didn't absorb it well but it should be fixed. I waited a couple hours and nothing had changed at all!!! By then I had to go to my graduation and thank God my gown covered the back of my knees or everyone would have seen how bright orange they were. I looked a hot mess. My friends and family who did see said I should try to get my money back, which I really should have and regret not doing. Definitely not coming back for a spray tan. read more

I was really excited to find a tanning salon so close to our new home. Within walking distance is perfect! My experience, however, was less than perfect. Upon entering the salon, I was barely greeted and had to get most of the information on my own. I was given the option to benefit from a current special, so I opted for that, but, was disappointed when I was told I couldn't use the yelp $25 for $50 credit to pay for it. Not that big of a deal. When shown my room, I was told how to start the best, but not a thing about the various other features: face lights, fans and standard operating procedures. Luckily, I'm not a novice tanner, so I had a good idea on how things worked. The only REALLY unfortunate thing was that who ever installed the bulbs did them improperly. The top half of the upgraded beds typically have stronger bulbs than the bottom side that you lay on. (Makes sense, right? You wouldn't want strong bulbs directly on your back). Well, I did. Now, I have a horribly weird burn and an uneven "tan" all over my body. The woman in front told me after I explained my disappointment that she normally flips/rotates in that bed....? Never heard of anyone rotating in a lay down bed in my 15+ years of tanning. If that's what she suggests then I should've been notified. Either way, they were easy to work with on giving me my refund and in just sorry that I now have to find a new salon before we leave for our trip. read more

i Spent a whole month at The Tan Line and i was very happy with the results. The staff is so friendly and accomidating i will probably go back in a couple days and buy another month. When i called over there for price checks over a month ago, i was speaking to the owner (unaware i might add) and he told me about this great deal that was going on and so when i got off work i went straight to the Tan Line to get started. When i arrived i was told that the deal was only valid if i paid for a second month with a credit card, at first i was a little upset, i thought why would he keep that part of the deal from me? but the lady at the counter called him and explained what i had thought the deal was and the owner honored our first agreement. NOW THATS GOOD BUSINESS PEOPLE! now i paid 89 dollars for a month in the stand up level three bed and so i went to my calander and highlighted all the days i would be able to make it and it calculated to 3.60 a tan! who can beat that?! anyways i got concerned when i went there after work and the sign on the door said they were closed due to short staffing...... i didnt want a day to be wasted, so the next day when i went in i shared my concern with the sweet lady and without any questions she added an extra two days on my account!!!!! i am all done with my tanning but i most definatly will be back in a few days to continue my sun kissed tan! read more

its not that bad, the girls are nice enough and it isn't dirty or anything. you have to know about tanning because they will not offer you any valuable information. i burn easily and they put me in for 8 min my first day, red as a berry. the bulbs are fresh and the prices are good, you get better then you pay for :) read more

I recently got a spray tan here. It was kind of an emergency and I couldn't get in anywhere else. First of all, a guy was the only person available to do it. I knew it would be awkward, but I had to suck it up or be ghost white on my vacation. I got there and this place looked like a seedy massage parlor. I was really uneasy. The "spray tan area" is in the back utility room with the washing machine, brooms and cans of paint. The whole thing felt really sketchy. The guy couldn't get the airbrush to work. He was knocking stuff over trying to plug it into different places. He called someone for a tip on how to get it to work better. Meanwhile, I am standing there basically naked and freezing. The whole process took about 40 minutes, which I think was ridiculous. I didn't even want to pay for it. But I did anyway and I could not get out of there fast enough. As the tan developed over the next two days I noticed horrible tan lines, marks where the tanner driped down my leg, areas that looked like I got splattered with flecks of brown paint. It was overall a horrible experience and I would give this place 0 stars if I could!!! Horrible tan and feeling scared in the creepy back room=terrible!!! read more

Be cautious when signing up with this place or using a groupon. The staff is very kind but they are extremely unorganized. I purchased a groupon for both my husband and I. We were allowed to use it for some services but not others, which resulted in me having a $30 credit to my account, which seemingly I could never use toward anything else. I signed up for the easy pay but my information was always lost when I came in therefore I paid as I went. My husband and I moved out of the area back in July and all of a sudden starting in March I was being charged $52 for a monthly fee. We have not used their services since JULY. I called Dan the manager and he made some excuse that it was because my card might have not worked or their machines might have not worked therefore I needed to treat it like a gym membership and provide a 30 day notice. As a result, I am paying for a service I am not using and in the end paying more than double of what I pay when I used tanline. He was unwilling to work with me and I am not ok with my paperwork/personal information floating around and all of a sudden being charged more than 9 months later. This is poor customer service and business etiquette. read more
