If you are anywhere near Jefferson City and do not stop at Ghost and Grits, you are doing it wrong…read more From the minute we walked in, it felt like one of those places that just gets it. Great atmosphere, welcoming staff, and food that actually lives up to the hype. I ordered the shrimp and grits and let me tell you, they were outstanding. Creamy, perfectly seasoned, and loaded with flavor. Not the bland, "it'll do" kind. The real deal. Every bite was better than the last. My husband had the steak. Cooked exactly right, full of flavor, and clearly high quality. When a steak guy is impressed, you know it is serious. And the charcuterie board? Unreal. They had Prosciutto di Parma on there. You almost never see that around here, and they did not skimp. It was fresh, flavorful, and paired beautifully with everything else on the board. Thoughtful, elevated, and done right. Now let's talk about the brown sugar bourbon. They make it in house and it is beyond amazing. Smooth, rich, just the right amount of sweetness. One sip and you understand why people rave about it. Bottom line: incredible food, top notch drinks, and an experience that feels special without being stuffy. Ghost and Grits is the kind of place you go once and immediately start planning your next visit. Jefferson City is lucky to have it!

A friend and I ate at Lisa's Country Kitchen in Jefferson City, TN this past Thursday evening…read more(January 29) around 4:00. After being seated I ordered the Turkey and Dressing Special because I thought it would be a very good "Special" and I thought I would get it fast! It took 25 or so minutes for the meal to arrive and when I got it there was only one 4"x4 x1/16" +/- thick slice of processed Turkey placed on top of the Dressing. Yes, only one bite size of very thin processed Turkey. It is difficult for me to understand how a Turkey Dinner could only have one very small slice of Turkey! The Baked Potato I ordered was small but hot which was a plus. I received a slice of a Loaf of Bread that was advertised as French Toast, and was not warm. I managed to eat the Luke warm barely edible Dressing along with the decent tasting Baked Potato. I kept wishing that I had ordered something else that hopefully would have tasted better but it was now to late for that. The waitress was respectful but robotic like, not too polite at all. The Restaurant had lots of supposed antiques both nailed to the wall and placed in shelving areas, a supposed Cracker Barrel sort of copy. It is my guess that none of the items has been dusted since being nailed to the walls or placed in the shelves. I have to rate this meal experience as the third worst meal that I have ever eaten at a Restaurant! There was asolutely nothing I experienced while at the Restaurant, that was positive! One thing that was strangely surprising was that there were lots of automobiles parked out front and the Restaurant was about 3/4 full! I guess I should have asked the Waitress before ordering my meal: "What do you recommend that I get to eat"? But, since I didn't ask that question and since my meal was terrible I will not be eating at Lisa's Çountry Kitchen again and I sincerely cannot recommend eating there to anyone else!

There is plenty of parking with spaces adjacent to the building as well as across a traffic lane. There are handicapped spaces near the front door. There is a step up to the door but there is also a ramp by the handicapped spaces. The interior is bright a clean. The ordering counter is directly in front and a deli case is to the left. The menu is above the counter on the rear wall. The specific bagels available are on a chalkboard on the left wall. Seating consists of a few tables. We decided on our breakfast bagel sandwiches from the menu. We also ordered a few bagels from the available choices to take with us. The bagels were pulled as we ordered them. We waited maybe 10 minutes for our breakfast bagels to be made. Be aware the "extras" for breakfast sandwiches include things like lettuce, tomato, and onion and are all extra cost. Both sandwiches were quite filling. They were freshly made and the bagels were very good. They had the right amount of crunch with a wonderful soft interior. the specialty bagels we ordered were all quite good and are excellent examples of how bagels should be made. TN Bagels is a good place to satisfy your bagel craving, and they offer decent breakfast and lunch options as well.

Located on the end of a strip mall, parking is plentiful. There are spaces adjacent to the building as well as across a traffic lane. I did not notice a specific handicapped space but since we were there later in the morning we were able to find a space near the front door. There is a step up to get onto the sidewalk as you enter. As you walk in, the display case is right in front. We had heard they sell out quickly, and the case was only half full when we got there. Still, the selection was large and had a good variety. The workers were very friendly and made several suggestions when we told them it was our first time there. Even a customer who came in after we started ordering gave a couple suggestions of her favorites. They have a good selection of gourmet donuts, with items like berries and custard, banana pudding, Oreo, German chocolate, etc. It would be impossible to not find something that piqued your curiosity. One thing I found unique and very appreciated was they fill your jelly donuts when you order them. That way they don't get soggy and break apart after sitting for a while. These are gourmet donuts done right. This will most likely become a regular stop for us as we travel through the area as they are definitely worth a side trip.
