Let me just say, this was the FIRST restaurant in Jersey City that I had absolutely no complaints when it comes to the taste of food! I was surprised, with how surprised I was at the taste and quality of food. Due to food prices rising and quality going down, I have managed to cook at home as much as I can. I usually go out, order food, pay all that money, and regret it because it wasn't satisfactory. I was really pleased with this restaurant. I went for brunch. The steak and eggs plate was more than enough. I'm not a bread fan, but the biscuit with the homemade strawberry jam was actually to die for! The biscuit was fresh, moist and soft. The jam was not too sweet and paired together they were extremely satisfying! I could've eaten the biscuit with just the eggs and still recommended this place. I did think the steak was not the best, but the chimichurri sauce on top *kinda* helps you get over it. If you're a big fan of steak, know what well cooked steak is and that's your favorite food and you need it done perfectly, you also will not like it. To add to this point precisely, generally, steak and eggs plate are on the pricy side. With how good everything else was on the plate, how much food is provided and the lower cost of this steak and eggs plate makes it well worth it! Idc, if you feel like you make the best pancakes out there, the softness of these pumpkin pancakes are simply unbeatable! I absolutely love pancakes, and these may be the best ones I have ever had. They melt in your mouth and there's not much I can say other than please try the pancakes! They offer blueberry pancakes as well, but I did not have those and can't speak on that! With the trio appetizer, I think the pita was very good. Perfect crunch, perfect softness, slightly some flavor. The dips were okay. I was expecting more flavor, but that's the fun part of being able to try a variety, some you are gonna like more than others. I think we were given more than enough pieces of pita and that was nice since we can all agree sometimes the dip to chip/bread ratio does not really match at most places. The middle salad was fresh. There was some olives (which I generally do not like) but they were not as salty as olives generally are, and it was a good appetizer of choice to get some freshness, some slight protein (from certain dips being made out of beans) and it was a great introduction to our main meals. This if my first time going to this restaurant, hopefully other things on the menu will also meet my standards of good, but for the first experience and the selection of what I chose on the menu, in the least, I say try the steak and egg plate and DEF the pumpkin pancakes (ESPECIALLY if your a fan of pumpkin like myself). I'm not someone that cares for ambiance much, but it was nice in there. Typical amount of people in there for brunch, but did not feel overcrowded or loud although the space (that I was sitting in) felt slightly small. The service was nice, but I did feel it was a bit overbearing. I don't like to be asked how I'm doing every 10 mins, but maybe some people do. So it was my Pal's birthday and four of us went to grab some brunch at the table. The food was delicious. I had some scrambled eggs with cheese and a buttermilk biscuit. My friends had the French toast and egg omelettes. Everyone enjoyed and finished their meals.. We all agreed that our meals were delicious. Service was nice. We ordered some amazing cocktails and food. The Table is a small restaurant located at the resort style living apartments at 3 Acres. It's located right across the street from the West Side Avenue light rail stop which makes it very convenient to get to. I think they call it the Table because next to the restaurant is a massive event space that can fit either 50 to 150 ( they can open it up) and it has a beautiful massive tree trunk shaped table. The main restaurant has booth seating and tables. The chef is non other than Dan Latham, who used to cook and own Latham House one of my favorite places to eat in Downtown Jersey CIty. I was very happy to see that the Latham Asian Chicken Salad ( which I used to eat all the time at Latham House!!) was on the menu!! The nostalgia is real!! The Table serves elevated American classics and it did not disappoint. I ordered the calamari and the sesame salmon and I would recommend both to my friends. I loved that the calamari was battered but lightly, so I could taste the crispiness of the outside but also the softness of the calamari itself. The sesame encrusted blackened salmon was perfectly medium, and I really thought the vegetables on that dish were a standout ( you know a chef is good when they notice and pay attention to the vegetables) especially on top of the fragrant jasmine rice. I would go back to eat this dish again. It's been awhile since I had such good food. On top of it, the host was super kind, offering to seat me early while I waited for my party. I appreciate that it's easy to find and get parking . The place is spacious and airy. Some of the seats are uncomfortable. It's the hard metal ones that most hipster-ish new places have. They have a full bar next to the dining area. We went in a group of 9 for a birthday brunch. The savory food was extremely meh. Tasteless and bland. The dessert however was 10/10 especially the banana honey pancakes. Given the prices it shouldn't taste so bad. Everyone at the table agrees the brunch wasn't good. The waiter was friendly but you could tell everyone in there was tired as heck lol I really feel for them as it was super busy but they were still pretty fast and attentive. The unlimited mimosas were also gross . The only tasty one was the peach. Everything else was sour and made us gag. I don't know if I'd go back. I've had better brunch spots in jersey city and I wouldn't say this was even top 10. If you want to stop by for beer and dessert be my guest. read more

Late post! Found this place to eat for dinner before the late night Yelp Elite fitness class. Ambiance was great and the hostess was lovely. Server was okay. Food was dissatisfactory. I assume this place is only good for the people who live here because there are very limited dining options. I ordered what was rated highly so I could be satisfied. People sure love their salt and dry sandwiches - the braised ribs were so salty I'm not sure how chefs can't taste how salty their food is. It was perfectly tender though I give him that. Loved the carrots and mashed potatoes though for the price could've been more carrots. The sandwiches were a bit dry and not so flavorful maybe a different bread would've helped. Don't recommend what I ordered at least. I have no reason to return. read more

First time eating here for lunch and the food was great! Have been here for dinner a few times too. The salmon salad on the lunch menu was delicious, salmon cooked perfectly with a crispy outer layer but still moist and flavorful inside. It's a good portion too, very nutritious salad and filling. This is a convenient spot right across the street from West Side light rail parking lot and they have a bunch of tables and space if you have a large group. Kid friendly too which is a plus! Kiddo had a cheese quesadilla which technically isn't on the lunch/brunch menu but they made it for us anyway. Great spot with friendly service and we will be back for more food and drinks soon! read more

New brunch/dinner spot right next to the West Side Lightrail Station. We went there during brunch hours. There wasn't much of a wait so we were seated pretty fast. However, sometimes when I pass by it is packed with people waiting outside. Their Smoked Salmon Benedict was really good. I just wish the egg was a bit more runny, but that didn't stop me from enjoying and clearing my entire plate. I loved how tasteful the potatoes were. The Truffle Mac & Cheese was so good I had to savoy every bite since as a side, the portion wasn't very large. Would definitely go back to try other items on the menu. read more

The place was a low lit restaurant great for friends or for a couple Our server was attentive and friendly. I enjoyed that the Table had a variety of things to choose from apps to entrees. They had a pretty decent cocktail menu also which we indulged in. We had the Buffalo Style crispy vegetables and shrimp and fish tacos as appetizers. We had the sesame salmon and the rotisserie chicken as entrees. Both were pretty good. The chicken, was a little dry but otherwise pretty decent. The area absolutely needed a good restaurant with great cocktails so I'm happy it's in the neighborhood. I hear the brunch is great so I'll be trying that next. read more

This was my 2nd time at the table! My waiter Ralph was amazing we had the bottomless mimosas and I had the steak and eggs entry was delicious. Last time I was there I had the southern hospitality also great! I haven't been for any other meals besides brunch. The food is always delicious but the service is lacking. Also the coffee isn't very good. There's always seating available for brunch, so no need to make reservations. One tip I would give is to not order the endless mimosa. Since the service isn't great, the two times we've ordered it we were only able to get maybe 2 mimosas within the two hour limit they give you because it's impossible to find your server after they've taken your food order. I went to The Table recently for the first time to try the brunch menu. If you have eaten at their other restaurants (Latham House and Emma), the Table will strike a familiar cord. The menu has a variety of savory and sweet options, I went with the omelet ($17- spinach, ham, cheddar cheese, 7 grain toast, roasted red potatoes) which was a good portion, tasty, and filling. I was able to order this omelet without the ham, but I wasn't able to add another filling to replace the ham. For drinks, we had the harvest mule ($11 and good) and mulled wine ($13, my friend thought it was too sweet). The atmosphere was nice and reminded me of a smaller version of Latham House. My only gripe is they allow almost no substitutions and you can't order anything that is not on the brunch menu. For example, my friend and I wanted to split a dessert but couldn't because there isn't dessert on the brunch menu. I also wanted a martini, but was limited to the brunch cocktail list. I've been here two or three times and my experience has been alright. The service crew is always friendly and welcoming but also very forgetful. I like the general idea of their classic dishes and signature offerings, I just believe that the execution needs to be better. I have noticed that those fine details that are supposed to make the difference sometimes get lost because of the poor execution. I think they use good quality ingredients and I appreciate that, they can replace the fries with something more "homemade" like. The desserts are a true highlight. Classic offerings but delicious. They could do so much better with the decorations, though. Runny chantilly cream can never look good on top of a dessert! Regardless of their flaws, it is a good place to go. I recently moved to Los Angeles and The Table is the ONLY place in Jersey City I make sure to visit each time I'm back. Chef Dan is the best! The ambiance is very welcoming and my Dad loved the table lights so much that he turned around and bought the same ones from amazon right after dinner Everything on the menu is amazing, the only item I can't speak to is the pizza bc I haven't tried it yet. The short ribs are my absolute favorite, they're such a comfort meal. Drinks are unique and delicious every time. You are certain to find something you like here! Every dish and drink we got was a 10/10 - I'd order them all again. If you're going in a big group get a pizza and a few apps before your main. Our app combo was perfect for our group of 7 people - sausage pizza, chicken and vegetable dumplings, crispy calamari and truffle mac & cheese. The one negative was slow bar service. I had seen that in a few reviews so I came in with that expectation and it didn't ruin my evening - but I would really recommend to management to look into this as a reoccurring problem people are bringing up. Favorite dishes on the menu: Greek Cesar Shrimp salad you cannot go wrong I usually order this every time I go and it never disappoints. Their salmon/fish dishes are also a highlight. Hummus platter or calamari to start. For dessert, the flourless chocolate cake - it is gooey on the inside and comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to cut the decadence. I always order one to share at the end of a meal with friends and it's a crowd pleaser. Definitely the best restaurant in the area, can go dressed up or down. This restaurant deserves my recommendation. Tonight I had the sesame salmon, medium-cooked. Included is a side of white rice and a medley of sautéed vegetables like spinach, kale, broccoli, and zucchini. As I'm writing this I am still surprised how succulent the salmon tasted. The sides provided the right counterbalance to the sesame salmon's flavor. I was impressed. It was fantastic. I requested a French 75' cocktail to accompany my dinner. It had the right amount of citrus and sparkling to suit me the evening through. The staff employed here are exceptional. The hostess, Greta, set the tone for my entire dining experience by providing the perfect seating arrangement and ensuring smooth service for the evening. Alana, as a server, is knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. I had no issues with having my order placed or receiving things within a reasonable amount of time, thanks to her. Paul, another employee of The Table is an excellent point-of-contact for any needs that may arrive over the course of the evening's dinner. In general, everyone I've met at The Table is considerate, accommodating, and really attentive. It's an above-average level of restaurant service here. As far as the ambience, the restaurant has a casual vibe and contemporary look. It is a clean and neat space. The decor and lighting add to the evening's dining experience. There is booth, table, bar, and outdoor seating throughout. I'm glad I came here. I give four stars and a must-try recommendation for food, service, and ambiance. read more

The good: Big in Japan Cocktail Key Lime Pie Braised Short Rib ( could be more tender) Needs work on Tempura Brussels - the menu description doesn't match the item. What we got was Brussels drenched in oil. Nothing in it is tempura like. See photos Home made burrata - bland. Store bought has more flavor. Calamari - doesn't taste freshly made. It's like frozen and ready to fry type commonly found in corporately owned big scale dining establishments (ie. Applebees, Houlihans, etc.) Bread pudding - custard base on the bread soaked in is bland. I do see why they did that so the can mask it with the slated caramel drizzle and Dulce de leche ice cream. I do prefer my bred pudding more eggy and has more bite of richness which carries the pudding better. The ice cream does not provide richness the same way the custard does. I'll give this place another shot on their food when I am ready and if it improves, but the first impression didn't do well. read more

I went last night and what an amazing experience. The vibe and ambiance were exceptional. Had all 3 mocktails and they were exceptional (only because I don't drink alcohol) . Usually they are sugary and not amazing. Had the buffalo wings and couldn't have been better. I had the Brussels sprouts, the steak, the perfect crisp fries, delicious roasted carrots, the tasty dumplings, and the best bread pudding dessert ever. Yes, I was in the gym all day today. More than anything, the service was phenomenal. JOE was fantastic, makes you wanna stay for hours and keep ordering haha. I wish I took more photos. Hit or miss but mainly a miss. I think the quality of food you get for the price is not worth it. Service also lacks on most days. I've been a repeated number of times and it's been very lackluster. The wine glass is always dirty and no one inspects it before walking all the way across the room to drop it at my table. Ambiance is great, because it is downstairs of the building I reside in. So let me start by saying i am elated that theres a nice restaurant and bar on the Westside Ave area of JC. The table is located on the ground floor of 3 Acres luxury building. Its truly a beautiful space. Very open and designed very modern and contemporary. Serves and staff was very nice! Our waitress was Alejandra she was very nice and helpful. Now on to the food.....yikes. We decided to just order some apps so i can only speak for what i had. The buffalo wings were fried very hard. The calamari was greasy and not fresh and not hot almost as if it sat when the the restaurant wasnt busy. The skin on fries were delish!!! We ordered drinks and i asked the waitress for the bar to make a Malibu Bay Breeze and they didnt know how or had the ingredients to make it i was unsure but that was strange seeing as its a standard cocktail. My mom had the specialty cocktail and loved it. They have a decent size menu. I think next time i was try a burger or pizza but for the first time i was sad to say the food didnt wow me but the vibe of the place was cool. Not sure if there is parking. My partner and I share a birthday, and we came here to celebrate with my family. The ambiance is beautiful. Waiters were nice and polite. The food is amazing. We had 3 orders of fried calamari because they were that good. The traditional pizza was good; our picky eater son had 3 slices, and our 1 year old ate nearly 2 slices. We also had the burrata, mac and cheese, shrimp gnocchi, fries, and braised short ribs. For dessert, we celebrated with a molten chocolate flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. I give this place a -2!! I placed an order through Uber Eats with the intention of picking it up. Realizing that the order had defaulted to delivery, I immediately called the restaurant and spoke with a staff member who assured me the order would be held for pickup. However, upon arriving at 9:05 PM, I was informed that the order had been sent out with a delivery driver despite our prio conversation. When I asked for clarification, the staff member contradicted her earlier assurance and dismissed my concerns. I requested to speak with the manager, Paul, who unfortunately escalated the situation further. His tone was rude and condescending, and rather than offering an apology or solution, he stated that both sides had made mistakes but did not attempt to resolve the issue. I requested a refund of the delivery charge but was told to handle it through the app without any assistance. While I acknowledge that I raised my voice and said some explicative during the exchange, the staff s response was unacceptable. Multiple employees laughed at the situation, and one employee physically confronted me inappropriately, making remarks such as "You want to hit me, then hit me, I know you want to hit me"-- behavior that was both unprofessional and deeply troubling. This experience left me feeling disrespected and perturbed. No apology was offered, and the lack of professionalism demonstrated by both the manager and staff reflects poorly on the establishment. I believe retraining or disciplinary action is warranted to prevent similar incidents in the future. Based on this experience, I will not be returning to The Table and will advise others in the NJ area to avoid it. read more
