Disc Traders has quickly become a shell of its former self. There's currently a sign on the door…read moreproudly proclaiming that it's now independently owned and operated. Sometimes they're only open a few hours a day, some days they're not open at all. "Staffing issues" with Now Hiring signs all over, but never any more employees in the store. It can take hours or days to wait to trade in anything, with "bank issues" incresingly delaying payments. Still, there are treasures to be found. I picked up a blu-ray the other day for $3.99 that sells for $40+ used online. But, the drive across town takes a chance that they may not be open. Inconsistent hours and minimal staff will end up running this place into the ground. It's a shame, because it used to be the premiere spot in Lansing to get used media. Now it's running on the fumes of its former reputation.

There are also some Magic and Pokemón cards and memorabilia. It depends on what you're looking for, but I'd say the prices here are reasonable. The employees were kind and asked if we needed help, but we were just looking around, so we didn't take them up on it. If you're not a nerd, this place might be scary for you. It's big and there are a lot of things that may be hard to understand. That said, if you're looking for an adventure, this is it!

You can order things from their site to get sent to your home or the store and it even has a wishlist feature so they can let you know when they get something in stock! I used to have a dvd collection of over 500 dvds until someone sold them without my permission but this place could help me build it back up to its former glory. I chose to write this in February, the month of love, because I love dvds and anyone who loves me knows how excited I get when I recieve a new movie or tv series. I would literally be in heaven if someone bought be a boat load of movies here for Valentines day, or really any day. She was in her 20s, tall, medium length brown hair and pretty eyes (green?). I told her briefly what I was looking for. Among their absolutely huge, vast, and colorful array of stones and crystals, she explained to me the properties of those that may suit me. She never missed a beat in her defining each one. She then allowed me space so I could wander and decide on those I felt I needed. I left with (3) stones and (2) crystals. This young lady is truly an asset to Coyote Wisdom!
