Mushroom & Egg Toast
Channel E.

My friends and I wanted to eat here before we walked over to go parasailing. There's downstairs and upstairs seating. We were directed to go upstairs to be seated. We wanted to sit by the window, so we let a server know that after the group was done that we'd like to enjoy the view of the beach. He reassured us that we could sit there once they were done cleaning the table. However, as they were cleaning, other patrons decided to claim the seats and tables before they could finish. That let alone, was a bad first impression for all of us. The servers didn't do anything to change the situation. So we digressed. But it's okay, at least the bathrooms are clean and have toilet paper. There's also an automatic 5% service charge added to bill. But let's move onto the food, we ordered different savory meals for ourselves, but we also wanted to do two sweet breakfast items to share amongst the 6 of us. My husband and I shared the Aburi Aligot Corned Beef, but what we really wanted was the Kitayama Beef Tapsilog. However, they had said they ran out .. this was during opening hour on a Saturday morning. I felt bad cause I didn't realize that the dish was going to be as cheesy as it is since my husband is lactose intolerant. I probably would've ordered something else. My cousin and her husband ordered the Breakfast Okonomiyaki and the Chorizo and Eggs. They also said they ran out of the brown sauce that it's drizzled with, which definitely did not help the taste of the dish. My other friend ordered the Bacon and Mango Grilled Cheese Sandwich. My other bestie and her fiance ordered the Beef Burger and the Mushroom & Egg Toast. When they served my bestie, she just gave her dish as an Egg Toast and she was confused. Turns out, they forgot to top it with mushroom. For our dessert breakfast type choices (if you know, you know), we ordered the popular Ube and Cereal Milk Pancakes and the Honey Butter French Toast. But honestly, we all preferred the french toast to the pancakes because the French Toast had a nice crispy outer later. It came with a split banana and some kind of ube cream, which was perfect with each bite. For drinks, my friend ordered the Heirloom Iced Horchata and the Vietnamese Iced Coffee. The Iced Coffee did not taste like Vietnamese Iced Coffee at all. The Horchata was interesting .. I really enjoyed the drink I ordered, which was the All The Way juice drink. It had pineapple, lychee, calamansi, and mint. It was super refreshing! The service was definitely spotty. They ran out of several items during opening. They were giving incomplete dishes. They weren't as friendly as other places we've gone to or apologetic at all. It wasn't anything memorable or great, so it definitely should be worked on. What really saves them is that french toast and those pancakes - and that gorgeous beachfront view!

Finally found it on a tourist map and it is in D'Talipapa plaza; around the corner of my hotel. I went during peak hours and it wasn't busy at all. No sides are included with the seafood prices, not even rice. So expect to spend here. Better to dine with a squad instead of solo - so you can enjoy a broader selection of seafood & sides and split the hefty bill. A live one pound warm water lobster set me back $34 USD! I can get one pound cold water Maine lobsters at 99 Ranch for $8-10 lb. Had I known I could have gotten live Russian king crab in Seoul, I would have skipped the lobster here for this price. According to Joey's review, you can bring your seafood from the wet market outside and have them cook it. This might be a cheaper alternative than buying from them directly. I opted for garlic butter but it tasted a bit odd - like soy sauce was used. So just go with butter. It was cooked properly - not over or under. Service was brisk and they spoke good enough English.

It was just an easy walk from our resort in Astoria Station 1 through the beach to this place. Actually it was quite a nice walk there. When we arrived we were greeted with a nice smile by one of the staff and was offfered immediately a table with an amazing view of the beach. The restaurant is busy but it is clean and organized with a chill vibe. Our server offered us the menu which had so many interesting items to choose from and we elected for a few lattes and different types of entrees. We didn't wait long to be served our meals and they were all Made fresh and presented nicely. We were hungry so we didn't wait to dig in. It was astonishingly good! definitely recommend this place for everyone visiting Boracay!

I wouldn't say that their food wasn't new and interesting, but the execution and fulfillment of my expectations/imagination were issuing. We tried the bacon and mango grilled cheese which was highly recommended by most Redditors and noted on the restaurants menu. They use a bread similar to brioche and it was fluffy and a good option. The lack of excitement in the food itself came from the missing "wow" in the taste. The homemade mango jam was really subtle. The tomato sauce/paste/soup that was provided in the side bowl did not tie the meal together. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I wouldn't consider it soup since it was thick and the tomato flavour really overpowered the taste of everything else on the plate. The shrimp roll was ok - it wasn't bad but it's also not something to write home about. They offered calamansi juice without sugar which was refreshing after a long day in the sun. The staff were kind and they were prompt with our orders. The restaurant caters to a lot of tourists, which is possibly due to its location. There was indoor and outdoor seating and we chose to sit indoors.

I was a little skeptical by the fact that there were such great reviews for this location, but so little number of visitors. The food was not bad, but absolutely nothing outstanding. We ordered mango shake, sangria, gambas al ajillo, paella negra, and lengua de vaca. The taste of the food was not formidable and nothing noteworthy. I've had better Spanish food in Southern California and at a price much less than what they charged. In total, with tax and the automatic tip, our meal came to $117 USD or $164 CAD. The two drinks cost only around $8 USD / $11 CAD. I could not believe the lack of value to food quality and taste at this restaurant. They should not represent a 4+ star rating on Google reviews. I was extremely disappointed that I wasted one of my meals here when I could have been trying another restaurant during our limited time in Boracay. The restaurant could be good for date night vibes, with dim lighting and background music. Their individual bathrooms were clean and easily accessible.

*** 9/5/22 update For the two weeks we have been in Boracay,…read morewe have been here 15+ times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!! Love the food, the people, and vibe! First review: This is one of our favorite places to go on Boracay, if you're in the Bulabog Beach area. It's super chill and relaxing right on the beach. We've been here 3 times already in the past 2 days, so that says something. There are a variety of seating options, at the bar, low top, high top, and even right off the side walk if you want to people watch. The food is good and for a reasonable price. Staff are very warm and welcoming, even getting tips on scuba diving. We went there for breakfast, lunch and dinner! I had the Filipina Cornsilog for breakfast - corned beef, two sunny side eggs, and garlic rice. Not my usual breakfast, but it was good and it came with a side fruit and pressed coffee (tea or juice options as well). I was looking forward to the Tapsilog, but they ran out. My bf had the frittata and he thoroughly enjoyed it. As for lunch, I had ordered the spicy garlic shrimp and a grilled chicken sandwich for the man. One point with the shrimp and it was finger lick'n good! It came with seven shrimp and it was enough as an appetizer. The sandwich was devour in record time! He loved it and already said he's going to get it again tomorrow. And for dinner, I had the pork liempo (pork belly) soy-infused served with rice. My bf enjoyed a grilled vegetable sandwich just as much as the grilled chicken. We'll be coming back for sure!
