Absolutely Phenomenal! the recommendations - on point by Shelby. the insight - on point by Shelby!! the service - PHENOMENAL above and beyond and great timing and awareness of our table. the food? Unbelievably good. compliments to the chef!!!!! highly recommend this place for a nice night out or to get delicious food and enjoy a meal. great atmosphere! I don't write reviews unless its outstanding, it's not my thing. This place was outstanding. Had to write this review.

decided to try the ice house again after 2 years.....hated the food…read morethis is my last time here and will not be back ordered the shrimp dinner $24 with the size of shrimp that comes in Chinese food. the collards were spicy ( i was told they are not ) and the mash potatoes were SOOOOO buttery that i sent them back and refused to eat that amount of butter ..Bright yellow and slimy. the burger plate was supposed to be medium and came to the table cooked WELL. I will say the she crab soup was excellant... but we came for dinner and that was way far below standards considering the check came to $103.96 the soft shell crab for $29 only consisted of one and it was fried so so. we actually wanted it sauteed not fried.. and the check had a Hospitality charge besides the tax which together came to 13%......funny Matts burger 1 block away only charges sales tax...don't like being scammed bottom line..you would think eating the for second time would be better and not worse...think i just skip this HIGH PRICE BAR FOOD

No place like home, or my "club" on Folly Beach, SC where I spent many a weekend listening to live…read moremusic (still doing that here on Friday and Saturday nights) and drinking cold beer. FYI: It is a private club, with membership at a $1 a year. As my wife and I drank a cold beer (this place is still cash only), an elderly gentleman politely walked up and asked if we were waiting on the band. As it was later in the afternoon and the band would not be starting for a number of hours, we explained that we were just coming back in for some nostalgia. Talk about nostalgia, we found out that the gentleman was Richard who was and is the owner of the place for many, many years. The number of times he said I do like to dance and would start moving quite well to the soul/ Hip Hop mix (which is unusual to be heard in the Sand Dollar). When I polightly asked his age, Richard said that he was 81. He stated that he had kept in shape over the years including by Iron Man triathlons. To see his thin body it was difficult to think of him as a triathlete but I did not ask him how long ago he had done a triathlon. Meeting Richard and buying a $15 t-shirt was quite a great experience. I always will return here. Trust me on that.

Nice small place that's easy to miss if you're just driving by. Parking lot is gravel and a bit…read moreuneven and there are stairs to enter and stairs throughout. I have difficulty with steps but there were enough railings to make it navigable for me. The building was likely to have at one time been a small house. There were six of us in our party and we were initially told we would be sharing one bill and the gratuity would be automatically added. A couple of our folks expressed concern and intentionally ordered cheaper items and no drinks to make sure they had adequate funds to split the bill. Fortunately our waitress, who was a joy, did individual bills and did not put on an automatic gratuity. The policy had the potential to seriously reduce the restaurant's income. They should probably rethink this stance. As noted, our waitress was terrific and rapidly got drink and food orders sorted. The menu is pretty short, but probably a good choice for a small pub type restaurant. My wife and I both selected an on-tap local brew, both of which were good and reasonably priced. We both also selected the fish and chips. The order came with a side of cole slaw that was pleasant. The chips were obviously made on site and both properly cooked and well seasoned. We are always surprised at restaurants that serve obviously bagged and frozen fries. The fish itself was reasonably sized and nicely fried. Quite tasty, but we sort of expected good seafood as this is a sister restaurant to a local seafood establishment. For the price the portion sizes of all the meals at the table seemed just a bit small. So we will quite likely return. It's not fancy. It's not high end dining. It's a tad pricey for pub food, but overall pretty good. I note here that had our waitress not been a gem or had they enforced the one check policy, this review would have been a good deal more negative. I suspect they have an accessible entrance but it was not obvious. That may be a consideration for some and checking ahead of time would be prudent.

My sandwich was good, not a great Reuben but a good sandwich. They definitely needed to get more of the water out of the kraut before putting it on the sandwich, and it wasn't really real rye bread. But I liked it. The Brussels and burnt ends were fine but needed a lot more meat, especially for a $4 up charge over fries (and I think they were $9 menu price which is insane for a side). My kid liked his burger and fries and it honestly looked good. Service was fine, or complaints or anything amazing there. I'm usually not a fan of gussied up burgers and fries but this spot was decent and should be a four star place, but the prices were simply not OK. I could have had a whole steak from Outback for the price of a burger here. I've had much better Reubens in big cities like Chicago, NYC, and Montreal that were bigger and with better sides for less money. If I am paying $22 for a sandwich and side it needs to absolutely change my reality and I that just didn't happen here. Prices need to drop here by 25% or more to be fair. J.Ja
