It was remodeled a few years ago so it's not as bad as it was. Has better quality than expected. The drinks are better than the food, but it will be okay if you like greasy things. An unassuming place in a not impressive area. It's got a few parking spaces in front. The place doesn't get too crowded, which is good, because it's kind of cramped inside. Actually impressed how much better it looks inside. Maybe the crowd is tougher, but they're usually not violent. It has great happy hours like $2 wells and lots of other cheap cocktails. They have some fancier ones including even martinis. It's about $5 to get appetizers such as fries. The menu is pretty meaty with burgers and wings. Has the basic fried foods. There's mozzarella sticks and that kind of stuff. Amazingly they have tacos with jerk chicken, shrimp, or steak as meat options. There's not much for vegetarians, which is the only bad thing. A few salads are the healthiest choices. They won't sell many of these to be honest. For sure it was better than expected. It's located on Gardner Street just off Chicago Avenue in an area full of garages and industry. They're open late including weekdays and open later on weekends.

She was so sweet, service with a smile. We started with a couple of their handcrafted cocktails. Hubby had tonight's special drink, a Gold Rush. I had the sister to a Gold Rush, a Bees Knees. It's just a matter of bourbon vs gin. Both are refreshing cocktails made with honey and lemon. We shared the Spanish octopus to begin, a perfectly grilled octopus tentacle in a romesco sauce topped with pico de gallo and toasted almonds. We thoroughly enjoyed it. A generous portion and so tender. Hubby had the Saturday night special, the smoked prime rib. It came with grilled vegetables and truffle fries. He had this speciality last time. This time it was so fatty (see photo). I had the grouper puttanesca with couscous. I love grouper but I felt it was salty. With capers and anchovy, the fish didn't need salt as these things bring salt to the dish. However, our entrees were generous in size and tasty. We definitely like this restaurant. They have a loyalty program, plenty of seating inside and out, a nice bar area and a Vegas-style gaming room. Phoenix Kitchen even nixed using seed oil at their restaurant. We did miss out on the complimentary house-made limoncello this time. What's up with that?!
