After several…read moreconversations with the owner (in person) as well as the female stylist who was scheduled to cut and blow dry my hair (over the phone), I was told they could do what I needed (cut from 3 inches past my shoulders-long to shoulder length and blow dry naturally curly hair). I arrived on time to my appointment, after driving 20 minutes from home and paying for parking only to be seated and looked over by the female stylist several times sighing and going back and forth between saying she could and could not cut my hair. She gave no particular reason, just kept touching it and looking at and repeatedly went back and forth until after ten minutes of being prodded like a zoo animal decided enough was enough. I was able to book a last minute appointment at M Salon in Eastchester and they gave me EXACTLY the shoulder length cut and style I wanted in less than an hour with only a picture and a few words for direction. Very DISAPPOINTED in Salon Shige as my 3-year old son had a great haircut experience with the owner a few months back that prompted me to try them for my own hair. I've had my hair cut and styled almost exclusively in the past ten years by Japanese salons in NYC, so I really can't figure out why this one salon found my hair difficult to work with. Looking at the pictures of the other customers, my hair is similar to many of their past customers. Oh well. My son won't be returning either.

I've been seeing Alyssa for about 6 years and I completely trust her with my hair. She always picks the perfect color for the season, and I leave looking amazing every time. She's great with reschedules, can squeeze me in last minute, and reaches out if I haven't been in a while. She never judges when I show up with more grays than I should, and her coloring and glossing always make my hair look incredible. I wouldn't see anyone else, except Lauren those couple of times!

From the moment you walk into Leticia's gorgeous salon you feel at home. It's beautiful wood finish and pristine artistic design that is well lit with natural sunlight feels as if you are stepping into a magical tree house. The staff is warm and friendly and they immediately made me feel comfortable the moment I got there. Daniella and Amy are excellent and I always feel welcome when I am greeted at the door to the careful way they care for my hair. At this point, I have done color, cuts, blowouts, curls and makeup here and always been happy. Most recently, I was sitting in a chair when I realized that I needed a last minute bouquet and boutonniere for a wedding. Gianna started texting on her phone and had it sorted out in 5 minutes flat!
