Main restaurant to the side of us.

We are starting our 27th Anniversary in highlands. We decided to give this restaurant a try and we were so pleased! We walked in at 6:00 PM to an empty restaurant. We were worried at first but decided to give it a try. So the Ambience was excellent, a restaurant to ourselves. Jared our waiter described some of the main dishes. The two dishes he described; A roasted duck that was out of this world and a Grouper in Thai red curry and coconut sauce. This is a to die for roasted duck with their incredible potatoes and asparagus. One of the best ever duck that I have ever tasted. Crispy skin, juicy, and no fat. The ginger apple dipping sauce was good but the duck was so good I didn't use it. The potatoes were incredible. This was a 6 out of 5! Just WOW! The crispy rice pokè was great. The bang bang prawns are so tasty but not spicy at all. My wife enjoyed the grouper but kept stealing my potatoes. I ordered the coconut cloud cake and added a side of raspberry coulis. The cake was light and coconutty! i highly recommend this place!

Beyond happy this location has opened in the old Midpoint restaurant location. This is a very good location with indoor and outdoor seating. Very impressed with how they fixed it up the decor is a definite Asian vibe which truly matches their food. We had Juliette as our server and she was great, had an awesome attitude and sadly she was working lots of tables this visit so she was constantly on the move. The food was phenomenal. Their calamari fries, the Tokorashi potatoes were very tasty. When it came to the main courses they are very delicious and full of flavor. The Blue prawn pad Thai, the KFC chicken lo mein, and the chicken curry were absolutely great choices. This is a great place and testament to the stubborn restaurant chain. If your in highlands this is a must stop.

This is a very cool restaurant, very lively on the night we went, with an outdoor patio and bar. Our server Josh was very friendly. We ordered the smashed cucumber salad (very good), the blue prawn pad thai (delicious) and the stubborn fried rice (also very tasty). We also had a side of kimchee which was spicy and flavorful. The only negatives were 1) limited menu, and 2) pricey.

Such a fabulous new restaurant in Highlands. The menu is a mix of perfectly paired spices. There is something for everyone. The atmosphere is gorgeous. Outside deck with a view of Main St. The service is impeccable.

Service was excellent, and staff were super helpful in narrowing down the amazing choices. We had the avocado cucumber salad and potatoes to start which was the perfect combo of flavor and crunchy/crisp with freshness from the salad and fat from the potatoes. We shared the chicken curry and wagyu sesame noodles and wow! So much flavor. The Wagyu was perfection and those mushrooms! Didn't save room for dessert this time so will definitely be back.

My friends and I travel to Highlands annually for a girls trip. This is a new spot on Main Street and is an absolute MUST. The food was phenomenal, drinks were lovely and the service was exceptional! Our server, Ayden, made our experience so fun! He was very friendly and attentive. Made our time here quite enjoyable! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun spot for lunch or dinner!

We visited The Subborn Buddha with friends and got several appetizers to share, we each got an entree, and we shared a dessert, and every single thing we ordered was amazing! I had the Asian Salad and I'm still thinking about it! The service was great too. Our table was ready at the time of our reservation and our server was very attentive. Highly recommend and hope to come back one day!

Eclectic restaurant that was very good. The service was excellent if you want Thai/Asian, this would be a good place to go.

It is located in downtown Asheville so there is no immediate parking lot but there are some places nearby or street parking, The inside is very modern and there is seating both inside and outside. Our server was very friendly and service was very prompt! My family got the Lo Mein with Chicken, Chow Fun with Beef, Sautéed String Bean, Buddha Bean Curd Rolls, Crystal Shrimp Dumplings, and Spicy Chicken. I loved the Crystal Shrimp Dumplings! The wrapper was very tender and the shrimp filling was delicious. It tasted very authentic to me. I also loved the Sautéed String Bean as it had the right amount of garlicky sauce. The Lo Mein was made with thinner than usual noodles but still tasted good. I think the Chow Fun tasted a bit off. It kind of tasted a bit sweet and like drunken noodles at some points as opposed to the traditional smoky flavor that the dish has. The rice noodles that were used were also thin as opposed to the usual wider noodles. As for the Spicy Chicken, it tasted solid. I liked the slight crisp before biting into each piece and it was not really spicy. I definitely tasted the cumin (I am not a super big fan of), which is a popular flavor found in Szechuan cuisine. Overall, I think this is a nice spot for some Chinese food, especially being near the mountains which is more isolated. I wish chicken feet were part of their dim sum menu (it is pretty small and there are no rolling carts in case anyone is wondering). I do think some flavors of the food I tasted seem to cater a bit more to the Western taste palate (my parents agree as well), but I enjoyed my time here.
