Service was great and food was very, very good except for my fish being a bit overcooked. The fish itself was delicious, but the crust was a bit burnt. I tried my dining companion's fried eggplant and it was amazing. I shared the fish and chips and the figalicious flatbread with my friend and we were both happy (except for the little bit of burnt taste to my fish). My friends enjoyed the veggie burger and another order of fish and chips that looked less brown than mine was. All in all, good food, great service and lots to offer! Amendment: the staff was so friendly and I saw that they had so much more to offer as I was on my way out of the restaurant that I had to upgrade my review to 5 stars! The fresh fish and seafood, the meat and cheese, and all the wines offered for sale were wonderful. The staff happily posed for a picture. Love this!

Food is horrible. I ordered a burger and it tasted like it had liquid smoke in the meat. I literally could not take another bite, it was so bad. The manager allowed me to exchange it for another sandwich. So, I ordered a reuben sandwich and it was dripping in grease. I ate it without saying anything because, at this point, it was hopeless. We ordered the fried string beans, and they were decent. Our waitress was more interested in talking to her other waitress friends than in serving us. Then, I go to use the restroom and there are NO WOMEN'S RESTROOMS !!! Only 2 unisex restrooms. What are we in a gas station in timbuktu that just lets anybody in willy nilly ? Ewwww that is so nasty ! This is a restaurant. I will not be returning.

This place is like a little bottle shop and butcher, and then there's a casual restaurant in the back. I wish we'd sat on the patio, as I believe there's live music til 9 on Fridays. But we had trouble understanding the hostess and ended up sitting inside. All good! The booths could use some new cushions but we were happy. The space has a bar area and some tables. Food menu was sandwiches and then there were some entrees. I really enjoyed my gnocchi and had lots of leftovers. My partner chose the red corvette burger and would he liked but didn't love. I will say, the zucchini fries were so yummy and I would get them again every time. This was a nice little spot in Belmont, on that main little area of town, close to the parking lot. We popped in after listening to music in the park and it was the perfect date night. Happy with the experience!

Always happy to modify orders, friendly and helpful staff (many of whom have worked there for years - very knowledgeable). Great wine and beer shop!

Not safe for celiac or gluten-free. Wait staff did not even mention to the chef that I am gluten free as I asked her to.

While this is only my first brewing goods store, I seriously dig it. Can I thank the gods of the 21st Amendment to the US Constitution that ultimately led to a time in space where we can experiment with chemistry and brew our own beer? If you want to start brewing and have never done it before, you don't need to look any farther than here. They have starter kits with everything you could need for both small (1 gal) and large (5 gal) batch home brewing. There's a bucket, gallon jug, air lock, thermometer, hydrometer (both glass), bottle capper and sanitizing solutions. I'm probably missing something too. All you need to buy in addition would be the pot for boiling and some caps. Drink yourself a few beers and save the bottles for when you've made your own. Last but not least, you'll need a kit. Here they prepackage several kits for different beer styles and get it all ready for you to simply grab and go. There are 1 gal and 5 gal batch options. I've bought the Irish Red (a good first-timer beer), Hefeweizen and Oktoberfest. There are at least 5 other types that I've seen. If you're more experienced or a bit of a traditionalist, you can even build your own recipe from scratch or online guides. They have buckets of bulk dry grains and malt you can scoop to your delight. If you're in need of supplies to increase your output, cooling time, measurements, for kegging, they've got just about everything here. Including, to my surprise, things for brewing wine and even sake. The prices aren't bad, I guess. But again, I've got little to no experience and I've also heard this is the only shop in Charlotte selling this stuff so they may be able to get away with charging a premium. For now, I love this new hobby of mine and can't recommend this store more!

I worked in the high demanding medical field as a licensed medical assistant for 10 years making nearly $10 more and hour than what I made as an employee at Harris Teeter, but after having my son and being out of the workforce for 3 years, I landed upon a job doing something involving a much loved enthusiasm of mine that involves one of their retail departments. I thought that I had picked a job that might involve typical retail workplace stressors, but nothing prepared for the toxic environment I was about to experience. On my first day of work, my department manager made it known to me that they resented the fact that I was hired without previous experience and not by them specifically. From day one on, my manager proceeded to give me minimal training. My manager's department rules and day-to-day methods for the way they EXPECTED me to do certain tasks were condescending and changed from one breath to the next or were completely not communicated to me. I was frequently yelled at and berated with customers present by my department manager on a daily basis as a result. My manager was doing this stuff on purpose. It was manipulation tactic to drive me out. I was constantly walking on eggshells and never knew if I was doing the task at hand correctly according to the rules of the day, which obviously gave me massive amounts of anxiety. The department manager also tried their best to manipulate me into thinking I had no choice but to work on my specified unavailable days during a certain holiday week because our specific department was known for being extremely busy during this holiday. It did not matter to my manager that working those days would create a financial hardship for my family. I would essentially be paying a babysitter my entire day's worth of pay. Upper management essentially gave my department manager a "firm talking to" 3 times in regards to the way they would yell at me me, but then turned around and gaslighted me by saying that I needed to "be faster" and "more productive" because if I was faster at processing trucks and handling customer service, my manager would have the time to train me properly. Don't even get me started on the constant gossiping going on in that store. On my first day of work, I must have had at least 5 people approach me to tell me some horror story about my boss being terrible at work towards other employees and things my manager does in their life outside of work. Working at Harris Teeter in Belmont had a negative impact on my mental health for the 5 months I worked there. I finally had enough and quit my job there, which was one of the most liberating experiences I've ever had. I honestly have lost total respect for the company as a whole because of my experience as an employee for this store. Fortunately for me, I can move on and get back to playing with my plants at home and flowers in the garden this spring and summer.
