We'd would often chat for about ten minutes even though it was in the middle of their busy lunch hour. It was my first few months living in Auckland but this couple made me feel right at home. As regards the food and coffee, I can tell you now they were excellent - which is why I went there every day. Coffee was smooth and rich and I often use to get a smoked salmon bagel - it was really good and unlike a lot of other cafes they were generous with the salmon.
