I really want to love this place but there were just a few little things. The place- wonderful smell of fresh coffee. Has a gigantic long table in the middle and bar seating on the side. Some outside seating as well. Coffee- unfortunately ran out of their single origin today. I got I guess the house blend? Earthy, smooth, pretty good. Service- The barista is not as knowledgable as some others. I asked if they do pour over or V60, she told me yes but she doesn't know how. That's where she left it. I ordered a steampunk. Definitely interesting watching her make it. She didn't tell me exactly what beans she used. Price- average Auckland price. Others- no internet from Mojo but you can get free internet from the city. Has power outlets.

Since the first glance of Mojo by the waterfront in Wellington, I couldn't move my mind on this coffee brand. The simple turquoise color, classic coffee cup and last but not least, the perfect cup of coffee that comes to you. No wonder I could be easily caught by this Mojo, even though it hides itself deep in a tiny alley. The familiar color and the distinctive aroma from Mojo roasted coffee beans. Walk in, again it is a simple art work. Long table to share seats, you can find your own place or easily have a chat with friends face to face. The back counter is like a modern refurbished kitchen. Classic bites to go with your coffee such as brownie, scones or, you can just sit back and order a coffee. As for me, always try latte as it is my love. If it comes out with a heated glass, right temperature, correct proportion of espresso and frothy milk, you are blessed. Yes, In Mojo you are mostly blessed by the coffee effect. Enjoy.

Great friendly service,to go with great coffee

Located right in the centre of Mt Eden Village, Chapter is a cool little bookstore and tea shop…read morethat is hugely popular among locals. If you're a tea lover like myself, then this is the place for you! English breakfast, Earl Grey, Vanilla Rooibus, a wide range of fruit teas, flower blends and foreign teas - there is seriously every kind of tea you can imagine in this store! Not only can you buy the teas in Chapter, you can also purchase a pot of tea while you have a quiet read or study up on your uni notes. Tea pots and other such tea accessories are also readily available and are all super cute and colourful. Chapter is a great place to find a novel gift - perfect for your nana, aunt, mum or bestie - and better yet, if you gift some of their scrummy tea to someone close to you, you can drink it too! Yesssss. Chapter also stock a hoard of novels - romance novels in particular - so not only can you enjoy a hot cuppa, but you can buy a deliciously sappy tear jerking Nick Sparks page turner at the same time. The staff at Chapter are brilliantly friendly and the owner of the store knows everything there is to know about romance novels, and can easily steer you in the right direction. Tip: Just because it specialises in tea doesn't mean you can't purchase other hot drinks from Chapter. Coffee, hot chocolates, Chai tea, cakes and other sweet treats are also available.

Cakes and Ladders - Great place!

As a massive nerd, I have to say, I'm so happy this place exists…read more Cakes and Ladders is, as far as I know, Auckland's only board game cafe. They have an impressive stock of board and card games--for adults and for families--the nicest, friendliest staff you could ask for, and a comfy interior setup for your hours of board gaming pleasure. The coffee is pretty decent as well, although none of my friends nor I have tried the food menu just yet. Here's how it works: you walk in, you pick a table, and the staff start your timer. Then you can either pick a game or have one recommended to you based on pretty much whatever criteria you want, and if it's a new game to you, the (again, wonderfully friendly) staff explain the rules and setup to you. Then you play--for hours, if you want. At $2.50 an hour, it's a steal. (Also, they're currently awaiting their liquor license, so although there's no alcohol there yet, just you wait. Craft beers are on their way!) They close at 10pm, I believe, at least on the weekends, but once the booze arrives, I'm hoping they stay open a wee bit later. I'm definitely going back, often.

They have a specific shelf full of games that require only 2 players. A great way to spend an afternoon or evening. Can get noisey but adds to the fun.
