Thank you fellow yelpers! Score another one for RonDMC! Being new to Auckland, I wanted to discover a 'breakfast of champions' type of place. And after reading several reviews for Albert Park Cafe, I believe I've found it. A smart and simple little cafe, located right next to Albert Park itself. We walked in and immediately loved the clean cafe wooden table look. It has a homey type of feel inside, but after ordering we chose to eat outside since it was a clear sunny day. Not knowing what to order, we were helped by George and another cheerful girl (sorry forgot her name). So, I didn't want the usual omelet only because I usually make those myself. So, here's what we ordered: ~ Muffin of the Day ($4.50): This was like a sweet roll with ham, cheese, and I believe basil. It was basically a roll baked in a muffin pan. Really really soft and tasty. Kinda reminds me of a filipino sweet ensaymada. Not bad combo-ing it with an expresso either. ~ Mushrooms on Toast ($15.50) with a soft poached egg and fresh parmesan: Now this definitely was different. Shrooms in the morning, mmm mmm! The creamy sauteed sauce was simply divine. There was probably three or four various mushrooms in there as well; Cremini, portobello, and possibly a shiitake or oyster type. I just placed it on top of my sour dough, broke open that poached egg, and damn pure bliss in my mouth. Like I had mentioned, it's a simple little place with simple little plates. Okay okay, so it may not really be 'breakfast of champions', but I sure felt like one after starting my day here. Their latte's aren't that bad either. Loved the food, adored the atmosphere, cheers to the helpful staff. I'll be back!
We stopped by for a nice breakfast to start our day of wandering in Auckland. We were visiting from the Bay Area in Northern California and the coffee + food here easily bests the morning offers in San Francisco. This cute cafe is worth a visit from out of towners. It was nice to see so many locals also eating here: that's always a good sign :) Thanks for the great service and food, George!
I have had very limited time to wander Auckland, it stumbling on this place MADE MY DAY. Well maybe not my day, but definitely my morning (can't beat Waiheke wine tours!). Cutest little shop. Order inside then sit outside in the cutest benches for people watching and gazing at the beautiful Albert Park. I got the amazing Spanish chorizo omelet and it blew my tastebuds outta the water! Butter your sourdough toast, slap some cheesy egg and chorizo on top, take a huge bite, and tell me your tastebuds don't smile... I dare you.

Food is decent but can be better, and as soon as I sat down the place became packed! I didn't know it's such a popular little spot! Judging from the reviews of others I ought to try out their coffee next time! But this time I'm rather disappointed.
Amazing little breakfast place near Albert park. We were a party of four and decided to try out this cute little cafe for our very first meal in NZ. The food was delicious and flavorful. The bread and croissant were heavenely and were served right from the oven. We ordered the Spanish Omelette (without the Chorizo), Park Starter, ginger lemon tea, sencha and Americano. Great options for vegetarians. Would highly recommend this place for breakfast. You won't be disappointed.
Their Park Starter plate (plus a side dish of hasbrowns) is the best vegetarian breakfast in Auckland. Add a freshly baked brioche and a soy cappuccino, then you have my favourite Saturday morning treat. The other dishes we've tried have been tasty and consistent. The place feels cozy and familiar, and the chef and the waitress are both friendly. It's a nice place to be whatever the weather outside. I wish I could keep it a local secret but I also want it to succeed and stay there for a long, long time.
At the advice of fellow yelpers I visited here on a sunny winter morning. Appearances can be deceiving as the basic and rundown interior contrasts with the great food and coffee. Long black was velvety and the Mr Benedict was served with fish finger shaped hash browns and creamy hollandaise sauce. Eggs cooked perfectly with lashings of bacon. Only downside was that the sauce disappeared quickly leaving the final hash browns a bit dry.
I love this cafe, and they love me back. Serving up toasted espresso coffee the staff and owner are happy and positive and always dish out smiles for free. The menu consists of top-quality wholesome home-made food, often organic and free range too. This is a cafe that has a huge amount of support from the local businesses for the simple reason it is awesome and friendly, yep the staff will very quickly learn your name. If you can manage the walk up the steep Albert Park end of Victoria Street stop in for a coffee or a bite and see what keeps the locals coming back.
Albert Park Café is one on those tucked away spots that locals, business people and students alike seem to love. Overall, I think this is due to their personable staff and reasonably priced, simple but delicious food. I came here recently with a F.I.S (friend in suit) for a mid-week CBD lunch. The place was busy but we were able to nab a seat on the sizable sofa in the corner, which suited us just fine. The menu is lengthy, although we both fancied the look of the lentil and beetroot salad with haloumi and candied walnuts ($15). It came out lickety split, was a decent size and the flavour combo was delish. I am hardly in the CBD at lunch and there are so many great places to try in the area that I'm not 100% sure I will be back. Nevertheless, we both left full, happy and ready to tackle an afternoon of hard yakka.
Great coffee and a variety of breakfasts, you can even build your own. Staff is super friendly and will offer suggestions on what to do in Auckland, talk to George. Place opens early too 630. After breakfast take a stroll across the street in Albert park a historic landmark and enjoy the hundred year old trees and the views.
This was a lovely spot we discovered near-ish our hotel. We had breakfast here almost daily on our last trip. This cafe was consistently fantastic. Food was fast, warm, fresh, and the eggs were always JUST PERFECT, as you can see from the photos. What a great place to start your day. read more

Don't you just LOVE finding the cutest eateries in the most unassuming places?! That's exactly how I found this little cafe. Just outside of Albert Park in CBD on a side street was this brunch bistro. The staff was immediately hospitable and was happy to help you. I ordered a mushroom omelette and iced Americano. After paying I sat down in a little reading nook, decorated with a couch, coffee table and BOOKS! How awesome! My coffee came out right away so I was able to enjoy it a bit before my meal came. My omelette came out on a skillet and was absolutely delicious. The vibe in this cafe was relaxed and welcoming - I could've stayed for hours! But I had errands to run, so alas I left. This will definitely be on my brunch to dos next time I'm in Auckland! read more

We came for breakfast here every day during our stay. Food excellent. Every day they serve a different array of treats. Some savory treats too! WiFi was good. Across from Albert Park, and you can sit outside and see the amazing trees. The most friendly service! When I asked the young man behind the counter, who was the chef, because of the presentation and taste of the brioche they were serving that day, he said, "Oh, I made that. I just make what I like to eat!" Then he told me the recipe! They made our breakfast to order every day with avocado on the side, since we are on a keto diet. Thanks, everybody! read more

Very lovely little cafe, over looking beautiful Albert Park. Delicious, freshly prepared breakfast options- the mushrooms on toast is heavenly! Ambiance is cozy, with pleasant music and plenty of reading material on the coffee tables. Everything one looks for in a cafe! Card only- no cash. read more

Slightly bigger than a hole in the wall, across from the park, we stumbled into this place. Absolutely fantastic food, full of charm, very friendly owner and stuff. Probably are best meal so far in Auckland. It was inexpensive and unpretentious while exploding with flavor. read more

Food is superb. Staff is very friendly!!! Like every restaurant in Auckland, pretty pricey (when compared to the price I'd pay back in the States). I love the view of Albert park you get from this tiny cafe. Nice and quiet. Definitely a place to read a book and have breakfast on a rainy day(: read more

Absolutely wonderful little spot. Tucked up the street from busy Queen Street and sitting across the street from the park, this cafe is indeed as wonderful as all the other reviews indicate. The space is open and bright. The service is friendly. The food is fresh and super delicious. There is a wide variety of freshly baked pastries that all look yum yum yum. In addition to all the usual coffee offerings, they also have a wide selection of tea and even a few smoothies (including a play on a mango lassi!). I had the mushrooms on toast and wow oh wow I wish I was able to replicate that at home. It's amazing. Mushroom is a light cream sauce with herbs and a light dusting of Parmesan. Topped with a crazy fresh poached egg and served with two slices of yummy sourdough. Use that bread to soak up all the yummy mushroom sauce. Yuuuuummmmmmm. read more

Second day straight hanging out at Albert Cafe. Definitely the great service and delicious food and coffee hooked me. Plus free wifi and not crowded is a plus! Park starter with a side of two poached eggs first day was nice. Today having the homemade granola and fruit, yum. read more

It's daffodil day tomorrow and today you are greated by a lovely large living flower as your host. The warm welcome matched the great food. This is a little jem of a stop (not sure I want to share it?). Daffodil day cup cakes too; check the photos. read more

As the name suggests, Albert Park Cafe looks out onto the greenery of Albert Park, making for a peaceful escape away from the surrounding inner-city bustle. The cicadas from the park buzz loudly in the summer, drowning out much of the noise from traffic and therefore making your strong, well-brewed coffee all the more enjoyable. The menu is also charmingly eco-conscious, which ties in nicely with the next-to-nature setting of the cafe. Free farmed bacon, organic chicken pies, and even eco-friendly napkins are all part of what you'll find at Albert Park Cafe. I would recommend ordering a tasty brioche or scone to go with your coffee, and sitting down on the comfy couch in the corner with the newspaper available for cafe patrons. And don't forget to get a loyalty card, because if you are frequent city-goer then, like me, you'll probably be back for more. read more

This is a great place for breakfast if you are visiting Auckland. Just a few steps from busy Queen St across from a park. My poached eggs were cooked perfectly and the restaurant was warm and inviting with very friendly staff who were happy to help with my many tourist questions. They have wi fi too. read more

It is a lovely cafe nice for braekfast. With view on the albert park. Free wifi. Only a small cafe so thereare a limited seatings. But for. Party of one is fine. Nice service. Good food. I mr. Benedict nice really delicios. read more
