We learned that the facility was unsecured at the time, with the front gate left open. The security camera on our building was also broken, so thieves had easy, unsecured access to our property. Management and the owner knew this and chose not to alert any customers! Since the burglary, employees have treated my husband and me like total garbage. We've lost everything we have cared about--haven't we been through enough? Apparently not! We have been lied to over and over and over again. We get ghosted for months at a time. Their protection plan/insurance refuses to pay because they say there is no evidence of a crime. We have to rebuild our lives from scratch, while they keep adding insult to injury. Then I come on Yelp and see that this is not an isolated incident! This exact scam has been going on for YEARS, and these clowns keep getting away with it! Please take these horror stories seriously and choose another property. Also, really read positive reviews thoroughly; it is very clear they are phony. Called them back monday and the lady says she can't send me a receipt and that I need to drive 12 hours just to cancel in person! It's 2018 y'all...This unit has been empty nearly a month! Don't pain yourself with this company if you are doing an out of city/ out of state move. They will suck all the money they can out of you. I contacted the location and Kelsey was so kind, and understanding, and corrected the issue immediately. I was so relieved. I am trying to do so many things at once in preparing to move my college student home for the summer and Kelsey took a huge weight off of my shoulders by making this quick correction. Also, when reserving online, the system only allows a 2-week in advance reservation. Since mine is 1 month out, I was not allowed to reserve the space. Kelsey promptly took care of this as well. I selected this company and location due to the outstanding reviews that I read online. I'm taking care of all this from North Texas and Kelsey's help has been a lifesaver. I've always paid rent on time and 6 months in advance to get the 7 month's rent free. Although my next payment was not due until Oct. 1, today I got a delinquent notice in the mail because the management had changed the terms in Paragraph 6 , Special Provisions, of the "Self Service Storage Rental Agreement" without notifying me in writing. When I expressed my concern, the management told me that businesses changed policies all the time without notification. Management was argumentative and unreasonable but later agreed to wave the late fee. Also without notification, I was informed that The Storage Company no longer honors Paragraph 38 of the Rental Agreement which entitles tenants refunds of prepaid rents. The management would not give out the owner's phone number; however, it was said that one of the owners, Lindsey Adame, would be given my phone number and she would return my call. I then researched the owners of the company and located the phone number, and when I called, the owner wasn't available. I left a detailed message. I now wait for their reply.
