Windsor Royal Station is a nice little shopping mall located in the heart of Windsor, right across…read morethe way from Windsor Castle. It serves as a shopping mall and a train station. You'll find shops for apparel and accessories, fragrance, jewelry, and even cigars. There's also a number of eateries, coffee shops, and a pretty little milk tea/boba cafe. Whether you just want to grab and go or sit down and relax, there's something for everyone. We browsed around for a bit, but mostly went there to check out the pretty milk tea shop which was surprisingly tasty! The decor was lovely as well and I can still taste that wonderful cheese tea topping. Overall, it's a nice, quick stop while in Windsor. They do close quite early at 6pm (except on Sundays, they close at 5pm), so plan accordingly.

Now I'm not sure if Windsor Royal Station is considered to be where the solitary train track is and…read morethe ticket window, or if it's the whole building that consists of shops, several restaurants and cafes and even an art gallery. I'll assume that it's the whole thing. The train side of the whole thing is, as I said, just one track. The train goes into the nearby town/city of Slough. And I'm pretty sure that is the only place that it goes. From there you change trains for other destinations such as London in one direction and Reading in another. There is also another train station that is about a 10-15 minute walk from this one though and I caught that train the other day to Twickenham (London) to see the rugby. Overall, it's a nice old-y world-y comfortable feeling that the place gives you. You can shop at the outdoor (really indoor) market stall or have a cup of coffee or even a really good meal at one of the cafes and/or restaurants. Obviously a great place to be when its raining outside.

Great reviews on Yelp guided us to The English Bus for our tour of Stonehenge. I liked the idea of…read morea small group tour. We had a great experience! We easily booked on line a couple months in advance of our trip to Stonehenge, Bath and a Secret Place. I had a few questions, which were answered quickly through email. Instructions and itinerary were provided after we bought we tickets. Additional and helpful information was sent a few day prior to our trip. Noelh, our tour guide, was knowledgable, interesting and fun from the moment he picked us up in London. He provided information beyond the tour stops. He was engaging and had a good understanding of the geology of Stonehenge as well as the historical background. He made well time stops for breaks. We spent about two hours at Stonehenge, two hours at Bath and an hour at the Secret Place. The Secret Place was worth the extra and I highly recommend. Noelh offered a brief and interesting walking tour at each site and left us time to explore on our own. We were allowed to bring snacks on the bus but we didn't need them because we stopped plenty at places for food and drink. Noelh provided water. Bring water and rain gear. There were UBC ports for phone charging on the bus. The bus was very comfortable. Noelh was sensitive to a woman that was having mobility issues and arranged for her to skip part of the walking tour. I enjoyed Stonehenge and the Secret Place immensely, I was glad I saw Bath, but it was too crowded during our visit. Others on the tour really loved Bath. I highly recommend The English Bus tours.

The small bus is great in that you don't have to spend all the time getting on and off a huge tour bus. Alex was an amazing guide, giving us local knowledge and clear directions where to go and where to meet back up. He was funny, kind and a great driver. Would definitely book again!!

This museum opened back in October 2016, so my visit today was my first, and what a sweet place it…read moreis. Located on the lovely Pinner Memorial Park, the setting couldn't be nicer. It's an easy walk from Pinner station. It's currently only open Friday-Sunday, but I booked in a group tour and took along 15 people. You enter through the ubiquitous gift shop, which isn't large but has a changing range of items by local artists, as well as books and other little things that I totally wanted. There are 3 rooms - an activity studio, a temporary exhibition, and a permanent exhibition. We couldn't go into the activity studio as it was being used for a half-term activity - glass painting. But there was a sign saying that on a Friday, they have an artist who uses the room to sketch and you are welcome to go in and watch and ask questions. The permanent exhibition is chronological and it was really interesting to see the variety of work that Heath Robinson did - but as ever, having a tour makes a big difference as you get a lot of context and little stories that bring it all to life. The temporary exhibition is currently on the brothers Robinson, and had a great breadth of work from the three Robinsons, including items on loan from the family, things that haven't ever been seen before. The group I brought (all over 60s) were fascinated by the whole thing. Even though I went along knowing very little about Heath Robinson, I enjoyed my visit, too. Our group tour was £5 per person, and another £30 for the steward to do the tour. Normal tickets are £6-ish.
