I wish I had completed the tour earlier in my trip because that would have given me time to revisit some of the spots. In addition, other areas of interest were pointed out during the tour. I like the tour is free because I can just show up during a time that works for me rather than make a reservation and need to change / cancel it later. If you're in the city as a tourist, plans may change without notice, so having flexibiluty is really nice. Well done !

He covered over 1000 years of history over the two hour walk. We started at Trafalgar Square, through Royal London (seeing the beginning and up close changing of the guard) then to St. James Park, on to Downing Street, Big Ben and so many other great historical locations. There is no cost for the tour, and the guides work solely on tips, but there was no pressure at all to do so. We tipped 20 pounds and it was worth every penny. You can tell Andrew loves what he does, and likes meeting new people. It was so good we went back for the 6:30 pm London's Ghostly Haunts Walk, but were 7 minutes late and missed it. TIP: Get there on time!

It was great to listen to his commentary and also to march along beside them as they made their way to Buckingham Palace. We were able to see them from a few different spots and then we hung out at Buckingham Palace to take photos for a while before heading down to where the guards return after they're done. We would not have known about their return trip if it weren't for the information we got from Alex. It really was a great experience!

As an American however, it felt that a lot of the British humor didn't quite connect. Being used to American humor, I didn't find the jokes to be hilarious. I would imagine it would be significantly funnier with a larger understanding of the culture here and appreciation for the dry British comedic style. I'd give the idea a 10/10 but the execution here seemed to be about a 6/10. Many jokes could be improved upon, and the humor was more silly than clever. The idea is much funnier than the actual jokes, so there is a lot of room for improvement on this idea. I would rate the experience as a 3 star one for Americans, but most likely a 4 star one for locals. There is a LOT of potential in this terrific idea.

We were taken to many photo spots and I love all the context we get. Dave the tour guide was so knowledgeable and super kind. On these tour he tells your tips on how to navigate around the city and etiquette. He was willing to give recommendations and directions when the tour ends too. Remember that these tours had a lot of research done and that you should tip as much you think it is worth. These tours are such worth it as they can build some structure on the trip. You book by emailing him, meet round the corner from Liverpool Street and he takes you on a 2 hour tour around london's east end for free (though, the tour is that good you will want to give him a heavy tip at the end) Ive been round this area on many occasions but thing were pointed out and explained and without being too dramatic, completely changed how i look at the area. We saw works by Banksy, Stiks, and T.wat and given a real sense of what the work meant. and what it was doing for society - Stiks has used street art to transform his life old life as someone who was homeless to someone who now holds exhibitions around the world. and others who have since set up charities. very compelling stuff. Learning about the history area of Jewish / bangladesh settlement, and the more current artist versus bankers territorial struggle was fantastic too. SOOOOOO cant recommend this enough. made me proud to live in london.

We began the tour with a backstory of the neglected town of Whitechapel and continued the tour following in "Jack's" footsteps. Out of all of the tours we had in London, this was the most educational and compelling. Parts of the tour include photos of the women that were brutally murdered and Ivan would warn us to look away if we weren't interested in seeing them. I would highly recommend this tour, and I'm not a true crime podcast girlie.

The ghost stories were pretty chilling but the tour actually felt like more of a myths, legends, and history tour with some hauntings thrown in. Problem? Not at all; I actually really liked the various stories. He even shows you film locations when you pass them like from Mary Poppins Returns which I'd just watched on the flight across the pond. I was worried we wouldn't be able to locate our guide but you don't need to worry about that in the slightest as he comes dressed in something straight out of the Haunted Mansion at Disney (love!). Like his costume, he gives the tour a very theatrical show. A passionate guide makes for an entertaining tour! While the tour didn't exactly fully satisfy my craving for a paranormal experience in London, I think it was worth doing. I hadn't heard any of these histories or legends and they span from brushes with the devil to literary influences so there is something for everyone! It's a fun way to take in the city in a way you wouldn't have seen it before. I'd recommend not leaving this to the end of your trip like we did, however! The guide, Richard, is friendly and appropriately theatrical as he brings the crowd from landmark to landmark. The narrow alleyways we traipsed through included the one where Dickens set Ebenezer Scrooge's office, below a sit of windows reputedly haunted by a young girl in white. There were a few graveyards along the way and even a haunted cobblestone (warming: don't bring it home as one girl apparently did!). Our guide also stopped to show us where some Diagon Alley scenes were shot, adding that he has a free PDF guide to all the Harry Potter spots on his website. At the tour's end he recommended we take the glass elevator up to the top of a shopping centre opposite St. Paul's cathedral. The view of the cathedral and surrounding landmarks (the Pickle and the London Eye) was breathtaking. Take this tour even if ghost stories aren't your thing: it's all about London's past (we even passed some remains of the wall of the original Roman city of Londinium & stood within the boundary of a coliseum). But do wear comfortable shoes and prepare for a long walk!
