The Kitchen tour is a special tour at the Windsor Castle.
The kitchen tour is a special tour provided for a fee inside the Windsor Castle complex It is one of the many sights that you can see while you are there. The others are the St. George Chapel, the Doll House, the State Apartments and the various Wards and gardens. Entry is via a separate purchased ticket into the complex. The ticket for the complex is good for a year so if you plan on returning at any time in the next 365 days get the stamp it only took a couple of minutes. No pictures are allowed inside the building but that leaves the visitor plenty of area to take pictures outside the buildings on the grounds. You have to sign up for the kitchen tour and meet at a tent on the grounds. The tour takes about an hour and takes you through the actual working kitchens when there are no staff present. The tour guides did an excellent job narrating the various parts of the walk and showing the architecture revealed following the fire in 1992. This was a special tour that gave me a better insight into the use of the kitchens both past and present. read more
