The name sounded super familiar to me, so I had a hunch it might be the same owners/shop as the one they had in Austin (which is no longer around), and it was!!!!! We walked into a giant space with many records, genres, and great vintage music items you can take pictures of and post on the 'gram. They have so many vintage posters and items hanging all over the walls and ceilings here! Take your time as you look around, as there are so many artists and genres you may want to have and collect for yourself. I found a rare vinyl LP of all San Antonio artists (old and new) that I could not have found anywhere else. It was an excellent price for such a great find! I even found an excellent 1970s stand-up live comedy stint that Cheech and Chong did in LA here that is excellent quality and has beautiful pictures inside the LP. The employees were super helpful, too, and even offered to recommend an artist or bands to listen to if you let them know you were down. There are turntables and headphones for you to plop down the record you are considering and give it a spin before you buy it. Parking is located at the back of the building with no fuss. There seems to be some construction along the front of the building, so I am unsure if you can park there once that is done. I have added this shop as a stop whenever I visit San Antonio, as it is a unique record gem hidden in SA.

They even have a section dedicated to Numero Group releases, which I thought was super rad. If you want to try your hand at the bargain bin, there's a room with 50-cent records, too. There is a section near the front (you'll need to kneel) of clearance records underneath some New Arrivals. The folks who work here know and love music, so if you have any questions, I'm sure they'd be happy to chat about it.

I always end up walking out with more than 2 records each visit as their pricing and selection is worth visiting each time. The layout of the shop is great. I recommend starting left side of the shop and work your way around to the right side. You will find all genres sorted out and organized in a very simple and easy to navigate way. Most of the newest arrivals (from folks who are selling or trading their records in) to the back left side. I like starting here just in case I end up finding something cool that just came in. It's a nice way to be able to see what came through to the shop in the last day or two and these records are always diverse in genre. I really enjoy the vintage collection the shop has as decor here. I have seen 8-track players, lunch boxes, older posters from classic albums, cassette players, and even some cool nostalgic childhood toys. I kept smiling at each vintage or throwback items I saw that often tells you "not for sale" or "NFS" stickers on it. As a record collector I take the condition of records seriously before purchasing. I am the annoying record collector who will slide the record out of the sleeve and bend it up to the light to check for scratches, dirt, dust, etc. The last few visits at Crazy Rhythms I have been purchasing and not checking the condition or quality because I trust what I am getting is going to be playable and no bumps/hiccups when I do play them. You will get very good to high-quality records here no doubt. Just heads up - every record collector should know that the cheaper the price (aka clearance or discounted items) usually the quality will suffer but THAT IS NOT THE CASE HERE. You will get better than great quality records and anything that is priced low is probably overstock, common record/selection, and is always priced fairly. You can trust in this record store. Trust. Parking is super easy - just pull right up to the front of the store or park in the private lot. Even when the tourist attractions are busy around the store you will most definitely be able to stop in without having to worry about parking. Parking is never a thing for me even when Fiesta is happening. Check out the selections I have picked up in the few times I have come thru in my photos.

Ever since COVID, it seems like it has tried to become a Texas thrift trying to promote clothes, but did not do it successfully. Their prices and value are also not quite up to par. Compared to similar thrift stores in the area. My biggest issue today? Customer service was absolutely unacceptable. I feel like they were uncomfortable because of all the pictures I was taking? The two ladies in front kept staring and whispering to each other and looking back at me. I decided to give them the benefits of the doubt- they must have better things to talk about? I had nothing with me but my mobile, so why were they following me around? I looked through the clothes for about twenty minutes, then went over to the shoes, then back to the clothes. Then I went over to request getting into the fitting rooms, which were locked. One lady from the front came over as I stood there. "Something wrong?" Was the first thing she said to me. Taken aback, I replied, no, I was trying to get into a fitting room, please? I showed her my three garments. "Were you putting clothes back?" "What?" "My associates said you were putting clothes back." I looked at her blankly. "They said you took some and were putting them back in the shoes section." "I apologize, ma'am, I do not know what you are talking about," I answered in the most polite voice, even though I was getting increasingly frustrated. "They saw you. Take clothes and put them by the shoes." At this point, I was ready to leave. If this was how they were treating customers, I was not about to beg to be let into the fitting room, let alone give them my business. "I do not know what you are talking about, How about we go to the shoes and you can show me? I did not put anything there, only the clothes I have in my hands." "No. They took them away", she replies. Silence. "I am going to have you ask you to leave," she says. I don't even care anymore. Frankly, I am not sure whether I am more puzzled by how this confusion has taken place or more shocked that they have the audacity to treat a customer like this with no grounds. She did not even try to communicate with me with kindness. She was accusatory, told me to leave, and that was that. I left. Never plan to return. Good riddance. Highly not recommended. Zero stars!

I would say it's about 75% clothes, 22.5 %everything else plus 2.5% shoes. They had changing rooms to try on clothes and at first I grabbed the first room that seemed vacant due to not really seeing a clear system. However , once I was in the room, I discovered the door did not lock from the inside. Assuming they did not lock us in from the outside, I proceeded to try the Thrift Town clothes on over my own outfit. This gave me an idea of which garments would work, but not really a confirmation. So I perused some more, grabbed a couple more tops and with my fiancé as lookout, proceeded to try everything on as intended. This place has some diamonds in the rough if you have the patience to look through the offerings. They organized the clothes very well by size and all the knickknacks were arranged neatly in their own categorized shelves. I left happy, with a few great and comfy everyday tops as well as a flattering house dress. I look forward to dressing them up with accessories and cardigans.
