This is such a cute bookstore! I was here for a yelp event and I'm glad I came! I've never been to the central library before let alone the cellar. When you get off the elevator, you walk right into the store where there is a massive selection of gently used books, tapes, comics, magazines, audiobooks, and more. The employees were super friendly and very helpful. The books are not expensive at all, ranging from $1 to maybe $10 depending on the book and its condition. I left with three international books and I feel so giddy about it!

Access via the San Antonio public library. You do not need a library card to access the store. LOTS of books available and very affordable prices. Found books that have been on my list for months at reasonable prices. Pretty sure we spent an hour here and spent less than $20 for tons of books. We were visiting from out of town and they graciously provided us with HEB bags to carry our haul back to the hotel.

Of course I'm going to find the local public library while visiting a city for the first time. I want to know the history of a community and there is no better place to find it. Also, I love to observe the architecture and of course I have one more agenda; I always visit their book store. You might find books well worn or just survivors of decades, but I promise you will find something (and at a great price) to take home. This was no different. I took the elevator down to the cellar (hence the name) and saw the entire space filled with books, vinyl records, and periodicals. Like many library bookstores, it is staffed by volunteers. I spent over a hour combing each row and shelf. I left with books, a playbill, and a record. If you are near the area (or lucky enough to live there), be sure to frequent there!

Awesome store in the basement of the San Antonio public library! You have to take the elevator down. They have a huge selection of books, records, and a big children's area! Everything was priced as marked, the children's books we purchased were in great condition and ranged from $1.25 to $6 and we got two records for $8 total. I'm not sure how often they move their inventory, but would love to come back and spend a bit more time there! Check the Book Cellar hours before going, they had signs that they're only open Th, Fri and Sat, from 11 am to 4 pm!

Todays event at The book Cellar was eye opening to say the least! The San Antonio Public Library is very big, in my opinion. I'd never been, so it was well worth the experience. With five floors of books and collections, I can imagine you can find that which you are looking for. I visited the first, second floors and the "Book Cellar". The number of cubicles and computers on the first floor was impressive. The collections on the second floor was also impressive. The cellar is run by a non profit. They are very attentive. Their service is great and the price for the slightly used books is a great value. Thank you Fernanda and Yelp for this additional opportunity to know all that our city of San Antonio has to offer!

Book haven! A place where a lot of people who likes book and music can go to. They have varieties of classic, YA, and more generes of books from very old to new printed. You can also see some other classic vinyl and magazines. This place I shared is on their basement while their 1st level is also a lovely place to read and also use their free usage of computers.

Who would have thought the hottest club in SA would be located in the basement of a library! A well kept secret (to me...anyway...shout out to my girlfriend for enlightening me of the secret tunnels) The BookCellar is a fantastic place to pick up dirt cheap books on topics about anything under the sun. Kept in just as perfect order as the library running above, things are easy to find and staff are happy to assist. I picked up a biography about James Beard I didn't even know existed, and I can be sure I'll return once I'm done for more gems! This is a fantastic place for teachers to comb through to pick up books for their classroom, the prices and selection can't be beat!

What a wonderful place and event to be involved and invited too. I really enjoyed it. The book cellar is a very nice place to go for books and gifts of books for that special friend. You'll find a genre for them and also kids as well at a low low low fraction/bargain of the price. Please visit the book cellar located in the basement of the library. Dive into the many rows of used and non used books they have for sale and emerge yourself into reading again. Thank you for allowing yelp to be part of this event.

They even have a section dedicated to Numero Group releases, which I thought was super rad. If you want to try your hand at the bargain bin, there's a room with 50-cent records, too. There is a section near the front (you'll need to kneel) of clearance records underneath some New Arrivals. The folks who work here know and love music, so if you have any questions, I'm sure they'd be happy to chat about it.

Every visit to San Antonio I make it a point to come out to Crazy Rhythms records store to see…read moretheir unique selection of records. I always end up walking out with more than 2 records each visit as their pricing and selection is worth visiting each time. The layout of the shop is great. I recommend starting left side of the shop and work your way around to the right side. You will find all genres sorted out and organized in a very simple and easy to navigate way. Most of the newest arrivals (from folks who are selling or trading their records in) to the back left side. I like starting here just in case I end up finding something cool that just came in. It's a nice way to be able to see what came through to the shop in the last day or two and these records are always diverse in genre. I really enjoy the vintage collection the shop has as decor here. I have seen 8-track players, lunch boxes, older posters from classic albums, cassette players, and even some cool nostalgic childhood toys. I kept smiling at each vintage or throwback items I saw that often tells you "not for sale" or "NFS" stickers on it. As a record collector I take the condition of records seriously before purchasing. I am the annoying record collector who will slide the record out of the sleeve and bend it up to the light to check for scratches, dirt, dust, etc. The last few visits at Crazy Rhythms I have been purchasing and not checking the condition or quality because I trust what I am getting is going to be playable and no bumps/hiccups when I do play them. You will get very good to high-quality records here no doubt. Just heads up - every record collector should know that the cheaper the price (aka clearance or discounted items) usually the quality will suffer but THAT IS NOT THE CASE HERE. You will get better than great quality records and anything that is priced low is probably overstock, common record/selection, and is always priced fairly. You can trust in this record store. Trust. Parking is super easy - just pull right up to the front of the store or park in the private lot. Even when the tourist attractions are busy around the store you will most definitely be able to stop in without having to worry about parking. Parking is never a thing for me even when Fiesta is happening. Check out the selections I have picked up in the few times I have come thru in my photos.

It is located in a strip mall off Fredericksburg, and it won't be found unless ones looking for it, which I was. It is not a very big place, but it does have a lot of knickknacks, including an impressive collection of stickers, bookmarks, and vinyl records, to name a few. It actually is a pretty neat place. The books are used and for the most part they're very reasonably priced. They do not have an inventory of the books, so you do have to look through shelves, if looking for a particular title. And their staff is only one person at the cashier. Which is to say that you can browse to your heart's content, and discover some major reads. They also had quite a few boxes of books that were under one dollar or $.50. This is one of those places that I intend to return to, because of pricing and to support small businesses. I truly recommend visiting this place. It makes for a fun visit.
