This shop is super cute! The soaps smell really good! There's a lot of funny and interesting things in here as well. The shop owner Jamie was super nice! I would definitely get more goat soap when I'm back in town! read more

Amazing shop and AMAZING smells. You can't even walk by without stopping in your tracks and saying yep I'm going in there. I love candles. Love love love em. Literally smelled every scent they had and settled with the Sandalwood Vanilla. My apartment has smelled phenomenal since getting home with it! I should have stocked up! Will have to pop back in next time we are in town to see what new scents they have brewed up read more

The only place I buy candles from. The owner is the sweetest gal you will ever meet.

Another of the many shops here in town. Lots of options for soaps, scents, some touristy souvniers, and rocks/crystals. This shop had one of the better selection of scented items in store IMO. read more

I went to Idyllwild for a weekend and stopped by the town center where the store is located. I'm a candle fanatic and this store was perfect for me. All the candles are homemade and they smell absolutely amazing. I'd recommend a stop by! read more

You. Will. Love. Sasha's. Stuff. Really, that's what it comes down to. Sasha is the owner and makes most of the items in the shop. Her goat milk lotions are lovely - and super nice for the cold, dry weather in Idyllwild during the winter. Her candles are absolutely wonderful. They burn clean and are scented with essential oils so don't smell fake at all. And she's just so nice to talk to and get advice from. Perfect place to buy gifts and a little something for yourself. :-) (Also...be sure to got down the walkway from Sasha to the toy store. Super fun and lots of great root beer options!) read more

This is a truly darling little shop. The customer service is really great. We love the candles so much - always getting a couple when we're in town, and even ordering more from home when we haven't been to the mountains in a little while. My favorite is Antahalla Vanilla - it's a warm vanilla smell that will make your home so cozy. Definitely recommend checking out this shop! read more

I just got home and lit one of the 3 candles i bought today. The smell is captivating. I love the scents and strength of the candles from the sprouce moose! My whole apartment smells amazing! They are all unique and made with love and passion! I will always support this shop read more

I visited here recently on a brief getaway from OC, purchased 3 candles and I love them! Sasha really knows candles and is obviously passionate about her business. I like that they's Soy, which always allow for a more pure scent. I wish I bought more! But will definitely return for more when in the area next. read more

We live in San Diego but visit Idyllwild a couple times a year. I always stop in here. The owner is one of my favorite, fellow redheads. ‍ Of course, that's not the only reason you should go here The toiletries are handmade - lotions, linen mist, candles, etc...Mostly natural and organic, and just simply divine! read more

Just ok. The woman who works there got a bit snippy when we asked about the very limited candle selection this time. Her response was "well, I've been very busy & haven't had time to make more". Ok then. We have been buying candles here for at least 4 years. Kind of disappointed. We were told to go online to buy them if we wanted to. They do have some great soaps, etc there as well. read more

Cute shop, amazing scents and friendly atmosphere! I picked up a candle and it smells fantastic. When lit, it fills the whole house with scent! Definitely recommend if you're in town! read more

Excellent little shop. It's located upstairs in the center and since Grandpas Jerky closed they carry their jerky (the sign on the old Grandpas Jerky space directed us there). The man was really nice. He carries a lot of Alaska items too and since I lived there I had fun talking with him about it. You'll find a little of everything there from elegant artwork to magnets. Highly recommended. I'll post a store front photo too. read more

I love these candles I go up to Idyllwild from San Diego just to buy these warm , fragrant candles and for the hospitality of these wonderful owners ! read more

Love her candles and left with 6 of them last time I was here. They all smell amazing and don't burn to quickly.

Very disappointed let's just say a very unwelcoming feeling as the owner was snippy and her whispering to her husband very rude. A few years ago it was a bigger store obviously they've had to downsize as many businesses have. Well if that's the way they treat people? I wouldn't be surprised if it closes. Regardless we went to Wooleys and spent quite a lot there but the owner very nice and welcoming. read more

The Spruce Moose is just warm, and as always; has great merchandise. I buy candles every coupla months. The aroma of "Campfire Smoke" is never overwhelming. It's got a perfect balance. Very relaxing! read more

My favorite store in town! The atmosphere is gorgeous and well detailed. The store smells amazing with their store brand candles. Their candles are the greatest! I strongly recommend picking one up for the house. The candles are top quality! read more

Very cute store. We didn't buy anything because it wasn't our style but loved the warm feeling when we walked in the door. I would definitely go back to buy gifts for my mother and father from this shop. read more

Great selection of original-scented soy candles, and a helpful staff. I'll be back.

I went into this shop years ago, and came home with their campfire smoke candle. Even now, nearly a decade later, I remember that candle as the single best one I've ever owned (no hyperbole). I was delighted to find out that they sell online, and can't wait to order! read more

Great gift shop and, like so many of the stores in Idyllwild, is dog friendly. The owners have a very sweet lab. Very nice owners too. The pottery is so beautiful here and the candles to die for. They make excellent Xmas presents! read more

No reviews of the Spruce Moose yet? I'm shocked. Every time I'm in Idyllwild, I'm sure to stop and make my little pilgrimage to this, the archetypical cute mountain gift shop. They sell a variety of art, knick-knacks, kitsch, and candles, much of it locally produced, and all of it Idyllwild- or mountain-themed. I love the little fake pond in the back corner, covered with an ominous layer of dry ice-generated fog. Also check out the stuffed dog next to the pond, which strangely is almost an exact rendering of their real dog, who's often in the store. This place may not be for everyone -- it's almost agonizingly precious -- but if you're in the mood for faux-rustic mountain kitsch (and why else would you go to Idyllwild?), then definitely check this place out. read more

Absolutely love this store! Friendly staff/owner and amazing art/scents etc! We go every time we are in the area! Even if it's just to visit! Can't wait to get home and hang my newest piece! read more
