I called and spoke with a representative who proceeded to tell me my bank charges an additional 3% fee for using my card. The reality: THEIR bank (merchant processor) charges THEM an additional 3% fee, not the consumer. I have a receipt verifying the lesser charge. They said yes without mentioning there's a 4% surcharge for credit card purchases. Now I checked my bank statement; it showed a charge of $5.60 instead of $5.38, the amount on the receipt. The difference was just a few pennies. However, it's intolerable since this shop was dishonest and didn't fully disclose the surcharge they secretly added. I found that someone else also reported this problem in March, only after I discovered that they charged a different amount from the receipt today.
