The cutest local book store with a wonderfully unique book selection. They even have a cute little reading nook where you can post up or there's a delicious bagel shop right next door where you can grab your book and bagel and you're set for the next few hours. This is one of my favorite spots in Idyllwild. The curation of books is top-notch; There is a wide variety of novels, cookbooks, historical non-fiction, memoirs, etc. that are magically compiled together in a cohesive, aesthetically pleasing way. If you're a fan of horror like I am, you are sure to find your next new read here. I cannot leave without bringing home at least one new novel! It's evident from the array of titles that the owners of the bookstore value and support diverse perspectives and opinions. The store also features a nice selection of local products like bookmarks, stickers, patches, and zines. Books are fairly priced in accordance with market value. The store itself is beautifully decorated with lovely wallpaper, gorgeous wood counters, and a cozy couch for your reading pleasure. The highlight of this store, however, is the staff. Every visit we have a lovely chat with whoever is behind the counter at the moment. This is a 10/10 must-visit when you're in town! read more

Love this book store soooo much!!! The books curated in here are amazing, the workers are amazing and such great people to conversate with. Me and my friends stayed in here for so long and most of us bought 1-3 books each. We had so much fun just talking to the book keepers and going over their collection. The books here are so uniquely curated. It was an amazing time. I got a book and a magazine. So glad we were able to pop in! Highly recommend if you love bookstores! read more

Outstanding, well-informed, and helpful service. The small space is very cozy, and the curation of selections will impress any seasoned reader. They seemed to have all of the literary essentials across the genres, and very up-to-date with young readers as well. As a fan of dystopian/sci-fi/horror, I was pleased to see a shelf of books tailored just for me. It was my first trip to Idyllwild, and this shop is a force that will definitely pull me back to the area. Such a great value for the community! read more

Drove two hours to see this bookstore specifically as my friend said she loved it and the area. Find out all the doors are locked and the phone is turned off midday with no signs or anything. Maybe update the hours or let people know when it's closed as online it said it was open. Don't waste your gas driving here as it might not even be open lol. read more

Great local bookstore with a good selection especially from some local writers! Service here is great! I always love the knowledge of local shops as I was informed that one of the authors of a book I picked up has a cabin nearby. Makes for a great experience instead of just picking a book off the shelf and going to a random cashier. Highly recommend stopping in for a great book selection with value added service! read more

Nice Store, Friendly Owners. I went in to inquire about a special event that the bookstore was doing with the Rustic Theater. I pre-ordered and prepaid for the book and my movie ticket at a great reduced price since I bought it in advance rather than day of the event . I'm so glad I made that commitment because on the day of the event I was tired and really didn't want to go that night. The bookstore event was FANTASTIC. They served a very nice and very creative theme based drinks on the menu served in lovely flashing lighted disposable cups. They had crafting tables with theme based activities. The other attendees seemed to be as happy as we were. It was so enjoyable that I could have skipped the movie and been completely satisfied with the night but I did go to the movie and managed to stay awake even though I've seen it about 5 times in the theater and probably 10 times or more on tv, vhs, & dvd hahaha. read more

I loved this small slightly hidden away bookstore. If you like books and like to read I am sure you can find something to read and enjoy. The owner was enthusiastic about literature and there are nice places to sit and relax. If you're looking for a specific book it can be ordered and delivered in a day or two. I loved browsing the niche bookshelves and discovering classics next to local and unknown (to me) authors. I'm just passing through but I would spend more time here if I were in the neighborhood. read more

Whenever I travel, I look for local indie bookstores, and this was the case when I was in Idyllwild a month ago on a writers' retreat. What a great selection of books. My friends and I bought a couple books each. I could have bought more. So unusual to find a little store with books I want to read. Thank you for this wondrous store.
