Where to start... Pros: The owner was very nice and attentive. Convenient location Cool fish table Cons: Dirty, outdated salon Old polishes Terrible paint job If the owner sees this: having a loud speaker of music outside isn't what will bring customers in.. having quality work and a clean salon will. Rather than using your main area as storage space, use the unused waxing/massage room instead. Paint all the walls a light color, put flooring down and add more lighting. It's too dark and dingy making it feel dirty and it probably explains the bad paint job since you can't see what you're doing. Throw out all your polishes and get just one brand of new polishes, some gel and some regular. Get a new drying table, it looks like it's seen better days. And from my experience it didn't work, I'd have better luck using my breath. I saw a review from ten years ago saying the exact same thing.... I hope you take these suggestions seriously. I usually travel to Sanford to get my nails done , but I do live in Cameron and it was only 9 mins away. I figured why not? I looked up their service prices, a full set said "$25" Where I am use to going does a phenomenal pedi for 35 and that includes gel. This basic pedicure from this spot was $30 and they charged me $5 to just remove my gel polish? HA! The pedicure only consisted of removing my polish and filing my toenails and putting basic polish on. Fast forward to my mani where the lady seems to be a rando off the street and is literally on her phone talking to someone about taxes and stuff the entire time. I included a pic of my toes and nails... My nails should be SUPERB for $65! Which is how much I ended up paying since their service menu was innacurate online. Meanless to say I won't be back! I can take my money elsewhere and continue traveling to Sanford . read more

To start on a high note, the pedicure did last, and I had a great conversation with the woman next to me. I went in for a manicure on my very short natural nails in the fall. I only wanted to have a coat of gel put on my filed and smoothed short nails. The technician who did my nails disapproved of me not putting a tip on my nails because they were "too short", "not nice", and the "look[ed] bad". I wanted a color that was the shade of my skin since I didn't want to draw attention to my short nails, but did want them to be filed smoothly and coated. After that day, I decided to not get a manicure there. Fast forward to the beginning of March, and I decided to go get a pedicure there only because I couldn't make it to my favorite place before they closed. The pedicure took longer than I would've liked and the woman who actually did most of it complained about how awful my feet looked. Two of the other women who worked there talked about their direct sales business the entire time. Needless to say, I won't be back and it wasn't very relaxing. I work in direct sales and know it takes courage to share your business opportunity with others, but I felt like I went in for a pedicure and came out with information on a sales business that I didn't ask for and was never even asked what I do for a living. If you're reading this, good luck in your business venture and read Eric Worre's book "Go Pro". It's super helpful regarding striking up conversations with prospects. My 1st time going to The Spot Nail Spa & won't be going back. The facility was not very clean & was unorganized. I arrived about 6pm and was told they close at 7pm & they had someone who could start my gel nails right then. As I waited I was given a small binder of flyers for things they sell: vitamins, juices, etc. I found that to be a little weird since I was there for my nails not to buy fat burners, vitamins, etc. Judy (eventually did my nails) continued to talk to a previous customer until about 640pm. Judy was very nice & did tackle my cuticles which needed some serious TLC but left alot to be desired for the actual gel. With only one VERY thin coat of gel Polish it looks more of a clear Polish with a touch of glitter than actual pink . I should have asked her to apply another thin coat or TWO (since they were so thin) but at that time I was just ready to get out of there. My friend accompanied me for a set of gel as well. The woman who did her nails did not say more than 5 words to her the entire time. I found that a little strange, but that is just my perception. This salon needs to have better time management, or at least be honest with the customer about the wait. I have been here twice now, and both times there were time-related issues: The first time the woman doing my pedicure asked if I minded if she left to make a phone call. I told her I understood (I'm a mom, I get that she might need to touch base with a family member) - but then she disappeared. 20 minutes later I asked the owner when her employee would be back and she said she didn't know. She had another woman take her place, who was quite rough and did not seem happy about being tagged in. My original person did not return for another 15 minutes beyond that - she was gone 35 minutes in all! Today, my second time, my friend arrived before I and signed us both in for manicures. She was told 10-15 minutes. We ended up waiting 25 minutes and then they seated us both but only one woman sat down to start mine. She did a slapdash job on my french manicure, so that the tips were not neat and left nailpolish on my fingers beyond the nail. She did not offer a nail dryer when they were finished. My friend, who waited for me to have my nails done, was supposed to be after me. However, she requested acrylics and was told she would have to wait a little longer. At this point, we'd already been there nearly an hour. My manicure was sloppy, with the white tips not flush with the edge of the nail and she left polish on my finger tips. I think the nail polish was old, there are dark streaks on most of my nails. Judy didn't file them much or make sure they were even. The paint coverage is shoddy. No cuticle oil, no lotion....nothing. There was only one person behind me in line, so I don't think it's because she felt rushed. There was no manicure offered, just paint. 3/4 of the time she was trying to sell me on an MLM (pyramid scheme) and seemed pretty relentless on it, going so far as to show me her commission statements. read more

Quant shop, friendly owner and technicians. I went here on a Tuesday morning. They do not open until 10am. I went for a mani and pedi and was immediately seated for a pedi and the technician began. There was only one other customer and three nail technician I wish they would have ask which pedi I preferred, since they have many options and I wasn't sure which included foot exfoliation and leg massage. This place just isn't memorable. The pedi was not especially great. I didn't feel that it was a smooth process. I should have saved my money on the mani. It was done while I was in the pedi chair and she put the bowl of COLD water to soak my cuticles in right on my lap. Probably won't go here again, despite their convenient location to where I live. I feel bad about writing this, because it seems that these ladies have good intentions. But like most Moms, I come to relax. There is nothing relaxing about discussing their side business while getting my nails done. When I had a pedicure weeks ago, it was great. The gel is still going strong. She did a great job. But when I had a manicure, I felt like I flushed $39 down the toilet. I came home and had to polish my nails myself. The polish didn't cover the whole (short) nail, there were streaks, I don't think she even took any care of my cuticles, and all because she was busy talking about her skinny tea. Worst nail experience ever. I've wasted my day. Absolutely no color choices so I ungraded to gel because there was one color I could settle on. Got there at 2:45-ish and wasn't finished until 5:30. There was only two women working, one for pedis and one for manis. My friend who got dip gel sat with her hands in nail polish remover for the majority of the time waiting. As I was already soaking my feet I observed the nail tech cleaning the bowl next to mine wish dish soap and dish scrubber..... no protection barrier in the foot tubs. Upon leaving they gave us a "gift" of foreign toothpaste to promote all of the products they were selling. How this place stays in business, I will never know. read more

I went to get a pedicure this afternoon . I wanted to try this local nail salon . My plan was to get a pedicure and manicure. The lady that did my pedicure was EXTREMELY rude. She also insisted that I got my toes another color other than white ... something like "black" . I insisted that I wanted white as I usually get . I wish I could have turned right back around when I walked into this salon. It is right next door to a cigar/e-cigs store and the spa smells like smoke. The chair I sat in to get my pedicure was broken, and the other chairs looked as if they were 15 years old. The woman that did my pedicure rushed through the whole thing (which lasted a total of 16 min) My nails look like a child painted them. Ok I went back and forth about either giving this nail salon a 3 or 4. Pros: Nina was excellent. I personally give her 5 stars. Great customer service skills. She communicated well and took her time with my nails. I was very pleased with her work ethic and professionalism. I also thought that Pam was very sweet and the other associates were polite and attentive. Cons: The ambiance does not match the price this owner is asking for the service. The chairs were uncomfortable and the decorations were very out dated. First salon I have been to where the chairs were hard. I think the owner has taken a cheap approach and I think that is insulting a bit to the patron. 75 dollars to me is a bit much for gel nails and a pedi for the overall service. Suggestions: take some money from your pocket and update your salon. If it's a nail salon then remove the tanning sign from the window because I almost didn't even recognize it was. Remove the posters from the wall or frame them. If you are going to have a tiki bar then serve a complimentary glass of wine so that the customer feels that they are not shocked by the high prices. Lastly, if you are competing with the shop across the street then I would advertise a few promos and lower the prices a bit. Most people will end up leaving both of these subpar nail salon experiences and drive into fayetteville or Sanford. Harsh reality. Superb pedicure today from a professional friendly young lady named Nina at The Spot Nail Spa. The price is reasonable and the shop is clean with a nice atmosphere. They have tanning and waxing services also. This spa was friendly, clean, and not too busy for a man looking to his dawgs scrape and massaged. I walked in for the first time today and was able to sit right down with little wait and no appointment. Mrs. Debbie soaked my feet and began trimming and filing my nails give me advise on product to use on my fungus toe. She wore gloves and all utensils where wrapped and looked fresh from getting sterile. Though I did not see an autoclave anywhere.the other lady has finishing up and I did she her clean thoroughly the foot tub. With cleaner and bleach. Once I was finished I was not surprise with the pice because they had a menu to choose from allowing you time to look over three selections with only differ in product they used on your feet. My mother and I came in mid-afternoon for pedicures. When we walked there was one worker doing a pedicure and one sitting in one of pedicure chairs reading. The atomosphere is also off-putting to say the least. We were not greeted immediately and when we were, she looked extremely annoyed that she had to stop reading for us. I am heavily pregnant and my feet are super swollen right now. I had a lot of build up and kindly pointed it out to her before I was seated. She didn't say anything and just continued on. My mom was seated beside me but since there was only two workers, was not worked on. The worker took a super small scrubber and worked on my calluses for 2 minutes at max. My two year old could have done a better job. My nails were different shapes and sizes as well. At the 10 minute mark, she was ALREADY trying to put polish on. I stopped her at this point and pointed out that my feet looked almost the exact same as when I walked in. I asked if she could scrub a little hard and get the callus off. She began talking to her coworker (not in English) and then thrust a book at me that had a large note that read "We do not use cheese grader anymore." They spoke VERY poor English and it was pointless to try and reason with them. I respectfully said that I would like to pay for what she had done (which wasn't much,) and leave. My mother hadn't even been seen to at this point either. She then told me I owed $20. Pathetic. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. UV Nails or Citi Nails. Horrible! Horrible! Horrible!!! It looked like I had chicklets on my nails when all I asked for was a dip. The acrylic was sooooooo thick and not smooth with bumps causing the polish to even look funny. Not to mention it took 2 hours to do a dip... AND she tried to sell me productions the whole time; not nail salon products but tea that she sells as an independent sales representative. It's annoying to want to go and relax but instead pay for bad service while being hounded to become part of her sales team for some tea. Ridiculous! I honestly don't know how she is still open! All her stuff is kept in autoclave bags that have never even been closed! Never been sterilized! It's misleading to keep stuff in those bags but if you do not see the bag being opened IT IS NOT CLEAN! I typically like small mom n pop shops but this was just awful. Steer clear! read more

This place looks great from the outside and online but it did not live up to expectations. I went in for a mani/pedi and got in a chair for my pedi right away. Drinks were provided but the water was cold at first when I asked for warmer it was lukewarm at best. I then had to wait over an hour for someone to start my pedi while 3 people came in after me and had their nails done right away. Apparently they were short staffed which I understand but it would have been nice to know up front that it might take awhile so I would be prepared for seeing everyone else get their nails done and leave while I wait. I also managed to get the only chair in which the back massage feature was broken. Chairs were comfortable but it is easy to tell they are old with the leather peeling and completely off on some places. The owner was very friendly. I won't be going back. read more
