Went here as a spur-of-the-moment type of treat. Got a pedicure. The employees/workers were attentive, friendly, and gentle. For $25, I got foot massage, lotion rub, nails painted, hot towel on my legs, a foot soak, nails we're trimmed and groomed, and i got the bottom of my feet scrubbed. Had a good conversation with the gentleman who did my pedicure. As I mentioned, he was very gentle as he massaged and tended to meet feet/toes. Had a great experience here. First, they have great precautions in place for the pandemic. Temp checks, hand washing and sanitizer, a waiver to sign for liability purposes. We got jelly pedicures and that experience was one-off the coolest experiences. My feet definitely feel softer as well. The polish choices for regular polish are limited but the gel has a ton. Don't listen to what client asks and file happy. I asked for gel polish. The woman still asked if I wanted manicure and I said no just polish please. The nail technician when doing my nails still uses the drill On them and files them even though they are naked (no polish) and already previously filed and rounded, then after finally painting my nails and after curing she still rounds them once again? So now I'm left with nubs. Not a fan - I had natural short but at least to my fingertips nails when I waked in. $20 is a fair price for gel polish but the experience and what I walked out with did not meet expectations. read more

This is actually my 3rd time here. I'm almost afraid to say how good they are because everyone I send becomes a regular and then it makes me have to wait just a little bit longer. Susan and the whole crew are great. There is nothing that they can't do, check their long list of services available. I'm normally just a pedi and mani girl really but I have had wax which didn't bother my sensitive skin and was relatively painless. They do also offer appointments by phone call or in person. During the week is normally the best time to go just because they are insanely possible. Paid $50 for the worst manicure of my entire life. I could have bought $10 glue on nails that would have looked a million times better. They were friendly but seriously, $50 for a full set?!? You can see my real nails under the paint and they are bulky as hell and you can see clear bulges and they are uneven as hell. Will NEVER be returning and wish I didn't waste $50 on this crap. Went in wanting just simple Holiday nails and they came out horrible wanted a stripes like a candy cane and she couldn't do that so I said forget it and she was persistent that I get a flower on my finger that I paid $5 for. Needed a new place for my nails since i just moved into town and this was the right spot to go! I went in on a Thursday afternoon without an appointment and they were available to help me right away. The nail salon was very clean and they even had Christmas movies going on to watch while being assisted. Andrew was my nail technician and he was amazing. Really friendly and fun to talk to. Recently, they have offered some additional promotion like military appreciation and and a certain percentage off for liking their FB page. Awesome nail salon. Located next to Big Lots, this salon is decorated and furnished luxuriously. I felt like I was in an upscale place, despite the reasonable prices. If going on a weekend or holiday, expect to wait and possibly call ahead and make an appt. They are worth the wait! I went on a busy Saturday afternoon. They were swampwd and I had to wait to get in. After about 10 mins, I was started on my Pedi. The technician was very thorough. She didn't rush and she was nice. She took her time and made the leg massage a welcomed highlight to the pedi. She did a great job on exfoliating my feet, clipping and filing my toenails. She did a great job on the color as well and put my sandals back on me. The gentleman that did my mani was attentive and thorough and he also took his time doing my mani, massaging my hands and arms. They didn't rush with me, despite the many customers waiting. They didn't have many technicians and were looking to fill employment shortages, but they have to wait for experienced and attentive technicians that will work when needed and provide a quality service. I have been to 4 other nail salons in Fayetteville since I moved here a few months ago, and Modern Nails is by FAR the best. The owner is extremely accomodating & helpful, the staff is very friendly & polite, and the place is clean, bright, and welcoming. I like my nails filed very short, and this was only the 2nd time I have been satisfied with the length; I was also in a time crunch, trying to squeeze in a walk-in appointment before work, and my manicurist managed to fill in my nails with gel and give me a french manicure in under 45 minutes -- and it was still one if the best manicures I've ever gotten! I've never heard of liquid gel before and I'm happy that I haven't because I feel like another shop would've messed it up. I called to see if they had time for a pedicure 30min before closing, they said yes. I waited a couple minutes and was sat down pretty quick. Everyone was very nice and it was relatively quiet during my visit. It took about 45min so they were well closed by the time I left. Even so they were very nice the entire visit. I decided to try this place because of the amazing reviews I saw on Yelp. That was my first mistake. I went in for a powder gel fill, and without warning had all my nails quickly ripped off. I asked what he was doing and he said he was putting a new full set on. I politely declined and (being that I was very annoyed) just asked for just a shellac on my natural nail. After putting the WRONG color on, and curing it... he decided to fix it by layering two coats of the correct color over it. Ugh. Not to mention, the nail tech had a horrible attitude and acted like the mistake was my fault. A week later the shellac is peeling and chipping. Andrew invited me to come back. Never. This was the WORST salon experience I have ever had. Don't let the positive reviews fool you. Pay a little more and get your nails done correctly, elsewhere. UPDATE- Two days later they are horribly peeling and cracking. I hope I can call and have them redone free of charge. read more

There is no way my fill in with gel polish (a basic set without design) cost $70 and then the lady messed my eyebrows up made them way too thin and I used to come here all the time and they used to do a good job but she really messed my eyebrows up and they are uneven and when I told her that they were messed up she did not even apologize she shrugs her shoulders and tells me to pencil them in. read more

I'm a very picky person when it comes to my nails. the only thing wrong with the lady who attended me was that she didn't clip my finger nails before starting to put on the acrylic nails, I noticed when it was already too late but it's no reason to give a bad review. the service is outstanding here, very kind people and nice atmosphere. although I do have to say it has a very weird smell to the salon when it's not busy. it almost smells like bad food or an animal shelter (or simply wet dog). I use to go and the nail tech Sam use to do my nails. He moved to Texas and I was sad but I enjoyed going to modern nails so I said I would try a new tech. First time with a different tech not so please but ok....went back again tried Ken he did a BEAUTIFUL job but my nails came off (whole) as if they were press-ons....I thought maybe it was because I got them a little longer then usual and just wasn't use to them.... so I went back again...this time it was a new tech I e never seen... he did a beautiful job and he has patience which I loved because Sam took his time and always satisfied me.... So it kind of reminded me of the good days and I walked out pleased and excited (I wish I knew the new guys name because he did great)... The only complaint is not even two weeks in and I already had at least 7 (whole) nails that had fallen off. You know I asked around people said the gel powder they used could have been old the first time it happened but I was in denial. The second time this happened and less the two weeks in things didn't change.... I started to accept the fact that I just need to move on and find a new spa for my feet and nails. Sad but also over it! We get charged the same price seems about with a full set or even a full in with a broken nail and I NEVER complain about it... but I decided to today to complain m because I spend way too much money as a loyal customer. Do not recommend. I went there for a fill and toe polish and was charged $70. I asked why, and the response was $50 for my nails and $20 for my toes. So I called the salon after I left, and was told it's $35 for a fill, so that got over on me. Then went again because everywhere else I went was crowded. I couldn't take him destroying my fingers any longer and told him to stop then he screamed at me and told me this is what I asked for, when I tried to explained how what he did wasn't what I wanted and I asked for him to change the shape half way through he refused and said he would do it later and my nails were flat out ugly and he still fixed his face and tried to charge me $60! If i could give them a zero i would! I only came here to get my acrylic set taken off and a clear coat on my natural nails. I told the man at the front that i want to soak off the acrylic instead of ripping the nails off. He said okay. Then the woman that i went to, decided that she wanted to do whatever she wants and started to rip the acrylic off AFTER i expressed to her that i wanted to soak my nails. Mind you I've had my nails ripped off before and my natural nail ended up damaged and i was in the hospital with my finger swollen. So, i told the lady again and she finally put the acetone on the nails. She went to assist another customer which i was okay with because i know the soaking process can be long. I've only waited for 5 minutes until another nail tech came and tried to RIP THE ACRYLIC OFF!!! i told this man that i am diabetic and i went to the hospital the last time someone tried this method and he STILL PROCEEDED TO RIP IT OFF.
