I was extremely disappointed with my daughter's experience at Ashlynn. Her hair turned out orange,…read moreand what was even more upsetting was that the staff seemed to think the "orange" hair was acceptable and looked fine. Unfortunately, the color could not be corrected without causing further damage, and 6.5 inches of my daughter's hair had to be cut off. I contacted the manager about the situation, and ultimately I ended up spending $700 total to have my daughter's hair corrected. I was incredibly disappointed that we not only had to spend that much money to fix the original service, but my daughter also lost 6.5 inches of her hair because the color could not be fixed. I understand that mistakes can happen, but I expected the salon to acknowledge the problem and take responsibility for the outcome. Instead, I was left feeling like the orange color was considered acceptable when it clearly was not what we wanted. I would not recommend this place to anyone based on our experience. The amount of money, stress, and the loss of my daughter's hair was extremely upsetting.

I've Been here before and they are super cheap when it comes to applying product. Which is funny…read morebecause don't you wanna get enough product in your clients hair to advertise it so it can be bought? I don't know it seems like maybe the owner needs to take a marketing management classes on how hair business runs. Unbelievable never have been somewhere so cheap at this point just run the hair salon in ur basement if you can't afford putting enough product in ur clients hair for best results. I was NOT satisfied and didn't get what I asked for I think it's because of the LACK of product applied. I mean I can tell even by reading the review that the owner is a cheapskate and has poor communication skills instead of focusing on customer satisfaction. Maybe then you'd learn that underwhelming service and poor communication don't exactly scream "luxury salon." Reading the owner's responses to reviews alone tells you all you need to know: passive-aggressive, unprofessional, and clearly allergic to accountability. Sad to say, but this place really is for people who think half a pump of mousse is a flex. Unbelievable.

My stylist, Kat, is absolutely amazing! She has definitely mastered her craft. She was able to see my vision and make it come to life. She also provided great input on what cuts would work best for my hair texture and what tones would complement my skin tone. My hair is curly so it can be tricky to deal with but Kat really took time and effort to style it. I'm genuinely so happy with how my hair came out. The salon itself is a really nice atmosphere. The decor and setup is well put together. The salon also has good lighting. There is also a good selection of hair products and items sold here. I 100% recommend this place. The quality service, friendly staff, and reasonable price make this place stand out. I look forward to come back when I'm visiting Kansas City. Thank you so much Kat for the amazing experience and phenomenal service!

It is a great space at 143rd and Metcalf around the corner from Tanner's. It's very nicely decorated and of course "brand new". They just opened on October 1. Carolyn is a wonderful stylist and great with all ages. My 15-year-old son and 18-year-old daughter go to her also. She didn't blow dry or style my hair either. After I got home and dried it myself, I then realized my hair didn't look different at all, just 3 inches shorter (when I only wanted a couple centimeters off) I called to see if I could get it fixed that night. Not only was she not willing to fix it or give me a refund, but she was so rude and hung up on me. I wouldn't recommend going here! By far the worst service I've ever had!
