Stopped by The Spinning Jenny on whim while camping in the area over the weekend with some friends. The facility was dog friendly, allowing pets to sit on the patio, which is always a plus for me! The studio has a great variety of wine to choose from and wine tasting are reasonably priced. We all sampled a variety of wines and all agreed the Viognier was are all around favorite of the day! We ended up buying 2 bottles to bring back to camp with us! The owners were also very friendly and elevated the experience even higher! The good...it was a cool night and the inside was moderately cool, but not cold and not overheated. We were there for a concert and the seats on the side were a mix of old chairs and couches, mostly comfy except for the one couch no one sat in because it sinks down to the floor. That was a waste of space and seating. Bar had a good selection of wine and beer, and the server was attentive. The bad...this was a show with 3 acts, the best and most popular for last. We sat through the first two and were excited for the third and that's when the disappointment hit. Seems that the third act and sound man were disagreeing over the set sound. As some one who has worked in the field and worked a sound board, I'm really putting the blame on the sound guy that couldn't handle it. I understand musicians are cocky and want things a certain way, but don't work with creatives if you can't handle it. The sound guy pissed the singer off, turned all the lights on bright, and essentially caused it all to end early. Sorry, we pay money for the act, not an event employee to have a fit. The audience was confused and after speaking to several other attendees after, they too were confused and disappointed. Some had driven from Charlotte and Asheville for this concert. As others have mentioned people will stand right in front of you even if your sitting. Make a standing area in the back. Being handicapped, I'm also surprised that they let a food truck use the handicapped designated spaces near the entrance. Seriously considering not going back and skipping any more shows here. I love supporting local, but don't appreciate how their artist conflict was handled. read more

Great midsize music venue 20 minutes from downtown Greenville. The bar in back offers great $5-6 local beers on draft, $3 cheap can beers, $2 sodas, and $5 wine. The bathrooms were clean and the workers are friendly. The floor is open with chairs stacked on either side if you need to grab one to rest. There's a set of couches in the back to lounge and a couple tables. The stage is low due to the low ceiling but they've really made the best of the place. The tiles make the lighting look great and they've hung black chandeliers which is a cool touch. The sound system could be set up better to fill the room but just stand 15 feet in front of the sound booth for the best show. read more

Great medium sized venue. Depending on the type of concert you see you will either be standing or seats. Our concert had tables set up and a large selection on couches. We found a comfy couch for the three of us to cozy up on. We enjoyed beer, sodas and popcorn. It was so wonderful to see live music again. We can't wait to go back to this venue and we can't wait to see Nathan Angelo again. Thanks for an evening we will always remember! read more

Great, unique venue with a wide variety of events. A lot of reviews here mention lack of seating. This isn't the peace center or an arena. It's a small local venue. Check out any of the other local venues that aren't Bon Secours Wellness Arena, and you'll find a whole lot of standing room filled with people standing to enjoy the music. For that venue size, SJ actually has above average seating. Just as you want to sit and see the show, a whole bunch of people want to stand close to the action and feel the music. read more

We attended the Fleetwood Mac tribute concert last month. The band was good but the only seating consisted of a few reserved tables and couches. We ended up standing the entire show. I wish the setup was like the old Handlebar, where they had standing room in the middle but rows of chairs on the sides. Some craft beer options would be much appreciated, also. read more

Why go to a venue to enjoy live entertainment when ownership allows people to stand in front of seated guests. I can "hear the music" free from home in a comfortable seat. When asked to address the issue management did nothing and were not very nice. Standing room should only be allowed behind all of the seating area so every one can enjoy the entertainment. So if you want to "SEE" what you paid for, I strongly suggest you go elsewhere. read more

I've been to two concerts here.The first was an event where most people had to stand the entire time before and during the show. There were a few chairs available near the front which we were able to snag. Unfortunately, once the show began, people surged to the front and blocked the people sitting in chairs. We ended up standing most of the time, which reduced the enjoyment of the event for me. My shorter wife could hardly see a thing. The second time was a fully seated event. It was a much better experience. Everyone (tall and short) was able to see and enjoy the concert. Next time, I will check on the sitting versus standing situation and make my decision accordingly. If it's a "standing event" I will not attend. read more

They've been able to get a couple of really good bands to come and play in Greer SC but the venue just isn't big enough to handle the amount of people they let in. Imagine 650 people hanging out in a dollar general with one bathroom for men and one for the ladies, throw in a bar with two servers, a make shift bar out in the entrance with one person selling beer out of a cooler and then expect a good band to show up once every 3 months or so. Good idea and it really is a cool place but I think you guys need to bring the maximum capacity down to about 250 or 300 at the most.
