The comedy was great; my party and I enjoyed the Lawson family's sets greatly. The issue, however, lies with the establishment and the service. Upon arrival, security did their routine, as expected. The guard frisked my boyfriend but didn't check his ID. He checked my friend's and mine. For whatever reason, he felt the need to flash his light against my ID for authenticity but not my friend's, which was weird and felt a little targeted but whatever. We noticed that he frisked every guy in line and checked every woman's bag, but did not check the men's IDs. We went upstairs, and immediately we noticed the cramped seating. It's definitely a fire hazard, with the way it was set up. There were chairs and seats packed against each other, with little to no mobility for patrons and employees to move about freely. Though we bought general admission tickets, VIP seating did not look like VIP at all. Some of their tables were as far back as some general admission seating. The "First Come, First Serve" policy is truly a joke; I find it unfair that those who pay extra to sit at the front will not be guaranteed the spot they paid for. We were sat at the bar that separates VIP from general. Both my friend and boyfriend were practically knee-to knee with the people beside them. it felt uncomfortable, like we were packaged sardines stuffed together in a tin. Along with ticket purchases, there is a $5 order minimum; our waitress informed us, after I asked her, that waters were $2.50. She did not tell us that sodas AND WATERS were $3, we had to find out ourselves through the QR code menu. My boyfriend and friend ordered Pepsis while I got the ginger ale. All three of our drinks were noticeably watered down, especially mine. Like, what's the point of watering down ginger ale, anyway? Shit tasted like an off-brand La Croix, fart-flavored. Sometime, in the middle of the set, my friend and I asked for waters. My boyfriend did not. This is important for later. The menus on their website do not include all item prices, nor have they updated the "entertainment fee" (aka gratuity), so be warned. Gratuity on the website is listed as 15%, as opposed to the updated 18%. Like I said, the sets were great. My party and I thought they were hilarious. One of the establishment policies, though, asked patrons to keep talking to a minimum. You could tell this was not endorsed, because half of the audience felt the need to interrupt Preacher Lawson with their unrelated comments/questions. Lawson even commented on this, saying, "Go ahead and make more unnecessary comments about yourself" (paraphrased.) This could be me, but he seemed quite agitated towards the end when people continued asking him questions and chiming in with their little quips, to which he also commented, "y'all I'm really just about to walk off this stage." Like, quit trying to be the main character and shut your mouth. Once we finally got our checks, we noticed that we were charged for our sodas and not waters; and the sodas were accurately priced. A small win! However, gratuity came out to be $2.40 -- I mentioned that it's 18%, and if you do the math: $3x0.18 (18%) = 0.54 This should have brought our total to $3.54. So, with a little extra calculation, I found that gratuity ended up being 80% instead! $3x0.8  = $2.40; you are free to check this on your own, as well. It makes no damn sense. If sodas are $3 and water is $2.50, that brings the total to $5.50. That meets the minimum! Instead, the waitress charged us nearly quadruple the stated gratuity price instead of charging us for the damn waters. Also, the waitress should have checked up on my boyfriend and informed him of his remaining balance instead of charging him, as well. Please check the FAQs before buying tickets. We didn't, which was our fault, but there's a bunch of information they fail to mention regarding this establishment. Stay educated before you get scammed with these hidden fees and shit service. Never come here! There are other, and better, comedy establishments for y'all to attend.

I always have a great time when I go to Comedy Zone shows across the country. I love comedy!!! I lucked out that Tony Rock was in town at the Comedy Zone in Greenville, SC. I had to see the last night. The show was 20 on a scale to 10!! One the BEST SHOWS I'VE SEEN LIVE!! I will definitely see him again somewhere this year. If he is ever in your town do not miss out! The seating is spaced out like a lot of comedy places, so you didn't feel crammed up against complete strangers. Every seat in the house was a great seat to see the stage. The service was quick and the servers were always on point to make sure you enjoyed the show. The bathroom were clean and easily accessible. But I was surprised to see that there was only one urinal and one stall in the mens restroom. There was a line for the women's bathroom. While in line they complained that only one toilet was working the restroom.

Establishment is not Law Enforcement friendly in the least bit. The front staff is very nice, but management on the other hand is not.

Gerald Kelly's set kicked it off nicely, and Deray had my cheeks and belly hurting from laughing.
