Local artist really shine here. I have visited many times and truly believe there is no bad seat in the house. My Mom and I recently watched the performance of jingle all the way. It was an awesome way to get into the holiday spirit. I really enjoyed the different skits. My favorite were the men's ensemble performing their rendition of the Macho Man featuring Amazon prime and the elf of the shelf was fantastic! I may have nightmares about that one to come. My Mom really loved the women's ensemble performing their rendition of 9 to 5. We will be trying to recreate those songs for years to come. Definitely enjoying having some champagne and snacks during the show!

DOV: Friday, April 13 @ 8pm OH MAMMA MIA, MAMMA MIA!!! Who says Friday the 13th is bad luck? We had front row seats to this fun-filled, ABBA-inspired celebration of love and laughter (Michelle P., Community Ambassador, you are awesome) The players were great, the songs were classic, and the energy was contagious...we didn't want it to end. Centre Stage is a small, intimate venue where every seat affords a decent view of the action on stage. This was the first time we had been on the front row (fancy) and it was quite a treat. I could literally reach my leg out and touch the stage with my foot. Pretty cool. There is parking for the venue across the street for $5, but you can park for free at two different lots only about a three-minute walk away. Refer to my previous review for more information on parking and Centre Stage itself. We had the best time at MAMMA MIA. The arts are so important in the life of our community and I encourage everyone to support them in any way possible.

My first visit was opening night of Mama MIa! The production was outstanding BUT the sound system was abysmal...weak, difficult to hear, and scratchiness. The seating is "theater in the round" stadium. The steps are steep so I suggest selecting something low if you're older, have weak knees/hips. We navigated well, but I can see where some people might have issues. Be aware that the floor plan is confusing. I couldn't recreate how to maneuver once inside, if I had to. Perhaps it will be clearer after my next visit. The assistants were cheerful and helpful. Walls are adorned with lots of local art. Our evening was most enjoyable despite the sound system problems and the cast was fantastically talented! There is a parking lot adjacent to the door and a parking garage on the side of the theater, but a brisk walking distance away. It just makes you "bust your buttons" to have this kind of talent in our cozy hometown. Yeah, that Greenville!

What a great show! The theater is small so all the seats are good. It's downtown so parking is not a problem and it made for a great afternoon. We highly recommend this theater.

Saw into the woods. First time to center stage but certainly not the last. Outstanding show. Viewer friendly theater. Can't wait to go back.

I won tickets from Yelp and attended the Christmas show- "Let Nothing You Dismay." It was amazing! I will definitely be going back.

Centre Stage is no Peace Center but I was blown away by the local production of Mamma Mia.

The contact at Swanson's was easy to work with. The event was affordable and casual yet intimate. We picked the caterer. We hosted this event on December 30th so the colorful string lights felt perfectly festive! And the signs of Greenville's past covering the walls were fun for the Greenville natives--it took them back! (Photographer: Julia Madden Sears)

There is canned beer of varying prices (starting with some $1 beer, including the classic PBR) up to fancier craft beer ($3, $5, or $7) and you can pay with a card. There are a couple booths on the wall, but it's mostly standing room unless you borrow a camping chair. Outside it looks liike to you're walking into a garage, but it does look like they have parking (wish I saw it before paying at the lot around the corner. After waiting several minutes and finally being acknowledged, I politely asked the bartender for a canned beverage. She said I could not order from her and had to order from my waitress. When I noted that no waitress had visited our table yet, I politely asked to speak to a manager. At that point, the owner immediately emerged and erupted with a profanity-laced tirade, using extreme verbal aggression and telling me to get out, claiming I was "jumping ahead." We left immediately. The venue itself was clean, but the management style felt hostile and unpredictable. I've since found years of similar reports on community forums and other travel sites regarding hostile owner interactions and a reportedly toxic environment for staff. There has even been past litigation involving serious workplace allegations. I strongly encourage anyone to do their own research beyond the star ratings before deciding to support this establishment. I will not be returning.
