Nestor is the absolute best. He is professional, courteous, punctual and the quintessential person that you want in your home taking care of your tile/granite countertops. He gave us a fair bid on our project and arrived on time to do the job. When he arrived (before he entered our home) he put booties on his shoes to protect our floors. Each time that he had to go out to his truck, he removed them.....and put them back on when he came back. This is a class way to do business and shows his respect for the customer and their property. This is exactly how he performed the counter restoration job on our granite. He is a true professional. He has many years of this under his belt and his work shows it. When he finished the job earlier than he had expected with his bid, he adjusted the price down a bit. Wow.....is that an honest gentleman or what? Gayle felt it was time to clean and reseal various parts of our flooring. Based on a recommendation from Nova Tile in Minden, we called Nestor for an estimate. The whole job took a few days and required that Gayle and I (and the cats) move to her Mother's house. Here's what was done: - Clean all of the travertine floors and grout through your home and master bathroom using a floor machine with a brush using KlenzAll Cleaner by StoneTech. Scrub each grout joint using a brush with KlenzAll Cleaner. - Refinish the travertine floors using diamond pad grit 800. Fill in holes some of the holes that need it using polyester. - Deep Clean master shower travertine and grout using soft diamond pad grit 800 with KlenzAll Cleaner. Scrub each grout joint using a brush with KlenzAll Cleaner. Caulk corner in shower using sanded caulk. - Seal travertine floor and grout through your home, master bathroom and master shower using Heavy Duty Sealer by StoneTech. - Caulk where travertine meets wood in living room and office using sanded caulk. The whole job cost a little more that we initially inspected, but the quality of Nestor's (and crew) detailed and professional work was solid. We made the unfortunate decision to install Piedrafina marble countertops in our new house. Really pretty, but I swear, if you look at the stuff wrong, it stains or gets etched. Nestor was referred to us by our builder's customer service rep, and we had him come out for an estimate. We expected a very expensive fix, but were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the quote turned out to be. Nestor came with his father, and in a few hours, our countertops looked brand new. They got out all the stains and etchings and sealed everything. Nestor also gave us information on what cleaners to use to avoid any issues in the future. If I could, I would give Nestor and his father 6/5 stars! They were excellent! We had a wide, long crack in our granite countertop by our sink. I had had some other company in to fix it @ 4 years ago, and they did a horrible job. Nestor and his dad came in, cleaned out the old polymer and sealed the crack properly with new polymer that matched the color of the countertop. It finally looks beautiful! First note - I'm pretty sure the 1 bad review for this company is for the wrong contractor as the reviewer is WAAAYYYY out of the area of Reno/Carson, Nevada where Nestor works. Nestor and his father came to my home on time and let me know prior that he was on his way (no one seems to do this anymore - it's greatly appreciated to have a heads up). They did a professional cleaning of my travertine flooring and grout, filled in holes using a different product then I had been using that I had mixed results with (their epoxy product seems to be doing much better) and then honed down the floors to erase tile edges that were poking up (fixing a problem from the original tile install). He even made a suggestion to make an inlaid marble flooring medallion look even nicer. When they were finished the floors looked great and better than new. I even had another contractor come in a week later and mention that we had the nicest travertine flooring he's ever seen. I would not hesitate to use him again or recommend him to anyone. Don't hire this guy! Worst contractor we have ever hired. Needed a 6 inch self in Souter cut out. He took 6 hours to complete the job and did not clean up shower. What a mess he left! Took us 4 hours to remove dirt, dust and crap off shower door, tile and shower head, etc. cashed check immediately and refused to come back when we called. I am so happy with Nestor's work! I had some tiles fall off a small shower stall and none of the "big guys" would touch such a small job--they only do complete renovations, argh. But Nestor came over, said "no problem," and was back within a week to do the job. Turned out that one whole wall needed attention--looked like the thinset that had been applied did not do a proper job and the wall was in danger of coming down all at once. Nestor reused all of the tiles, got the job mostly done in one day, came back the next morning to finish up with grouting, and the shower stall is beautiful! Sorry for not attaching a photo, but the litter boxes are back in there and I really didn't want to have to remove them for the nth time. :) I definitely recommend Nestor, The Specialist. read more

The only thing special about this guy is the ability to sell himself. Nothing personal, but his work is totally amateur. He assured me he could repair a crack in our travertine entry...it actually looked worse when he was done so I had to hire another company to undo what he did. Not only was the color match terrible but he did nothing to smooth out the finish so it was totally visible in the light. This may not be his forte, he should have been honest. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS! They were hired to seal the brand new natural stone tile and grout in my kitchen and entry way. It was supposed to take around 5 hours, but only took about 2. That should have been a red flag. After about 2 months the tile started looking bad, then stained. I was not able to get the stain clean. I would clean up any spills immediately, but the grout would stain. It didn't matter what I did. I called Mr Meneses and discussed it with him; he asked for some pictures and I sent them. It took a couple of weeks, but he finally got back to me. He asked if water pooled up in drops on the grout - no it never did. It would just spread and apparently get absorbed into the grout. That tells me it was not sealed properly. He assured me he would get back to me. After two weeks, I sent him a text. He responded that he was sick with covid, but would get together with me when he gets better. I gave him another month and texted again. No response. I waited a week, texted again, and one more time, no response. I do not believe this is a reputable company. They take your money, do not do what they were hired to do, and then leave you hanging. Judging from the other reviews, they used to be good. No more. Use this company at your own risk. read more

He showed up on-time (which is very rare these days) and went through my house with me to get an understanding of what I wanted done. He cleaned, polished and sealed two marble vanities with travertine back splashes, cleaned and sealed two travertine showers, cleaned and sealed two travertine floors and one slate floor and they all came out beautiful! We initially posted a 5 star review when Nestor of The Specialist did the work in Decmeber 2016. to repair cracks, fill holes and recolor the grout in our travertine floors. The job cost $1700. But within a month , holes had re-opened. By June we were trying to sue him in Small Claims because the entire job had failed and he would not come to our home to review and repair his work. He dodged service and now we are out of pocket for the cost of the repair, the Smaill Claims filing and charges to have him served. We would give him a zero star rating if this was possible. Our project started as a grout replacement of the kitchen counter-tops. Nestor and Luis were on time, very professional and very respectful of our home. They protected the cabinets and floors with plastic. The dust and mess was mitigated by vacuuming while removing the old grout. At the end of the day we had very little dust. We first expanded the project to restoring the slate floors in two bathrooms and a laundry room. We also had the tile in the Master Bath cleaned and sealed. Everything turned out great. "Sparks Tile and Stone" recommended "The Specialist" to us, which we are grateful.
