I love this place! Booking was easy and I opted for a 90 minute massage. La Juana greeted me on the first floor in a warm, peaceful space. We had a consultation to review what was going on with my body. Then, she brought me downstairs into her wonderful massage space. The massage was beyond amazing. La Juana's hand work is strong and moved with intention to address my problem areas. She was very accommodating during the massage: variations in pressure for different areas, music, temperature, etc. At the end, she gave me recommendations for stretches, products, etc. I had a wonderful time here and can't wait for my next appointment! read more

LaJuana has a true gift. Her space is the very definition of welcoming and healing. On a trip to NYC, I booked my partner and myself the 60-minute massage. The experience was so intentional, starting with a short consultation during which she asked questions to get to know us better, and then an explanation of what to expect during the massage. She used a variety of techniques during the massage that reminded me of Thai massage + Swedish + hot stones and some other tools that I had never experienced before. As a Black and Asian person respectively, my partner and I both value wellness care facilitated by people of our same identities. The quality of the energy here is so easy to surrender to. We are so grateful that this place exists--it really lives up to its name as THE Spaaaht! read more

The SPAaaht is housed in what was formerly a violin boutique, and hosts a winding staircase that leads to where the major services are performed. La Juana, the proprietor, will sit and discuss your needs/preferences before any services begin. I liked that this felt more comfortable than the cold, clinical feel you get at some places where you start by filling out generic forms. I delayed writing this review for a number of selfish reasons. The first one being that this is one of those places where you go to relax. I love the idea that all services are done through appointments so there is no annoying pair or group of hens gossiping and cackling while I am trying to get my Zen on. The minute you walk in, you enter a calming atmosphere with a scent that soothes your fears. I have always left here feeling and looking 1,000x better than when I first walked in. The products used are organic, natural and smell wonderfully. If you have sensitive skin or are concerned with what goes on or into your body this is a great place to check out. La Juana had no problem with my inquiries in this regard. I honestly feel that she enjoys her work and that it's not just a job. Her ability to turn a facial or massage into a luxurious experience is unique and not to be missed. Setting up an appointment was very easy and the customer service is top notch. I took away one star because the winding staircase may be difficult for some to manage and because the website needs to be updated. Aside from that, this is a winner in my book. read more

I came for the footcial for the first time today, and it was easily the best pedicure experience I have ever had! La Juana is amazing, professional and the energy that she has cultivated in the spa is palpable. It's cozy, comfortable and calming. The second you come in you're greeted with a huge smile and the sweetest smells of the lotions and potions she uses. The footcial was about an hour long and the first pedicure I have had since the start of the pandemic. La Juana took super good care and left my feet feeling baby soft and incredibly healthy. Her polishes are Vegan and very good for your nails and the exfoliating massage was amazing. It is a dry pedi so be prepared that it's different than your average pedi but it was unlike anything else I've had done and is worth every penny! If you live in the area or want to spend some time relaxing before hitting Riverside park, I cannot recommend La Juana and The Spaaht enough. I'll absolutely be back to experience her other services! read more

I walked in for my appointment but floated out after a 90 minute deep tissue massage. Calm, soothing vibe, and magic hands. This is just what everyone needs in these crazy times. Lots of wonderful pampering to choose from. This is one of those places where you want to try it all. read more

Skin glows. She knows what to do and does it! I'm making it a regular ritual for wellness and beauty.

We gift certificate for a massage for our tour manager/producer after a 24 city tour! He said the experience was incredible. Highly recommended! read more

I've been wanting to treat myself to a massage for a long time and while researching places downtown, I remembered there was a spa within walking distance from my apartment. Why hop on the subway when I can experience bliss only a few blocks away and support a local business? I booked a 60 minute massage with an added scalp treatment and let me tell you, it was a magical experience. La Juana was so warm and welcoming and you can tell she truly enjoys what she does. I'm looking forward to returning and enjoying more of The SPAaaht's services in the future. Thank you for everything! read more

I was looking for a Black woman-owned nail salon in The Bronx and came across The SPAaaht instead. I am so happy to have found this place! I have never had a more relaxing experience while getting my nails done, and I'm excited to become a regular. I booked a footcial and was in heaven. Nothing but bliss. I'm pretty sure I dozed off during my appointment, which rarely happens. The SPAaaht is a GEM, especially with La Juana's calm and warming presence! I enjoyed our conversation while waiting for my polish to dry. Just an all around great experience. 10/10 would def recommend! read more

I'd been meaning to try to place because it's so close to me and it has amazing reviews. First of all I walked in and loved the vibe and atmosphere. It's cozy, warm, and has all the amenities you can think of to make the experience as relaxing as possible. The space was very clean and I felt very safe there. I also like that it's one customer at a time so no rush and no pressure. The actual massage was incredible. I told her my areas of pain and she hit them well. Her technique is awesome and her touch is light as a feather. I also loved that feet were included in the full body as sometimes they're ignored. The aromatherapy oils were also magical and it was great to smell like that all day. Overall an excellent experience and I will be going back. read more

This is my favorite place to revive. A standing appointment to take care of my nails, or toes, or for a massage and facial? You bet- this is the spot. LaJuana, owner and loveliest soul for miles, carefully performs every service. She is, simply put, marvelous. I have had manicures, massaged, special swivel table massages (incredible), pedicures, peels, and more. I've always been pleased. She uses a line by sparituals that's great; it's a gel polish that doesn't need to be removed with harsh chemicals. And it lasts. LaJuana is educated about all her products, she cares deeply for her clients and she's real. It doesn't get better than that. read more

The SPAaaht is literally that. The space is wonderful, calm, and unique. La Juana has a true gift that cannot be taught or replicated. Her presence is healing, grounding, and wise. I got a facial and she went above and beyond in her time and service. I am already counting down the days to my next facial or massage. If you are thinking about it, BOOK NOW. You will not regret it. The best investment I've made in months. Thank you La Juana, you are the epitome of a healer. read more

I don't normally get massages because I've always thought of them as a treat for special occasions only, but I decided to go in for a seated massage with La Juana to help out with some shoulder and neck pains that I had been having that week. The massage was very relaxing and La Juana was very attentive and accommodating. I felt loose and limber afterwards. The next morning my soreness reduced significantly. This will definitely be my go-to spot for massages. read more

I got a Himalayan salt massage from La Juana today and it was just fantastic. I didn't realize how much stress and anxiety I had been carrying with the pandemic and everything, but I immediately started to feel better at the spaaaht! I feel so much better than when I went it! Can't wait to go back soon. read more

Wow. What an insanely good experience I had yesterday. Rarely do you meet a true healer -- but La Juana is that. She has created an experience that transports you to the mountains of Colorado or the shores of Hawaii. It felt like I went on vacation. Worth it. Will be back again and again. Best massage experience ever. read more

Life is full of choices, so choose yourself! I do every time I make an appointment at The Spaaaht. I've been going here since it opened. I always leave renewed and refreshed from the inside out. Touch is key because it takes experience and natural skill to touch someone and that's what La Juana imbues with every motion of her hands. It's better than any natural drug! The facial treatment was no different. It was combined with her signature aroma therapy and selected music. The facial was accompanied with a massage. The next day I woke up with glowing, soft, smooth skin. It continued a few days after. She advised on maintenance as well as follow up to see how my skin was feeling. This is a special place. If you want to feel special inside and out, choose yourself and visit The Spaaaht! read more

In my life I've had hundreds of massages all over the world, today's massage tops them ALL! I was lucky to have La Juana, the owner, massage me. She not only knows and understands the human anatomy perfectly but she also "listened to my body" - we never spoke throughout my massage and she exactly knew what I needed. I'm in literal bliss right now and my body feels sooo light and healed. I highly recommend La Juana and her perfectly clean, calming, welcoming SPA. read more

She was wonderful! Me and my daughter went for chair massages. I've had hundreds of chair massages and this was by far the best ever! She uses a special chair where she can get every part of your back, neck and arms. Very relaxing atmosphere and the owner is super professional, down to earth and passionate about what she's doing, and the revitalization of this wonderful neighborhood. We're so grateful we found this gem within walking distance of our rental. Will definitely go back when we're in the area again. read more

La Jauna is incredible. Just to try it out, I went with the chair massage. It. Was. The. Most. Incredible. Chair. Massage. Ever. I carry my stress in my shoulders and upper back, and she instantly found the knot that held all of my stress, gravitating to it and working it for the next half hour. I'll be going back. Regularly. read more

March 2018-mani & pedi. To my utter surprise, the pedi is a dry pedi; the owner justifies saying it's because better higiene-I want to be optimistic and avoid further articulating so I decide to just relax. Tools they use do not seem to be professional grade-that would explain why it takes longer than you'd expect to do the job, and the result is anything but satisfying. The rest of the story is embarrassing to say the least-they have no drying device, so the moment I leave the place, my mani is completely ruined. They give you no slippers either-guess how my pedi is doing once I get home. I couldn't believe I had to book another appointment somewhere else the same day. Extremely disappointed. read more

Very cozy/inviting place. I had a wonderful massage with Dawud - he focused on my problem areas (shoulders and lower back) and also stretched out my hips and hamstrings (I didn't even realize I needed that!) He is very knowledgeable and glad to share his thoughts on things if you're interested. For example, we were discussing nutrition and he reminded me that leafy greens are the best way to get iron. Simple tip, yes, but I needed to hear it. In fact, I stopped by the juice shop on the way home and had a wheat grass shot. Thanks, Dawud! read more

A true gem. If you live nearby - there is simply no beating the SPAaaht. La Juana is a talented and intuitive masseuse. I had a half hour massage, tailored to my needs, and left feeling 1000X better. I will certainly be returning!!!! read more

I had the Swaywaver massage and it was amazing! You lay on a special table that sways. As she massages you, La-Juana controls the movement of the table. It tilts and allows her to apply pressure at an angle that a regular massage table does not allow. It's great for your alignment and lymphatic system. Also, I slept very well afterwards. Will definitely do it again! Thanks, La-Juana! read more

Love, love , love La Juana's professionalism, skill and the ambiance she's created with compassion for her clients. It's a feel good spot for me when visiting Harlem after a 5 hour flight from Arizona. Lucky for me, she's doors away from my daughter & son-in-love's home! read more

An absolutely joy! I'm glad I live so close. Truly the best masseuse I have found in nyc, very intuitive and relaxing, we discuss what is sore and what needs attention and the highest attention and care is given. I love getting massages here!! read more

Had a massage there recently. The massage therapist, Dawut, was amazing. So is the owner, Lajuana, who was my massage therapist during earlier visits. This is a great, very well run local business. Instead of going to a large chain, go to a small business who will listen to you and care about you. They had to close for a while due to a fire in the brownstore next door, but they are back now. I have not received the individual attention I received here anywhere else. read more

La Juana is INREDIBLE. My shoulders were a tight, knotty mess beforehand, and I felt them relax for the first time in months after her massage. The SPAaaht is such a great addition to the neighborhood, I can't wait to come back! read more

It is such a treat to be able to stroll over to The SPAaaht for an expert spa treatment in my upper Manhattan/Harlem neighborhood. La Juana Smith-Huebner has created a beautiful, comfortable, artistic spa in an ideal location on St. Nicholas St at 149th. She uses top-of-the-line, natural products, and her massage and facial techniques are 5-Star. She's a true professional. This place is amazing - La Juana is lovely and gives one of the best massages I've ever had! Definitely going back....

La Juana is attentive and incredibly skilled. Hands down the best pedicure I've ever had because it's so much more than a pedicure - think of it more as a facial for your feet. I literally grew up in a day spa, and The Spaaaht has a local day spa feel with 5 star services. A real gem in the neighborhood. read more

I adore this space + LaJuana. I went in for a full (4-hour spa day) as a treat for my birthday and left blissfully relaxed. When you first arrive at the spa it's welcoming- low lighting, zen + smells heavenly. You're greeted by LaJuana who is so warm and makes you feel like you're long time friends. She sits and discusses your preferences, allergies, beauty routine, etc. I went in for a Brazilian (my first!), full leg + underarm wax, full body massage and a facial (hey it was my birthday present to myself!) and left pampered to the max. She made me feel comfortable, respected and made my first Brazilian as painless as possible. The massage melted the tension + stress and my facial left my skin glowing. I can't wait to book my next session and have recommend SPAaaht to all my friends + co-workers. The SPAaaht is the perfect oasis uptown, bring a munch needed service to our community. read more

I can't begin to say how amazing this place is. Get ready for some first class pampering. I have had massages all over the city in some very high end places but, I have to say, nothing tops LaJuana's talents. When you're on her super comfy table she pays meticulous attention to make sure that every muscle in your body will become relaxed. This woman knows the human body - amazing technique! What I particularly appreciated was she never for a moment made me feel rushed. I was able to savor the treat (and believe me, it's a treat!) completely. Her manis and pedis are equally luxurious. This is no walk-in quick dry place. She uses special polishes that are non toxic (I didn't even know these existed). I can't wait to try a facial here! 5 stars hands down! read more
