I had the worse massage ever. I was so cold and Emma insisted they do not have blankets. I had a wonderful facial on July 17 in the same room and was comfortable. I go there 3 or 4 times a year. I have been going there for over 6 years. Experiences have always been wonderful till I got Emma. Stay away from her. She is cruel. I almost walked out! I love going to the spa! I had my first massage there. It wasn't that great but the girl who did it, is no longer there so not a big deal. I had a massage when I was over due on my pregnancy to kick start labor. Although it did not work...it was still an AMAZING massage. And I loved that I was able to lay on my stomach for the first time in 7 months. It was heaven! I can't remember the man's name but he is the owner and is very sweet and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I have had a facial there by Bobby (owner) and it made my skin look great. I had a lot of break outs on my chin, from stress while I was planning my wedding and she cleared that right up. She was very sweet, she did talk a lot but I didn't mind. I had waxing done by Annette and she is the sweetest of them all!! And she did such a great job and made me feel comfortable (well as comfortable as possible while getting a wax) I got a pedi there once and will probably never get one there again. The woman was very nice, but it was on the expensive side for the work that was done. I get way better pedis at regular nail salons for half the price. Everyone I have met there is so nice and they always remember my name and chat with me. I don't think the prices are unreasonable but I always try to use the coupons they have on their website so then I can give whoever I see a bigger tip and it cost me the same amount. =) read more

Oh boy! Went there for microdermabrasion and a massage about a year ago and I can thank them for all the acne scars they left on my face!! Yes....Thank you!!! First the lady would not shut the hell up. There I was trying to relax and she was going on and on about her kid and her life - I DON'T CARE!!!! Then she began asking ME personal questions: what do you do? what does your husband do? where do you live? Do you own or rent your house? what do your parents do? where do your parents live? where did your husband go to college? where are you going to college? how old are you? do you have kids? Seriously???? is the FBI in on this? I don't get it!! Then just when I thought microdermabrasion was over, she started poking some blackheads and pimples (I had quite a few back then) with some metallic wand and I thought: oh ok she knows what she's doing so I'll let it go....errrrrr bad idea - by popping the pimples and blackheads she literally scarred my cheeks. Don't let ANYONE touch your face unless it's a dermatologist!!! Up to this very day I am still trying to get rid of the red scars that I developed thanks to her. No disrespect to these facial ladies in general but they're no specialists - I'm sorry! I will never trust anyone with my skin EVER again..... read more

It's been a while since I've written reviews on yelp. It's been even longer since my last facial. And so, after a friend spontaneously booked me an appointment at The Spa, I was apprehensive. There were three of us but none has ever tried The Spa before. And so, to calm my nerves, I consulted Yelp about this place. I got nothing that would answer my specific questions. I would just have to hold my breath and wish for the best. Fortunately, I had Danielle as my esthetician. She gave a great overall facial experience. I was comfortable with her and our conversations were very pleasant. I was in the room for a little more than an hour. Before we began, she asked me what I felt I needed and suggested what would be good for the type and condition of my skin. The facial included paraffin wax treatment for the hands, foot massage, and extractions. It was torture, especially the last procedure. But, it was all worth it for me! Price-wise, it's like going in for a nice haircut at your favorite salon. But, I recommend looking out for coupons. I got $10 off on this service! read more

From the moment you walk through the door, you are greeted by pleasant aromas, pleasant decor and smiling faces. Good selection of treatments and products to choose from. I had an appointment for a facial with Heather... What a sweetheart! She spent the time explaining the process to me, doing a skin analysis and created a microdermabrasion service specifically for my skin! I appreciated the fact that she didn't go overboard and told me tips to take home with me! She is very knowledgable from all her degrees and certifications/licenses. And her demeanor was perfect! I've never felt so relaxed after a treatment like this... Complete with a hand scrub and foot massage! I'll definitely be back when I'm up this way from Orange County again! This place is amazing. I always forget the girls name who gives me massage but if I'm not mistaking it's Valeri. She is absolutely amazing. I came here the first time when I had issues with my back. My sciatica nerve had basically made me paralyzed in one leg and I could not stand up straight if my life depended on it. I had to go on short term disability that's how bad it was and mind you I was only 24 years old. I went to different doctors and physical therapist and I can only tell you things got worse for me. I felt helpless and miserable. I had constant pain. I would only lay down on my stomach all day long in pain none stop and taking pain meds. Finally, I had more than enough of it and decided to seek for a different kind of treatment. I found this place and asked for their best massage package. It must have been their 1 hour one. Valeri helped me to the room since I couldn't even walk and had to drag my left leg after me. She saved my life. I couldn't thank her enough and couldn't believe it. After the massage I was able to stand straight. Thats after a month of pain and agony. I went back there two or three more times and the pain dissapeared for good. This was back in June and I'm still doing great. Can't wait to go back in again. read more

I absolutely love this place!! My husband and I both have had massages here and love love love it. The second you walk in there is a feeling that comes over you of pure peace and relaxation!! My husband sees Jessica. He is an ultra runner and needs a lot of work on his IT bands and lower back. He also has a genetic disposition to hunch back. When he comes home I swear he has grown 3 inches!! I see Stephanie for chronic pain and tension issues (TMJ and plantar fasciitis among other things) and she is so amazing!! I visited The Spa for the first time back in September because I needed a new waxer who not only did eyebrows and facial waxing but Brazilian as well. There aren't very many places in Turlock that do Brazilians. Anyway, I went to The Spa and I was waxed both times (two separate visits, one for face one for Brazilian) by a woman named Bri. She did an EXCELLENT job, super sweet and made me feel so comfortable. The wax was actually gentle on my sensitive skin and the service was a speedy one. The Spa itself is in an odd location, very little parking, but the inside is pretty. I knew I definitely wanted to go back because Bri did such a good job, why hadn't I met her earlier in life?! Anyway, I made another appointment to receive a wax and I walked in very early because Bri told me she could take me earlier if I wanted. I showed up at 5:10 or so and was greeted by who I assume is the owner at the front desk. I told her I had an appointment and she said "No you don't". I just looked at her and said "Well, yes I do. With Bri" and she said "No you don't. Bri doesn't work here anymore." I said "oh wow I didn't know that, I'm very early so maybe she was going to let me know closer to my appointment. Would you happen to know where she's at now?" The rude woman said in a snarky tone "Nope. How unprofessional of her to not tell you, what a nerd." Ummmm...? I assumed she was bitter about Bri no longer working there, however, that is not MY problem. Although I plan on continuing to use Bri for waxing, I would like massage services, facials, etc in the future that I COULD HAVE gone to the Spa for. How incredibly unprofessional to involve clients in your petty drama. I don't know Bri on a personal level at all, I don't know this owner on a personal level at all, so can someone please explain to me why I was treated like I had done something wrong?! This woman had such a rotten attitude during our entire exchange that day and just kept repeating herself saying that Bri is so unprofessional for not telling me she had moved which was an honest mistake. And to pretend like she didn't know Bri's new location? What a pathetic display, she could've easily turned it around from the get go. A true professional would have apologize for the mishap, told me where Bri was, and offered their services since I was already there in a polite manner or offered me a pamphlet for other services. I had to move and man oh man do i miss them!!! Everyone there is amazing to say the least. I went for facials, massages and waxing. But my favorite visit was when I had my bridal spa shower there in 2010 and they accommodated my bridal party and timed out our massages. They even made special adjustments to ensure I got my full body massage along side my mom and we got to take a break from the stresses of planning to enjoy, RELAX and get excited about the upcoming events. I had a prenatal massage and it was absolutely amazing. I had been having issues with sciatic pain every so often while I slept. It only took Efrain about 10 minutes to guess which side I slept on from how my body felt. After an hour, I felt completely new! My 16 year old daughter went with me to The Spa, for a birthday mini spa day. It was her first facial so I was nervous because she is shy, uptight and doesn't relax easily. I was shocked my daughter said she LOVED IT. The skin therapist Katie and she did a fantastic job. I got the best deep tissue massage by Jessica she is so strong and professional. Really disappointed. I just left here and paid $40 to get a full face wax. It took about 15 minutes and the waxing girl only did half of my face. From my mustache and below she waxed which was great but from my cheeks up to my forehead she did not touch at all. If I were a man asking for my beard and mustache waxed it would have been fine but I wanted an entire face wax and I did not receive it. I still have hair all on my cheeks, side of my face, and forehead. Now I am at a threading place paying ANOTHER $40 to get them to finish the job. I do not recommend this place for face waxing and I'm surprised that their ratings are so high. read more

I have had massages by Sukprit, Jessica and Oscar and all are extremely professional. I've been here several times for waxing with Danielle. She is thorough and nice. You will get a talk about exfoliating and moisturizing if you are not doing these already. I also got an amazing bourbon body scrub. A little pricey compared to Bay Area salons (for waxing only), but a nice place. Staff is very professional and there is plenty of parking in the back. read more

1st off Amazing!!!!! I was very scared to walk into this place, not because of the location or how to building looked, but because I have been to one waxing lady for the past 10 years. And I tried a place in Atwater a few months back and they waxed and threaded and tweezed my eyebrows, who does all that, I don't have that much hair lol. And the only reason why I can't go to Nancy (my previous waxer) is because she's located in San Jose, where I'm from. I have to say, Katee, the girl who waxed my eyebrows was amazing. She was so nice and conversed with me, it was the first time I also tried the peel off waxing strips. Which was a lil different for me. But it didn't hurt at all, when she peeled them off the would place her hand on that section to ease the pressure/pain. And she even gave me a goodie bag lol for being a 1st timer for that Spa. The receptionist Patty was also very nice she mentioned my eyebrows looked great. Especially since I have to say my eyebrows were looking horrific after 2 months of no care haha. But she even walked me to my car because it was dark. Which I felt was very nice and thoughtful. I will definitely be going there for now on. Yay I found a new favorite place. read more

The Spa used to be my go to place for massages, waxes, and skin care. Not anymore. After not one, not two, but 3 appointments cancelled at the last minute that were scheduled weeks before with either "a booking error" or "staff emergency" and the best the owner can say is "sorry but you will have to wait another 4 weeks for the next available appointment". What woman over 40 can wait up to 2 months for a facial wax? Am I right ladies?!!! I AM DONE! If it were just the scheduling problems I might be able to get past that but the last lip wax I went in for I still had a full mustache when she was done. I asked the aesthetician to fix it and was told she had another appointment but the front desk would try to fit me in. You guessed it, "Next available appointment is not for another week, on a week day, in the middle of the morning". Because apparently I have the look of a woman of leisure that doesn't have to worry about such trivial issues such as work or child care. And yes, I still paid full price for apparently nothing. Save your time, money, and energy and literally go anywhere else in Northern California. read more

I just got my first shellac manicure and it was the worst experience ever! I love The Spa for massages, but Jaime gave the worst manicure. Not only did she seem scared to hold a nail file, but she can't paint a straight line for a french tip. My nails look like I have a weird two tone tip. One my natural nail, the other painted. The paint was also very bumpy so that my nails looked like lizard skin. She had to redo some of the nails (at my prompting) and even then they look horrid. To make matters worse all she talked about was her child custody battle. I have enough stress in my own life. I go to the spa to relax and unwind, not here someone else's drama. It seems like the paint will hold up well for a few weeks, but for as bad as they look I don't think I would want to keep it on that long. read more

I came here a few months ago for a facial because the lady I usually see was busy. I came in and filled out the form and noted that I was pregnant. For any spa service, there needs to be accommodations for pregnant women. While the gal that was doing the facial was really friendly I noticed she started to do some high frequency on my face. I said as far as I know you were not allowed to do high frequency when you were pregnant and she said that was incorrect and it was fine. So I went against my better judgment and let her continue with the service. I went home and contacted my doctor who confirmed my suspicion. She said one time service with high frequency should be OK but to no longer allow them to do that. I was very upset given this being my first pregnancy I am very paranoid about the health of my baby. I decided to send the owner and email and said I would not write a yelp review but I just wanted them to be aware of the situation. Months have gone by and I did not even get any sort of response from them which has been prompted me to assume that they do not care about the well-being of their clients. My goal is that they will start to hire people that are more knowledgeable on contraindications for the spa services. read more

SO good! I had an hour massage with Andrea and it was honestly the best massage I've ever had. It was evident that she knew what she was doing and took care to ensure her technique was therapeutic and calming. I've had a number of not-so-great massages elsewhere and dread being stuck for an hour with a masseuse who rushes/doesn't use proper technique, but this massage was heaven.
