In the spirit of my self-care 2019, I went to Serenity Med Spa for a facial. I gave Grace the reigns and asked her to do whatever facial she felt would be best for my skin. She accurately guessed that I've been slipping on my daily water intake and suggested the Hydrating facial. It was so relaxing and afterwards, my face looked visibly renewed and refreshed. I chugged a bottle of water after my appointment. Unfortunately, I forgot to redeem my yelp check in offer. So I'll have to remember that for next time. Loved my experience here, and I can't wait to come back!

I did the Signature Facial which is a custom facial specific to your skincare needs. She made me feel comfortable and communicated effectively with me about the entire process. I love how knowledgeable and honest she was, which made me trust her tremendously. At first I wasn't sure if I could tell a difference in my skin afterwards, but my skin was GLOWING! My boyfriend (who notices everything) could even tell that I was radiating. My makeup applies more smoothly, my pores are smaller, and the dullness in my skin is gone. I've already recommended Serenity Spa to all of my coworkers & cannot wait for my next facial! Thank you so much again, Grace!

"Um..."…read moreAfter confirming it was the Med Spa, I scheduled my appointment and she told me she would be doing my facial. The correct address is the Post Oak location although here on Yelp it mentions Edloe. I googled this place quite a few times before scheduling because I was looking for a specific treatment and Sousan seems to be the only person offering them, Silk Peels. The inside of the building is an open floor plan with plants everywhere. I had to call Sousan to find her office because its tucked down a hall in the first floor. Maria came out and walked me down the hall to the brightly lit office where I filled out a couple forms before heading down the spa hall and into a room. The softly lit room smelled so fresh and just looking at the white comforter on the table made me relaxed enough to fall asleep. I was told then Maria would be doing my peel and I was already relaxed And had built a small rapport with Maria so I was ok with it. Maria did a great job and I'm very pleased. I did not take pictures but I will next time. ***I did mention to Sousan about the address being incorrect here in yelp.

Every individual on staff is highly competent and offers great conversation and a welcoming personality. Dr. McNamara provides exceptional care. He is always on time, knowledgeable, friendly, honest, and kind. One of the many things that has impressed me is that Dr. McNamara has never tried to promote anything unnecessary or costly. In fact quite the opposite is true, he has steered both my husband and I to less expensive treatments when there were options, and has reduced or waived additional fees when I've come in for a check in appointment. When presented with a suggestion for a service, I was provided information to consider and the rest was up to me. No pressure. I also want to take time to applaud each of the amazing men I've had the pleasure of meeting in their various capacities (Dr. McNamara, Walter, and Jose), for each being dynamic, and highly skilled in their respective roles, and for also sharing the ethical and attractive quality of never fishing for insecurity in a person in order to push product or services. That quality can be far too rare in this industry. I really believe this to be a business that is an exception to that rule. It is a practice where elective services are client lead and based on the professionals truly wanting the best outcomes for their patients. These are just a few of the countless reasons that I feel blessed to have found them and I will keep coming back. The glowing reviews are absolutely accurate and exceedingly well deserved!

Pure genius, in how Dr McNamara uses the latest, more cutting edge injectable, and unlike other places that I have been, has a real eye for aesthetics in seeing and enhancing one's natural features. Felt like 10 years were erased!

Unfortunately, my experience with management was disappointing. I felt that I was treated unfairly in a situation that could have been handled much better, and what was most frustrating was that the managers at the time did very little to acknowledge or rectify the situation. Because of that, I ultimately decided to cancel my membership. After I canceled, I was contacted by a new manager who asked if she could make things right with me. I really appreciated that she listened, took my concerns seriously, and genuinely made an effort to make things right. She followed through, and I want to give her credit for that. I'm still not sure whether I'll continue with a membership at Hiskin. My hesitation now is less about the service and more about the open-concept setup. I personally prefer a more private, relaxing experience when I'm getting a facial. I do appreciate the new manager reaching out and making an effort to turn a negative experience into a much more positive one. That meant a lot to me.

My most recent facial at the Rice Village location was a terrible experience, and the way my…read moreattempts to cancel my membership have been handled have been even more disappointing. During my last appointment, I received a facial with dermaplaning. The esthetician was so rough that I left with significant irritation followed by peeling and scabbing that lasted for about a week. I've had facials here before and have had dermaplaning elsewhere, and I have never experienced anything like this. Once the initial swelling and redness had gone down, it looked like I had cuts from the dermaplaning. After this experience, I emailed the studio to cancel my membership. Instead of processing my request, I was told I had to call. The employee I spoke with was dismissive and informed me that I could not receive the cancellation paperwork until **after** I was charged AGAIN in August. She also mentioned a "cancellation fee," despite that fee not appearing anywhere in the membership agreement. She promised to send me a copy of the agreement but never did, so I had to locate it myself. The membership agreement states that the membership requires a minimum of three recurring billing cycles, after which members may cancel before their next billing date with no additional billing simply by contacting the location. None of this is the case. My membership began in May, and I have already completed the three May, June, and July billing cycles (although I hope to get a refund because I did not go in July because of this experience, and I feel like June should be refunded because of how awful my service was). The employee claimed May did not count because I supposedly received a new-client rate. That is incorrect. I was not a new client and did not receive a new-client rate (see attached statements where I was charged for the membership in May and for charges before becoming a member). The information I was given over the phone did not match the written membership agreement, and there appears to be no corporate phone number available to resolve disputes. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the Rice Village location or the HiSkin membership program at all.
