A great spa. Went for my mother in law's 80th birthday celebration and it was so nice being with some of the ladies in our family for a fun spa day. The staff were so nice and helpful. Walked around any corner and there was someone who greeted you and to answer any questions or help you with any needs or even hand you a fresh smoothie. My service was great and my provider was amazing and listen to all of my needs. I have had a lot of broken bones so spas aren't always great for me. The spa itself was very clean. Loved the salt water pool indoors, so none of that chlorine I am going to pass out smell or feeling here. Wish they would update the shower curtains to something else. A little dated compared to everything else but that also could just be a me thing. Regardless 5 stars. Would 100 recommend if you are in Pinehurst. Thank you for making my mother in law feel so special for her big day. read more

Had a disappointing massage last week that was interrupted due to front desk mistake. Although the massage was interrupted, no time was added. To add insult to injury, I was asked to pay gratuity ON TOP OF a 20% service charge (meaning they want 40% for service charges and fees), which is ridiculous. Supervisor was unhelpful, manager did not call back, and there seems to be a lack of training. Will not go back. read more

I hate to leave a bad review but I would also hate for anyone to have what happened to me happen to them. I went in for a cut and color - the color was great and I have no complaints there. However, I asked for a trim only for the cut as I have been growing my hair out for a couple years. I left with a curly blowout that looked fine, however the next day I was shocked and horrified when I washed my hair as I realized I had chunks of my hair all around that were chin length and totally not blended with the rest of my hair. I went in to another salon to see what could be salvaged and left with a long bob barely to my shoulders - I had to have 8 inches cut off to fix it! I was super disappointed and upset and hate having my hair this short. The spa manager was gracious and did refund my hair cut cost which I appreciated, I just wish I hadn't have had to have this cut. read more

Absolutely, devine. From the minute you walk up to this awesome building, you are in awe! Inside is just beautiful with a staff that does not disappoint. Every turn someone is their offering something from water, fresh towels, robes, smoothies! Got the seasonal massage that was just amazing. I just wish I had more time to soak it all up and enjoy it. The pool, jacuzzi, waiting areas, are stocked well with refreshing amenities, spa waters, hot teas, and anything you can imagine. The products they use are suburb, and amazing. I loved being pampered here. It was a perfect day and such a glorious hot stone massage! Afterward I got a smoothie, read a magazine and went into the whirlpool. It was a slow day so I had the place pretty much to myself. The men's area is clothing OP but I'm glad I didn't see any of those men nude, it would've ruined the look. After the hot tub I went to the pool outdoors and had a relaxing day while talking to a couple who thought they had seen me on TV. I told the I was on America's Most wanted and they laughed. I wish I could give this spa 5 stars, because my expectations were high. For the price point I went in expecting over the top exceptional service and facilities. Both were lacking. I feel checking out that the ladies at the desk were brass and rude. When i walked over to the ryder's lounge to ask for directions to the restaurant on the 18th hole. I had to interrupt the employee reading the paper, who pointed and said about a block down the road. With it being 95 degrees outside, I didn't feel like a scavenger hunt. When I walked to the front of the resort, fanning myself the man at the door asked, " what are you doing? Swatting a gnat? No, I say.... it's hot! Rude. The nicest person i encountered was the shuttle driver to the Deuce lounge who said he has worked there nearly 17 years and didn't know if he would make it one more. I can see why I get to the Deuce lounge and received very mediocre service once again. Just a huge disappointment with a huge price tag. Never again. read more

Head here every Christmas when I'm in town. Have never been disappointed. Sam gives a great massage, he worked out a pretty stiff knee. Very chill, either by the pool or the tubs. Never crowded (at least during the holidays). Staff always accommodating. read more

Erika helped set up the appointments and was super kind and friendly. She offered to arrange lunch to be brought in, which I may take advantage of next time... Filthy! Disgusting gym spa that has literally not been cleaned in maybe a year. Cobwebs and mounds of dust and skin cells, machines all covered in dry sweat and filth, disgusting carpet with many stains. I altered the management about this two weeks ago and have just returned to find that still no one has cleaned! The spa has really gone down hill in recent years. Treatments are over priced and mediocre and facilities are worn out and GROSS! A real shame. read more

I usually get deep tissue massages, but since I just had one the day before which was included in my respite package, I opted for the Swedish massage. Visited the spa with friends one afternoon. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the pinehurst massage was wonderful ! However I also had a manicure that was pleasant but did not hold up and was very pricey. I assumed I would pay a little more but I was charged $30 to remove gel and $50 for a regular polish. On top of those prices is the 20%service charge. The woman was very nice but 3 nails had split within 2 days so I feel I was ripped off for this service. Very relaxing spa in a rural resort setting. Staff is super-friendly, professional, and attentive. Complimentary water, tea, coffee and dried fruit in the large waiting area with a whirlpool and lap pool. There is an additional more private whirl pool in the women's locker room. The setting and amenities are very nice for central NC, better than you could find in Fayetteville. They also offer military discounts! read more

Went to the Spa and only had a mediocre experience. My $100 pedicure was not special at all....for that price I expected something special and there was NO frill to the service. My massage was okay. I had an 80 minute hot stone and my masseuse was getting over a cold and sniffled the whole time. I tried to be considerate of the fact that she just wasn't feeling well, but when your in a setting that prides itself on the ambiance this is a major distraction. It left me wondering if the staff are allowed and encouraged to take sick time when not feeling well. For the price, almost $400 total after the actual massage and pedicure fees AND all the "service fees", I expected to feel like a princess and that level of pampering did not happen. I called to order a gift card for someone for the spa. They refused to send me a print out or just use my card for the person. They then said they would love to fed ex the card to me. Little did I know they would charge me $45 for shipping. I called to ask about it and the manager would not even speak to me. I was told I would have to call UPS. I received "The Pinehurst Package" as a gift, and it was such a treat. It included a massage, facial, pedicure, and manicure, as well as a complimentary lunch and cryotherapy session. The services were all wonderful. In between services, I had the opportunity to relax by the indoor pool, sauna, and spa. The staff was so accommodating and helpful. Lunch was wonderful, and I was offered smoothies while I waited in between services. Be sure to bring a good book if you enjoy reading by the pool. This was the perfect gift for relaxation. Since parking is shared with the resort, and the resort was super busy, I had to park in the downtown public parking area. It was a scenic walk, so I didn't mind, but additional parking on the premises for the spa would be awesome. read more

This is an update to a previous review. My husband and I spent the weekend at the resort and a day at the spa. Our experience at the spa was the complete opposite of my first experience. The facial was amazing, massage was great and the atmosphere was serene. I am unsure if they are under new management or not but it felt like a completely different place. read more

I had booked a surprise massage for my girlfriend to take her mind off of her horrible day at a different place. The other place called and cancelled due to a scheduling conflict. Not being from the area I asked if there was anywhere else she could get a massage. They mentioned Pinehurst Spa. The telephone staff was immediately helpful. I will say that at least the management is on top of their customer service!! I received a call from Branden today apologizing for my experience and inviting me back so they could redeem themselves. He did say that he appreciated us as customers and that it was important to him that I had a good experience. I will update my review again after my next trip but Management gets 5 stars!!
