Loved my Experience at the spa here! Everyone was super friendly and I loved their check in ritual with the scented towels and tea. The facilities themselves were very nice. They had a steam room, sauna, and a great relaxation area. You also get access to the outdoor pool if you want to utilize that while you are there. The massage itself was prefect and I always love when they let you pick your own aromatherapy scent. I gave the experience shower a try afterwards and it was neat. So many different water options, lights, and even music if you wanted. We grabbed lunch by the pool afterwards. Overall it made for a really lovely day. They will validate your valet so I think it ends up costing around $14 instead of the standard rate. read more

The spa was tranquil and extremely clean. After our treatment, we enjoyed the spa amenities - steam room, sauna and showers. They had some toiletries and goodies for spa guest to take home. I found this so thoughtful and detailed. We had lunch at the Oasis Pool Cafe right outside of the spa and it was delicious! I did get a deal with a miami spa month but I highly recommend it and it's worth it. Especially when you're able to go to the pool and lounge and enjoy the Miami sun!!! What's better than staying at the MO? Also having their spa experience. I really wasn't in the need for any type of massage or treatment, but I needed a color change for my pedicure. I was really happy that they were open on Fourth of July for an evening appointment. I arrived an hour early to sign off any paperwork and check out their amenities. Once I arrived, I was given complementary tea and a wet towel. The friendly receptionist gave me a tour of the facility. They had a relaxation room where you wait to be called for your treatment, the shower area, a steam room and two sauna rooms. In the locker room they had sinks, a hair station, and plenty of toiletries. The girl working there showed me my locker to where my slipper and robe was located. Once I changed out I decided to shower. Their rainfall shower is awesome. There is water coming at you from all directions. I like that you can control it though. Once I finished showering, I spent some time in their steam room and sauna. Both were great and super clean. I just wished that their sauna was a little more hotter. I made my way over to their relaxation room to wait to be called for my pedicure. In the relaxation room is plenty of comfy chairs and snacks. I munched on my blueberry yogurt covered pretzels and sipped on cucumber infused water. They also had fruit, other snacks, and other infused waters. My manicurist called my name and walked me over to their nail room. She had me choose my color out of the many beautiful chooses they had and had a sit on one of their comfy massaging pedicure chairs. She was pretty gentle and I didn't feel any discomfort. My only complaint was that she didn't use base coat and that it wasn't a full hour pedicure. Yes... she didn't use base coat. I was kinda mortified to be honest and OMG I wanted to scream. I survived though and my pedicure has been lasting for a good two weeks so far. The scrub and feet massage with lotion with amazing. My simple pedicure is usually $90 (with added gratuity and tax). I had a great time and would love to come back. I would recommend for anyone and even those not staying on the property. read more

Amazing experience all together. Valet was very warm and welcoming. Front desk at the spa were very accommodating and got us situated very quickly. The real stars were our masseuses Meysy and Mayra for my husband and me. We had a couple massage and they focused on the areas that we both requested and we left very relaxed and rejuvenated. So far this is the best spa I've been in the Brickell/Downtown area, which really doesn't surprise me since the Mandarin Oriental is one of the few (if not only) true Forbes five star rated hotels in the area. Service - as soon as you walk in the staff is attending to your needs. They encourage you to get off your feet and relax from the moment you arrive to the minute you leave. Regardless of where you are in the spa - someone is nearby to offer their assistance. This really added to the feeling of "pampering". My therapist (Luis) was AMAZING! He really made an effort to confirm my issues/goals and he was attentive to my comfort levels throughout the service. Luis, as well as all the other staff were the most professional out of any spa I've been to this far in Miami. Atmosphere - the spa is beautiful! Not ornate or ultra modern, but VERY clean and cozy. The women's spa area smelled lightly of insense like in a shrine/temple - this also really added to my relaxation. My only complaint would be that the common areas are rather small, so it does get a bit loud, but I was also there at s busy time so I'm sure it's much more peaceful Sunday through Thursday. Amenities - they have the typical dry & steam sauna, only two showers and a decently - sized relaxation room. It's much smaller than Lapis spa at Fontainbleau (which is an ideal size) BUT, unlike Lapis - ALL the amenities were in functioning condition! My mom set up a spa day for her and I to celebrate my birthday. The saunas were closed due to COVID but we were able to use the outdoor pool and the showers before heading to dinner at La Mar that evening. We were greeted with tea and given a tour of the spa area. It was smaller than I expected but nice and clean. No food or snacks or toiletries were left out due to COVID but were available upon request. The relaxation room is odd - just a bunch of reclined chairs separated by a thin curtain. My massage was good. My massage therapist asked if I was celebrating something special and surprised me and my mom with prosecco after our massage, which made up for my massage finishing before my mom's even though we had been called at the same time. When we returned to use the showers, my shower had no body wash in the dispenser - had to use good ol' shampoo for everything. The front desk staff was very helpful. All in all, a pleasant experience but expected a bit more from such a highly rated spa. read more

OMG. What a great experience. My friend and I enjoyed an Ayurvedic Holistic Body treatment at The Spa. Incredible. We arrived early so that we could have breakfast outside by the pool. We had omelets and the most beautiful fruit tray I have ever seen. Just beautiful. The service was great. The view was amazing. It's a nice infinity pool with an awesome view of Miami. When it was time for our spa treatment, we were greeted by a nice hostess. She showed us around, got us changed, etc. My friend and I sat in the eucalyptus steam room and then the sauna. So nice. Then it was time for our treatments. For almost two hours, I was pampered. I had a great salt scrub, followed by a pressure point massage, a scalp massage and facial. The masseuse was wonderful. I am still in full on relaxation mode after my amazing day at the spa here at Mandarin Oriental. I booked the all day package and it was extremely worth it! Everyone at the spa is extremely polite, helpful and warm. I spent most of my day with Anna. Anna is so sweet, always checked to make sure I was comfortable. She did my body scrub, body wrap, hot stone massage and facial. Anna gave me one of the best massages I have ever had! She is a tiny lady but don't let her size fool you! She is strong and when I told her a lot of pressure she got in there and got all of my back knots out! While doing my facial she had hands like a fairy so light and gentle! She is amazing!!! Finally had the opportunity visit this Five-Star Forbes awarded Spa. This Spa is a true Sanctuary and truly blew me away. Had the pleasure of going during Miami Spa month for the 50 minute massage with 3 other girl friends. If you decide to go during Spa month I highly recommend you schedule your appointment as early as possible as they get very busy during this month and later in the afternoon. My massage was at 1:00pm. I would maybe to call two weeks in advance and book a 10:00am apt. As soon as I walked in to check in they welcomed me graciously unlike any other spa I have ever experienced! They greeting me with a little tray that included a rolled up washcloth (for my hands) and infused water (to drink) pictured below. They took my shoes, gave me plastic sandals, and a wristband with the number of my locker. I then met up my friends for lunch and bubbly by the pool which was very enjoyable until 10 minutes before it was time for me to head to the relaxation room to meet my therapist. My Therapist Maria was amazing. I very fortunate & lucky to have my massage in a suite in the second floor of the spa. The suites are beautiful with high ceilings and bay view. Maria kindly asked me if I Ok with the volume of the Music, Light in the Room, and Temperature.. She then asked me to take a seat and she inquired if I had any special areas I wanted worked on and the type of pressure I enjoy. I don't think I had ever been asked that many questions before getting a massage. The 50 massage was excellent. Probably one of the best I have ever had. All of the Spa staff was very nice and polite. After my massage I was allowed to stay relaxing for a few minutes, which was amazing as I got myself together back to reality. I then hung out at the pool for a bit before showering in one of the Thermic showers with multiple jets which was fabulous!!! We went during Spa month & everything was perfect - except the crowd - obviously not MO's fault. They use a mixture of Espa product (which is my absolute spa fav) and their own line. The masseuse was great, perfect amount of pressure. I had the salt scrub & a deep massage. The only complaint I have is the shower in the room was more like a tap... No real jets. The relaxation room was limited to 6 chairs...although the chocolate pretzels made up for lack of space. 1 brand new shower with multiple jets and music you can control...definitely a great addition. All in all for the price I paid this month, it was great. Had I paid full price I wouldn't be happy. read more

This review is for the liftin facial, specifically. Prior to this experience, I've visited the Mandarin in DC and it was excellent. The facility is also nice if you spend an hour relaxing the vitality pool or steam room. The tubs are nice to enjoy before treatment. This was my first time at the Mandarin in Miami and I was disappointed. I was asked to arrive 45 minutes early before my appointment to have time to relax. Upon my arrival I was greeted by Sheila. She was courteous and very professional. She had me fill out a form, took my shoes and brought me a pair of slippers, with tea and a wet towel. She then proceeded to give a tour of the spa. Upon walking through the hallway there was strong smell of acetone. When we entered the locker room I noticed a stained towel on the floor. The facility is fairly small, two bathrooms, small locker rooms, two showers, regular sauna, a steam sauna and a relaxation area. The shower was dirty with hair from the previous person. After the use of the sauna I proceeded to the relaxation room to wait until the specialist called out my name. There are numerous beds with curtains. It reminded me of a hospital. After using the hot sauna and dirty shower I was expected to wait in the relaxation room until the specialist called my name. The attendants walk freely in and out of the relaxation room with noisy carts full of towels. This was a completely different experience from the Mandarin in DC. Now onto the facial. I had the Liftin Facial with a facialist who was supposedly one of their popular staff members, for whatever that is worth. I was initially excited to learn more about the facial massage. But this facial was so utterly boring and disappointing. The facialist didn't share any specific information about my skin through the entire facial. I'll admit that my skin is in descent shape, but it's certainly not perfect and I was hoping that there would be at least "some" feedback, discussion around my routine, or recommendations. Nothing. She literally said nothing and did not ask any questions. The entire facial consisted of her placing products on my face an wiping it off. The facial "massage" was light stroking of products (that I could have done myself, honestly). Guys, the ENTIRE time I was thinking about the serums and face oils I could have purchased for the money I was spending on this facial. At the end I noticed that instead of an 90 minutes I only received 60 minutes of a facial massage. When I asked her about the time she apologized and explained she was booked with other appointments. I asked to speak with the Manager - Marbella. She also apologized and explained that they had last minute walk in appointments and they couldn't go more than 60 minutes. I immediately thought of the Spa at the Mandarin Oriental since i have had great experiences in Asia with the brand. I was really disappointed in the whole experience. The Spa at Mandarin Oriental was a bit of a let down for me. It's in Brickell, and while the hotel and spa are beautiful this spa really is a city spa. The walls are THIN. In the sauna you can hear toilets flushing above you. In both the steam room and sauna you can hear everything going on outside rooms. When you pay the MO price you want to get your monies worth, I don't feel like I did. In addition to the noise issue, I wasn't pleased with my facial experience. I had an express hydro and I'm not going to speak on the results bc they vary but I was very taken aback by several little things. For example after the facial the esthetician asked if I wanted SPF. I had JUST gotten a chemical peel and ANY skincare specialist know that you MUST wear SPF afterwards. The question should be For consent not desire, it's one thing if we're in rainy Seattle in the middle of winter (still not an excuse) but we're in sunny S. Fl! That shows me there isn't a standard of care. There was also no run down of what care and precautions to take post facial. That is a standard for most facials. Now that I got that out the way. The facilities are very nice. Pretty interiors with modern and clean finishings. The staff is kind (valet could do better) and I did feel attended to. The powder room had almost anything you need and the shower is great. Would I go back, nope. Would I recommend it, not unless you have a previously existing relationship with the person treating you in which you trust them. In my opinion it's not worth the money. As an avid Spa fan, I have been to many a spa in my day - from Lapis at the Fontainebleau to The Spa at the Biltmore - I've been to quite a few. I have to say this is one of the best thus far! First off, their service is wonderful. Everyone from the valet people to the front desk, to the pool personnel and waiters are extremely friendly and helpful. The view is AMAZING! Overlooking the river and all of the high rises, the Mandarin Spa is like a quiet oasis in the midst of the concrete jungle that is Brickell. The fact that they have a man made" beach" with sand and bungalows says a lot! The Spa facilities itself are awesome. It's dark mahogany wood is warm and inviting. The waiting area is lovely and calming and you have a variety of waters and snacks to choose from. The massage itself was perfection, They have great massage tables that are adjustable to you don't have to be completely facing down which could make you a bit stuffy at times. Their steam room is fantastic and their showers are large and comfortable. My only complaint was that there were only 2 showers - not enough in my opinion. My friend had to wait until I was done. After our massages we went to the pool and had a bottle of white wine and some sushi - all delicious. Later we moved to the "beach" area for a nap and were visited by Brickell Key's greatest residents - the Iguanas! All in all, this is a great place for a relaxing massage. I highly recommend it. I had been to the spa several times prior to the pandemic. The Mandarin Oriental always offers the ultimate experience. I arrived an hour before my appointment so I could enjoy their facilities. As soon as you arrive the greeter exchanges your shoes for comfy slippers and offers a tray with a hot towel and cool tea. I was then ushered into the locker/bath area. They are completely stocked with everything you could need. Once you slip into a luxurious bathrobe, you enter a relaxation room with comfy recliner's and a lovely water feature that is very soothing. Karene came to take me to the treatment room for my body wrap. She was delightful and made me feel very comfortable. Once in the room she made sure that I understood what it entailed and asked if I had any questions or any other requests. The products she used were fantastic. The scrub has an incredible oil that remains even after a shower, leaving the skin silky. After the scrub and shower, she proceeded to put very light mud over my body and wrapped me for 20 minutes. After another warm shower, my personalized body wrap left my skin hydrated and refreshed. I highly recommend the spa, I've already made another appointment. I spent a lot of time researching the best choice for myself for a Spa day. I have worked in hospitality for many years at five diamond properties and have very high standards for quality five star service. I couldn't have been more happy with my choice of Mandarin Orientals Spa. Upon arrival I was greeted with chilled tea and a cool towel, much needed in the mid 90's heat we have right now in SoFl. A wonderful young lady gave me a tour of the spa and she was extremely kind and informative. I made my way to the relaxation room, which has very comfortable reclining padded chairs. My only suggestion would be a bit more privacy and there was a lot of traffic back and forth. Regardless I almost fell asleep twice which is rare for this borderline insomniac! Make sure you treat yourself to some of the oatmeal cookies and the flavored waters (I wasn't told they were there, I started seeing a few ladies going over to the corner). I was picked up on time by Erika. She was sweet and kind, made me feel very comfortable. I loved that she gave me the choice of my treatment oil, very fun. I had provided my preferences prior and she definitely took those into consideration. I asked for medium to deep pressure and I was extremely impressed how perfect it was. It was as if she was reading my mind, nothing better than that. At the end of the massage the thoughtfulness of cleaning off your feet so you're not slipping around on the spa shoes was a great touch. She also included the treatment oil used for me. Erika has a true gift! Overall it's clear why mandarin is rated 5 Star by Forbes. First class service, kind employees who clearly love their jobs, and beautiful facilities. My only gripe was that my facial treatment room was outside in the spa lobby and i could hear everything in the spa lobby. It was not really relaxing at all so i'm taking half a star off for that. Not a pleasant visit at the spa today. I've been to this spa 20+ times since I live a block away. I am a member of Mo club, which gives me a discount for the spa treatments. I guess the treatment I selected (mani pedi combo) is not included although it is in the menu, because it is a combo (?) while the gentleman who checked me in, said it was. There was nobody in the spa whatsover. After checking in the director of the spa came literally out straight to my face; at first I thought this was to thank me for my repeated business over the years, but to my greatest surprise, it was to give me hard time!! She started to bark at me, specifying that the gentleman had made a mistake, SHE is the one who decides and the discount cannot be applied because this was a combo, and started to complain about the fact I made the reservation without presenting myself (???) and complained that when she tried to call me back an hour ago I didn't pick up the phone (I was walking to the spa!, and they have my phone number on file). She was really aggressive; very condescending telling me to look at website specifically, bla-bla-bla and why did "I hang up on her"?? I told her that it was fine, I would only do the manicure. But she said it was too late blablabla (I had made the reservation litterally 10 min before while walking there, how could that be too late? I know there was not a single customer there although it was a Friday afternoon, no surprise, so they wanted my attendance!!). In any case I ended up getting the combo, she insisted that I pay more for tip, like if I had two services??!! Granted I like the service, but why pay more than 20% on the full combo price? I ended up leaving $30. She totally ruined my spa experience. I feel I am being treated unfairly because I am a MO fan and they just don't like to give us our discount. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the spa itself is beautiful. It is located right next to the pool, and is pretty small but does what it needs to do. They have separate women and men's locker rooms. This is not a coed spa, unless you make an appointment for some type of couple's massage. The locker rooms have a sauna and a steam room, and showers if needed. There is also a small room with lounge chairs to sit back and relax. The spa is available for those staying at the hotel, so make sure to take advantage of that! Definitely recommend for those that like small spas, with not many people. Loved it! read more

Some spas offer only a steam room, but they have a dry sauna as well. Another plus is that you can leave your items in the spa lockers and use the pool and jacuzzi as you please. The showers there were amazing! I had water coming at me from 5 different places! Lol. 3 shooters from the wall, the rain shower, and the shower handle. There were options of station options, lights, and water temperature. Before you leave, be sure to ask for their black plastic bag for your wet bathing suit (the paper one breaks). Yes, I am a spa snob and anytime we travel we visit the resort spa and every year we visit a different local Miami spa. This spa fell short to me in terms of what they charge when compared to the amenities offered and actual quality of the massage. This spa needs to be renovated to include water features and pre-spa relaxation activities you find standard now at any newer luxury spa. Visit any new hotel in Mexico (many of which are half the price of this one) and their spas are ten times nicer and offer so many water rituals prior to your treatment that you can enjoy on your own. Mandarin Oriental only has a sauna and steam room which is very basic when they are charging top dollar for a massage. While everything was clean, locker room/ getting ready area was small and hot. Actual massage was just okay, not terrible but not great either. My husband did not enjoy his massage. He said the technique they used was odd because the masseuse used her elbows for most of massage which did not feel good. If you're looking for a great spa I would check out Carrilion on the beach. Their spa amenities can't be beat and they are coed so you can enjoy them with your spouse. read more

Such an amazing feeling from the minute you walk in!! Ellie remembered us from last time and made us feel right at home. Always so quick and helpful, since we tend to walk in right at the appointment time. The incense walks you Into the lockers and relax you instantly. Angela is absolutely amazing!! Her voice is so calming and sweet. We headed to the second floor to a private suite where she made me right at home. Not to brag but I definitely had the best view of all of the suites. She accommodated the bed and room perfectly. I had a custom 80 min massage and had the best scalp massage and hair treatment done. I highly highly recommend the hair treatment!!! And take one home with you too!! I rinsed it out after the massage and didn't have to style my hair at all!! The best I ever!! Make sure you don't skip over the steam room or showers!!! I went to for relaxation package yesterday and as a physician I feel like I needed it for myself. I had an amazing experience with my massage therapist who also did my facial. Everyone was amazing providing me with what I needed. The end of my visit is why I'm taking away stars. I finished off with a pedi and then mani. They work on serious time constrictions and usually do not let it show and everything flows. I will leave the name out of the lady whom I'll be referring to. She had rushed through my manicure and finished off when I saw a lump of clear coat on top so I asked her if that would go down. She tries to fix it which then creates a very thick nail and she worried it wouldn't dry but I sat in the relaxation area to allow drying. I waited a large amount of time and went to change. Sure enough the nail refused to dry and messed up. I stopped someone to ask if I could have the one nail retouched. They then told me I'd have to wait 2 hours because it was completely booked. I came home and the nail completely came off. For spending half a grand on a spa day I was livid to have had a wonderful day and then ruin my nails ( which people stare at daily). Now I'm two days out and there are already chips and color coming off. I will def come back for a massage but never a mani/pedi. Ever. read more

I have chronic back pain due to several issues I won't be getting into, so when my husband schedules these massages for me on special occasions, he knows he's giving me exactly what I want and NEED. With that being said, although my favorite spa for a complete spa day continues to be the Biltmore (there's just something about it that is special), the Mandarin Spa, BY FAR, has the best therapist I have ever experienced! Her name is Liz. She has been a massage therapist for over 20 years and you can tell she KNOWS what she's doing. After having a conversation with you about your medical history, she has you choose what oils you want to be used on you, as well as the parts of your body you want her to focus on, and the amount of pressure you want. Then, she goes to town! So many other therapists just do pressure points without actually warming up the muscle enough first. Liz does the complete opposite. My massage was 55 minutes and I could have been there for 55 more. Her massage was extremely effective and I felt relief the entire day. The facility is definitely a wonderful place. The hotel ambiance is as serene as you get, with beautiful, clean, minimalistic design, where all the senses are taken into account. From the beautiful views, the peaceful sounds of water falling, and incredible aromas, you feel like you're in heaven from the moment you walk in. However, what made this spa the BEST in my opinion was what I actually came for, which was the BEST MASSAGE OF MY LIFE! It is expensive, but completely worth every penny! Five Star Decadent Pampering. I'm a lucky gal. On more than one occassion, I've been here courtesy of generous gift certificates. This Spa is unlike any spa experience you'll have in Miami or other cities for that matter. Even the check-in process is slightly decadent and so you should heed the Spa's advice and arrive 45 minutes before your appointment. You'll be greeted with some elderberry tea and a cool towel while they whisk your shoes away and put you into "spa sandals." After putting your shoes away, the attendant returns with your locker assignment and escorts you to the gender specific locker room. In your locker you'll find a comfy robe and a bottle of water. The locker room is delightful-- a couple of vanities that are stocked with everything you could possibly need to change back to your pre-spa self: q-tips, hair products, individually wrapped combs, brushes, contact solution, contact cases, toothbrushes, toothpaste, face cleanser and toner, etc. Once you get into your robe, you stroll over to the steam, sauna and relaxation room. This room is what I think makes the experience. After you've had a turn in the steam and sauna rooms, you can chill by a waterfall, drink water or more elderberry tea and snack on some banana chips. Your therapist will come to the relaxation room to escort you to the treatment rooms. You must check out the website for the plethora of experiences you can have here. Today, I opted for a deep-tissue massage. All the treatments here are ritualistic. The therapist talks about any problem areas you may have and then lets you pick the scent for the massage oil. Then it's on to the heated massage table for the massage! Pure bliss! Come here during a weekday and you can enjoy the outdoor pool oasis for free. A $30 charge for pool use applies during the weekend. Treat yourself to lunch by the pool in between or after treatments -- you won't be disappointed. This is the place to go if you are looking to splurge on an experience that will literally melt all your troubles away (well at least temporarily). Yes this place is pricey, but with some clever hints you too can earn a gift certificate from friends, family or co-workers (hint: group gift). The Spa also offers a Pilates studio, Yoga classes, Tai Chi, belly dancing and personal training. Also, there is a fully-equipped fitness center with state-of-the-art cardiovascular equipment. And if you want to chill like Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer, well you can check out the outdoor massages for singles and couples performed in private cabanas at Oasis Beach Club.
