He then got someone to help me. The staff was very helpful. He found exactly what I needed. On top, he said if it doesn't fit, I am free to return it. Luckily everything worked out well. I was happy. The location was great and convenient. This is a neighborhood store. Most of the customers here are locals or living in the hood.

Do yourself a favor and never step foot in this place…read more Let me start with the most infuriating part. They have a policy of making customers leave their bags at the entrance -- except they don't apply it equally. I stood there and watched several people walk in completely unchallenged. I was the one stopped. Given that I'm Indigenous, it's not hard to figure out why I was singled out while others weren't. That's profiling, and it's completely unacceptable. The shopping experience itself isn't much better. Almost every single item in the store is behind a locked case. We're talking about cheap, everyday electronics -- nothing remotely high-end -- yet you'd swear you were in a jewelry store. You have to track down an employee, which takes forever, just to have them unlock a case for something worth twenty dollars. The whole time they're watching you like you're about to make a run for it. And heaven forbid something you purchase stops working. Their return policy is essentially a flat-out refusal. Defective product, proof of purchase, doesn't matter -- they will turn you away at the door. The prices on top of all this make zero sense for the quality you're getting. Absolute waste of time. Shop elsewhere.

Coe Lumber & Building Supply - The original horizontal shelf was causing my friend to occasionally hit her head against it whenever she stood in front of her oven.

My friend and I just needed some melamine for a quick kitchen shelving project and between us we managed to figure out a way of getting all the pieces required out of a single board. Mike quickly set about measuring and cutting. We couldn't have done it without his kind, helpful, encouraging attitude and approach to even this simple little endeavour. It appears no project is too big or too Small ! Thanks again, Mike. ;)

This was actually the first hardware store where I encountered this as all the chains, even smaller ones, let you browse. They definitely take the pandemic seriously as on top of the no browsing, they have a very fancy system with a light signal telling you when you can come inside where staff will ask you what you want ring you up and then have someone bring your purchase out to your car. It's a pretty effixient efficient system. They also carry sand topping mix, which is sold out pretty much everywhere else in Vancouver. Prices are competitive, not cheap but not expensive. As an independent business, they have a convenient location in kitsilano that is a good alternative to big box stores. The parking lot is small, but does the job.
