Sorry for the length of this review, but I feel it's very important that others should know about this business' practices. Based on my experience with Dr. Josh Caya at Life Chiropractic West, I decided to follow him where ever he went. After a very short period there, Dr. Josh decided to open his own practice in Saint Croix. Resigning to the new found revelation and not wanting to start all over again, I decided to give the rest of the team a shot. Not a newbie to adjustments and after receiving adjustments by several doctors for a 7 years, I'm very familiar with the different techniques and how you should receive a proper adjustment. A proper adjustment is done by allowing the person to breathe deeply and then exhale. The adjusting happens upon the exhale. This transition doesn't occur when Dr. Jones does an adjustment. His need to rush thru his clients, causes him to force the adjustment. There have been several occasions where I've left after being adjusted by a couple of those doctors besides Dr. Jones and I'm not "cleared." One time, I called immediately back and told them I wasn't cleared and had to come back the following day. Same goes with my most recent and the previous ones I had before with Dr. Jones. While driving home, 20 mins away. I could feel my neck hadn't been cleared. Not wanting to "have" to go back as I shouldn't have too. I've overlooked it; thus causing me to contemplate on continuing with them or not. But after last night's discovery, has only solidified those thoughts. I'll explain, my 20yo daughter who is attending nursing school, and a previous client there, went in for an adjustment in the month of November. Dr. Jones says, "It's been sometime...so let's do an initial exam." Being that she's young and "awkward" his words spoken to me - highly unprofessional. Which btw, he also convinced her to sign a contract as well. The following day, I asked her how things went, she dismissed me, a huge red flag for me. As Dr. Jones tried doing the same thing to me once Dr. Josh left. I was on a maintenance schedule which means a person only needs to be seen 1 or maybe twice a month. Shortly thereafter, came "re-eval" time. Dr. Jones was trying to sell me on the contractual idea of coming in once a week at $60 a pop. Not that I needed to do that, but he thought....it was a "good idea". Go figure, do the math that's $240 a month - I think NOT. Getting back to my daughter, I checked her bank statement and I saw The Source pulled $240 for her initial exam and then another $140 the following month. In questioning her why she had to pay so much, she said "Dr. Jones had told her she "needed" 2 adjustments a week for a total of 8 adjustments a month." Mind you 8 exams a month for $140 a month is an excellent deal. But it's only a good deal, if you've been in a car wreck, or have experienced trauma. Neither of which has she experienced. Why the $240 initial examination? He spent 45 mins with her, didn't give her x-rays and prescribed 8 treatments a month!?! That initial exam should have cost $125 tops! You tell me, there can be no valid reasons for these unscrupulous business practices other than to milk inexperienced/uneducated people of their money. I was going to simply send an email with my grievances but my daughter made me swear not to. So I have no other recourse but to tell others to BEWARE. Be aware of The Sources predatory business practices and others business' who do the same thing. Chiropractic care is a business like all other business'. It's about the bottom line. read more
