Instead of checking my insurance immediately, the front-desk staff had me complete approximately 15 pages of new-patient paperwork. After I finished everything and waited another 15 minutes, I was finally told that the clinic was not in network with my insurance. This was incredibly frustrating and upsetting because insurance coverage was the very first question I asked before coming in. My sick toddler and I lost valuable time when he needed to be seen as quickly as possible. It would have taken only a few minutes to verify the insurance before requiring me to complete extensive paperwork. Perhaps the doctor provides excellent care, but the staff needs better training on how to handle urgent situations involving young, sick children. There was no sense of urgency, compassion, or respect for our time. Based on this experience, I would not recommend bringing your child here as a new patient without independently confirming your insurance coverage first.
