I ordered online tonight and when I arrived in about 5 min. I walked in to find staff bagging up my three Gringos ready to go!

Food was decent though I don't know if I'd say $40 for 4 tacos is worth it. Service was very underwhelming. We placed a takeout order, in store at the register, at 12:32pm and didn't get our food until 1:23pm. We were told "I have 3 "instore" orders to do ahead of you" while they preceded to give food to people who ordered after us. I would recommend avoiding this place for the most part. read more

Torchys Taco- like shop, but lacking some key ingredients. The queso is not good, period. The base cheese lacked a smoothness and the spicy pepper flavor of the jack cheese didn't show. I couldn't finish it. The chips are fresh but the queso needs improvement. For tacos. The bird was good but maybe a tad too much on the blue cheese. The Hot Chick was the favorite of the bunch, loved the hot honey combined with a good piece of fried chicken, would order that again. The smoked taco was so good. The food was plentiful and I enjoyed the variety and all of the flavors. I had the fleeing Californian, The bird, and chips and queso. The tacos are a good size, full of toppings and filling. I especially enjoyed the Californian. The steak was tender and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. I have wanted to try this place for a while now. I will start by saying we went for an early lunch. We ordered 5 different tacos to try. Three tacos included guacamole, which was a small scoop, and it was still partially frozen. The server stated they freeze it the night before, so it is fresh, but it made the taco cold. The shrimp taco has miniature shrimp, not enough to get one in every bite, and it was completely overwhelmed with all the sauces. The Coconut Shrimp taco has no coconut flavor, but again is overwhelmed with the mango pineapple salsa. The tortillas are overcooked and hard to bite into, and they don't need two tortillas as it is too much with the amount of meat and salsa in the taco. We removed one of the shells from each taco. The sauces and flavors are good, but the balance of the ingredients is way off! The queso and chips were good. The queso was hot and creamy, and the chips were fresh. I had high hopes for this place based on the name, but it didn't live up to the expectations. read more

This place is decent. As far as tacos with a twist go, it's alright. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but when I'm in Bountiful, Utah, and craving a taco, I'll pop in. Food is amazing and unexpected. When I heard the word "taco" I made some assumptions but each taco' is a delightful experience that I never expected. Hands down the best Taco's I've ever eaten. These are the most "Tex-mex" tacos I've had so far in Utah. I'm impressed. I had the Gringo and the Fleeing Californian. Both were delicious, but the brisket on the Gringo still haunts me. I always have that issue of "they say it's brisket...it looks a little like brisket, but can I taste the brisket? Can I taste the goodness of the brisket...?" Well yes - you really can here! If you're hungry, you will need 2 tacos because they aren't huge, even though they are larger than street tacos. But if you're really hungry or have a big appetite, 2+ will be necessary. read more

I haven't been into this location but have had it delivered many times and I am so impressed by the variety and quality of their tacos. The taco salad was also good, but nothing beats their tacos and I find myself craving them! Hope to see more locations north in the near future. read more

I daydream about Smoked Taco more than I care to admit. I'm not a big fan of Mexican, but add a BBQ slant to it, and I'm sold! Every taco I've tried has been delicious! I was excited to try the Southern Waffle (Jan '25 special), and it was indeed incredibly yummy! The Memphis and the Bang Bang are my favorites so far. Quick and friendly service. When I went the soda fountains were out and they had limited bottled options. The food was ok. Definitely a unique take on the street taco. My personal preference is less on the taco is more. The smoked taco uses sauces and toppings to flavor the taco and the meats are secondary. More like a tostada than a taco. Chips and queso were good. Some of the chips were undercooked but the queso had a good flavor. Unlimited chips though, so that was a plus. read more

I hate writing negative reviews, but I have to here. The food isn't good. Like not even slightly. I think Taco Bell may be a leg up. To be fair, I come from a decade living in the Phoenix area, so I'm accustomed to superb Mexican food and excellent street tacos on the reg. This was neither. My family and I had the Bang Bang, Bird, Double Tap, Gringo, Fleeing Californian, Smoked Corn Elote, and Quesadilla Kids Meal. There was little meat to be found among the ample sauce. The sauces were not inspiring in any way and the tortillas themselves were not good. The menu descriptions way oversold the incredibly mediocre (and that's being generous) food served here. I ate some of my meat and threw the rest away...sadly. The elote was the worst part. The corn was dried out and bland and the serving was covered with heaps of tasteless deep fried onion crisps, which were also scattered on top of the tacos. The service was very pleasant, so I gave two stars for that. Best avoid this establishment if you're looking for decent street tacos. None can be found here. read more

The Smoked Taco is a new restaurant in Bountiful that I was excited to try! The restaurant is spacious, clean and comfortable. They have a great selection of tacos and some other fun side options. We ordered the bahn fire taco, the bird, the gringo and the hot chick. The Bahn Fire was 100% my favorite I would definitely recommend! I was especially impressed with the corn tortillas. First off, we walked in and it smelled amazing! Always a good sign, and it was clean. We get to the counter and the guy helping us was so nice and told us all about the menu so we were able to make an informed choice. My friend doesn't like spice, he took off stuff and gave her ideas to replace them with. I love spice and ordered the Gringo, as is. I can't tell you how good it was. The brisket, perfection, the crunch and cheese and fixings were amazing. I'm literally trying to talk myself out of going back for dinner because it was so good! We will be back! read more

Not bad but far from great. The concept is awesome, the execution, not so much. The tortillas are good, the toppings are on point, but the meat just isn't great any there is too much sauce on them. The meat was lukewarm and tasted like prepackaged smoked meat, if the meat tasted like fresh bbq and the sauce wasn't drenching the taco, this place would have a line around the block.
