I went to this shop hoping to buy some nice cigars to enjoy over the long weekend. I pulled it up on yelp and thought it sounded like just what I needed. I drove over there, and after getting a bit turned around in the Public Market, found it was only a convenience store with about 10 cigar options.
Don't get me wrong, this was better than you can expect many other cigarette shops, but tobacco is not their main business; magazine sales, chewing gum, keychains and e-cigarettes are.
Additionally, the cigars were not competitively priced, as I guessed when entering the Granville Island Public Market. The cheapest cigars were $13, and up to about $35.
Feeling let down, I drove to the one I should have gone to in the first place, the Cigar Emporium on 4th/6th. This place had a huge selection, exceptionally knowledgable staff, and a lounging area where you can enjoy your cigar, the complete opposite to what I found on Granville Island. read more
