We stopped into the Smile Factory with our two daughters, 12 and 14. We enjoyed our time at this arcade! Classic games like Skee Ball never go out of style, and they also have a nice range of other games (some give out tickets and some don't). We played air hockey (cost 4 tokens) -- they have a nice table with good airflow (the air hockey tables at many arcades suck because of poor airflow). In contrast to another post, my daughters actually prefer the paper tickets to the modern cards that keep track of tickets you've won. The paper tickets are tangible and more fun, especially when you get to feed them into the counting machines. If you have some time to kill or need a break from the sun, the Smile Factory is a worthwhile stop. read more

A true step back in time. The good part about this place is that the staff is friendly and welcoming. Everything else though... could use an update. Here's the summary: - Most of the games do not work - The inside is not clean - The inside is dingy and the ceiling looks like it's falling apart - They have the 1990's Chuck E Cheese style ticket system so you have to carry around hundreds of tickets with you while playing the games - It smells like mothballs Overall, this place is very outdated but could be fun for an hour on a rainy day. read more

Went to the arcade and the kids had fun but they only give you 3 tokens per dollar. They don't even give you a deal if you spend more money on tokens. $10 for 30. That's still just 3 tokens per dollar. Also, they want 200-300 tickets for really small prizes and most of their games don't give out tickets. We have come here several times over the past 10 years. Nothing changes. If something breaks, it stays broken. It is dark and dingy inside. One could assume the expenses outweighs any profit so using anything to reinvest into this business is off the table. This is the only "gaming" place in town and if some $ was invested, it could be a really cool place for kids of all ages. read more

The Smile Factory was a fun place for my 3-year-old kid to hang out when it was too hot and we were beached out or looking for something to mix it up. While the amount of tickets you need to get something cool (like a TV, camera, etc.) is virtually impossible, they have some great games for all ages, including the claw, whack-a-mole, skeeball, and other arcade/boardwalk favorites. It's clean and the staff is very nice. In fact, as they reloaded some machines with candy prizes, they offered some to my daughter as a treat. A handful of games are "winner every time" for toys like rubber ducks and large generic bouncing balls and footballs. It's definitely a fun place for kids to hang out, chill out in the air conditioning and burn some energy. I was so thankful we discovered it on our trip because it was quite literally one of my daughter's favorite moments of vacation. read more

I'm a sucker for arcades, especially arcades with skee-ball. The Smile Factory is small and has some broken / outdated machines, but it never fails to entertain my fiancé and I for an hour with ten dollars worth of tokens split between the two of us. The staff is always friendly, and if a machine eats your tokens they happily replace them (sometimes they will even throw in a few extra tokens for your troubles). If you're short a few tickets at the prize counter, they still offer that item you had your eyes on without hesitation. Overall, I think this is a nice, family-friendly place to take your children if you have them. And even if you don't, it's worth a visit if you're bored on a rainy day. read more
