    Cheesesteak
    Susan P.

The name can be deceiving, especially since they serve some ooey gooey pizza, but this is a golf course restaurant and a surprisingly good one. After a day of kayak racing and a boat parade with family medaling in both, a celebratory luncheon was in order and with the prize package including a gift certificate for The Slice, it was a no brainer. Our party of ten had a variety of foods from pizzas to wings to cheesesteaks. The table went silent, always a good sign, when the food arrived. My cheesesteak was customized to include mushrooms and onions and the meat was well cooked and the bread the perfect soft texture. The wings were good and crisp, with the right toothiness. Our party had sauces ranging from hot to medium to sweet and sassy. The sweet and sassy sauce was akin to bbq sauce and the hot was more medium to our asbestos boy. The big surprise was the onion rings. Breaded not battered, these were the best rings of our trip so far. I typically prefer battered but the flavor and crunch made me a convert.

A great stop in Island Falls. Delicious food, cooked to perfection as well as great service.

The only restaurant open after 8pm in Millinocket. We had come back from dusk at Baxter State Park…read moreand found it thanks to Yelp. A Thursday night a little after 8 and two of us went in for dinner. A wide variety on the menu. We chose the turkey club and the Cobb salad. Processed cheese on the salad was a disappointment. That said the salad size was huge and ranch dressing was plentiful. The turkey club was a great choice! Service was very attentive. We had only water to drink and she continued to fill up the glasses throughout the meal. Unfortunately the heat pump dripped water down onto the seat in the booth. If I was in millinocket, I would go there again! Prices were more than reasonable.

Stars are for the service. Our server was fantastic. We both got the scallops and my husband got a…read moreseafood platter. Quality and quantity was mediocre and it was egregiously expensive for scallops that were less than quarter size and over cooked. Clam chowder was the star. What seemed disingenuous was that iced tea did not have free refills and there was no mention of that by the server or on the menu. Just never been our experience in a lifetime of dining out across the entire country. I say this only because it seemed to lack principle in a current economic climate where people are more vigilant about how they spend their money and consider how they are treated as a patron, it just felt as though if they were getting over on you with the refills, what corners were being cut on the food. With so many restaurant owners struggling, I choose to continue to support those who treat me fairly.

First night- cheeseburger with fries delicious tasted freshly made. Chocolate peanut butter cheesecake - yum! Second night - loaded potato cheese dip Third night - maritime fish and chips All meals were really good! Will definitely be dining here whenever I'm back for work.

We popped into Canada for a quick day trip and asked one of the locals at an information center…read morewhere should we eat? She recommended exit 153. Honestly, it was a fantastic choice. Once we pulled in and parked, we walked in, waited for about a minute or two and were seated in a comfortable seat and booth option. Our waitress was so friendly. I kind of giggled when she called us Americans. I've never heard myself described as that before lol but it was really nice talking to her and hearing about things and learning about the area we were near. The food was really good. The chicken salad was super moist and had a great savory taste. They had chicken noodle soup as the soup of the day. The chicken noodle soup was fantastic. I love the long noodles they used and the thick pieces of carrot. A lot of of the chicken used was white meat. I opted for the butter chicken bowl. The chicken was perfectly grilled with great flavor over a bit of rice with the butter sauce. The non-bread was heated nicely and the few cherry tomatoes really added to the dish. I squashed the cherry tomatoes with my fork which added a nice element to the dish. My husband said his chicken sandwich was the perfect crisp and he really enjoyed the exit 153 salad. Overall, our entire experience at exit 153 was fantastic . It is definitely going on our radar again if we happen to be in the area. Sidenote, extra bonus points for having an AED and an EpiPen available if ever needed . Normally, you only see AEDs in the states I've never seen an EpiPen.
