    Cheesesteak
    Susan P.

The name can be deceiving, especially since they serve some ooey gooey pizza, but this is a golf course restaurant and a surprisingly good one. After a day of kayak racing and a boat parade with family medaling in both, a celebratory luncheon was in order and with the prize package including a gift certificate for The Slice, it was a no brainer. Our party of ten had a variety of foods from pizzas to wings to cheesesteaks. The table went silent, always a good sign, when the food arrived. My cheesesteak was customized to include mushrooms and onions and the meat was well cooked and the bread the perfect soft texture. The wings were good and crisp, with the right toothiness. Our party had sauces ranging from hot to medium to sweet and sassy. The sweet and sassy sauce was akin to bbq sauce and the hot was more medium to our asbestos boy. The big surprise was the onion rings. Breaded not battered, these were the best rings of our trip so far. I typically prefer battered but the flavor and crunch made me a convert.

A great stop in Island Falls. Delicious food, cooked to perfection as well as great service.

Not fancy but very clean. Food is excellent with a varied menu of meals and sandwiches. Friendly service.

Specials include appetizers, soups, salad and entrees so keep your ears open. We started with appetizers including crab Rangoon (what?), calamari, oysters Rockefeller, celery soup and peel your own shrimp. The crab Rangoon rocked with a creamy cheese infused with crab wrapped tightly by a wonton and fried. Calamari was plentiful, deep fried and battered with just the right chew. Oysters were succulent and the celery soup was interesting. Entrees at our table ranged from fried scallops to ravioli puttanesca to coffee grounds coated steaks to seafood tetrazzini. The scallops appeared a little under and lightly breaded although I would have preferred pan fried. Still they were delicious. The ravioli was a hit with an abundance of homemade ravioli. Dessert was a highlight as well with cappuccino creme brûlée!

Go waste your time and money getting there and see for yourself. It's a sad and tired old restaurant. You may also look at the review below mine. Everything is premade/frozen and then burnt in the fryer.
