After vacationing in Maine for 36 years I have never really known about this AWARD WINNING food truck until a few years ago. I happened to see it off in a distance when I would visit Houlton. I always wondered about them. Welp, I now have my answers! I along with my family were in Houlton doing some shopping. We were at a local gift store and started talking to the sales clerk at the gift store. She provided us with a lot of advice and places to check out. One of those locations was The Bus Food truck. So we headed right there. Once we arrived we sifted through the extensive menu while waiting in line. There were so many opens from the simple burger, to a boujee burger, chicken burger, and steak sandwiches. They also had many sides to choose from... a few different versions of fries, onions rigs ect. Our food was delicious! My burger had wonderful taste, cheese melting down the bottom bun, fresh lettuce poking out and a nicely seasoned beef patty. The fries were great. Only issue was the portion size for a large did not match up with what we received. It was more like a regular/small. Service it was wonderful. They work like a well oiled machine! They were also so polite. There are picnic tables available as well to enjoy your food. It truly a great set up, especially if the weather is wonderful.

I just ate the best sausage grinder I have ever had! The service was friendly and fast. I can't wait to try their pepperoni grinder!

Fifteen minutes passed--maybe more--before anyone even bothered to acknowledge me or take my order. That was at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 6th. When the waitress finally approached, I made myself clear. I told her exactly what I wanted and precisely how I wanted my eggs cooked. I sat patiently, thinking maybe things would turn around. But no--over an hour later, when my food finally arrived, it was all wrong. My eggs were not cooked the way I requested. They were hard, lifeless, slapped on the plate as if my request had never mattered. As if I didn't matter. I asked for strawberry syrup--truth be told, it was the only reason I even came there. I love my pancakes with strawberry syrup. That request, too, was ignored. It felt intentional, like they didn't care whether I enjoyed my meal or not. Like I was supposed to just take whatever they gave me, stay quiet, and be grateful. And in that moment, I could feel it. That heavy, suffocating weight of being dismissed, disrespected, and treated as less than. I told myself to walk out right then and there. But I didn't. I stayed. I ate my bacon, sausage, and half a piece of ham, whispering to God, asking Him to give me strength not to let this break me. And still--despite the anger boiling inside me--I smiled, left my tip, and walked out the door with my dignity. A 20% tip, no less. Because I refuse to let their ignorance drag me down to their level. But let me be clear: I will never step foot in that establishment again for as long as I live. Because you know when you're being singled out. You know when you're being mocked, shoved aside, and pushed into silence because of the color of your skin. And what cuts deeper is that the people sitting around me saw it too. They noticed. They knew exactly what was happening. And still, White America turns its head, because it has never changed, and deep down, I fear it never will. So to anyone reading this, take this warning seriously: if you are Black, you are not welcome there. And that is the bitter, ugly truth. And you only get a star that was the only way I can post my message

Waitstaff are very knowledgeable about the menu it's a cozy place vibe. We had pretzel bits they were good but the big pretzel is better. Cheese curds are good. We had the garlic cheese bread very good but we loved the garlic cheese bread sticks even more. I had a chef salad it was good lettuce not wilted dressing was tasty. My son likes the broccoli Alfredo it even reheated nicely. The Ruben was good but I asked for extra sauerkraut they wish I could've gotten more. The bread was good toasted and had good flavor. We took home the berry spare dessert it was very good. The water wasn't bad. Typical soda selections. We been a couple of times and probably will go back. Maybe next time in a Wednesday for trivia night.

By the time we were served our food, many people had come and gone, and the lunch rush had long since been over. When asked about the delay, the waitress stated, that because pizza were "faster to make because they have a new pizza oven. Therefore pizzas were the priority." Apparently, since they could not even manage to make a well done burger.
