Staying in the North Woods for a month, Patten is the closest town 12 miles away so there's an understandable need to adjust one's expectations to the realistic .... but let me tell you, that is not necessary when it comes to Debbie's PIZZA!!!!!! Coming from the Philadelphia area where Italian cooking is the dominant food culture for time immemorial ... I've had some pretty damn good pizza .... and Debbie could go right to bat with them. If you prefer thin crust, this is not your jam, but if you like to saver thicker, crispy chewy high-gluten goodness , make this your pit stop in the wilderness. Some creative choices specialty pizzas besides your standards, sizes all the way up to a monstrous 28" and incredibly reasonable prices on everything on the menu. If you're anywhere near Patten, Maine, either passing through, or perhaps visiting the popular Lumbermens Museum, Debbie's Deli is a fantastic stop for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! We tried their poutine that offers three different choices of french fries and two choices of gravy. Shredded cheese replaces cheese curds, but the dish is still really tasty! In fact, the menu is quite extensive, and great care has been put into the creativity and variety of the dishes! The pizza comes in four different sizes, from personal-sized to large. The crust is light and soft, the sauce is quite good, and the toppings are satisfying. The assortment of sweets is tremendous, from fresh pies to homemade cookies. So it was tough to settle on just one of them. But I'd say the lemon meringue pie was a great choice! For a town of less than 1,000 people, Debbie's is seriously overachieving! read more

The food was fine. Nothing fancy. Server was polite. My daughter's pastrami sandwich was on a hotdog roll with no much roast beef. If I was in town I'd eat there again but don't get your hopes up too high. read more

My dad, boyfriend and I were visiting from out of state and had just finished a 10 hour hike that we were not well prepared for. Tired, sweaty, smelly and absolutely exhausted and starving, we walked in at 7:20 knowing the place closed at 8 hoping to get what we could and maybe eat in the car but we walked in and were greeted with a smile and told to make ourselves comfortable wherever. We each grabbed a bottle of Coke to bring our sugar levels back up and our server grabbed us three waters. She was so so lovely, the food was great, service was fast, and she let us stay past when the shop was closed. What could've been an annoying burden to a shop owner was probably the best moment of our day for the three of us getting to rest our legs, drink some water, and eat some food. There was not much open in Patten, so Debbie's was our dinner destination! There is something to be said about a small town dining establishment: in a town this small, you can probably guarantee that just about everything is made from scratch. Just look at that home made roll and biscuit! Great rise on both, though to quote Alan Jackson, "they ain't like Mama made it." I had the double pork chop dinner with mashed potatoes and a side salad, and they were palatable- but I wasn't asking for seconds. My husband had the chicken tenders and I was quite envious. They looked very good! We grabbed a couple homemade desserts when we checked out. The whoppie pie was fine, the scotcharoo was great, and the peanut butter cookie didn't taste much like peanut butter. I HATE to complain about service right now, but they were not busy- and our waitress did a good job about checking on us, but she must have been having a bad day. I could not make that girl crack a smile! I think if you order right at Debbie's you can have a good meal. We were driving back from Fort Kent and stopped here for lunch. I had a cheese burger, cheese burger with chips and pickle. My GF had the meatball sub. Both, very, very good. The service from the young lady, she was very, very friendly. It's a nice atmosphere inside. The bathroom was clean. The other thangs on the menu, they seemed pretty good too. After walking to the grocery store in another town after 7 pm and finding out they close at 6 I started looking for somewhere to get dinner. Not much is open in the area past 7, let alone Mondays & Tuesdays. Called to confirm they are open and upon finding out they close at 8, jumped in the car and drove over. Ordered the haddock with mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuit and slaw togo. Everything was good, generous portions, plenty of tartar sauce, homemade biscuit was perfect, solid dinner. Simple little food joint in the middle of nowhere. Came here for bite to eat while visiting relatives who live way up here off the beaten path in Maine. My hubby's Dad who lives in the area said go with specials so that's what we did. We all got the Cheeseburger Platter witch came with fries, onion rings and a side of cole slaw. We were give the choice of fresh or frozen fries, of course we went with the fresh. The Cole slaw was really good the fresh fries were quite good also they had the skin on which I like. We ordered the chicken tenders for the little one and she lived them. They tasted like they were freshly made and had a light crumb coating on the oytside. The waitress was very friendly and service was quick. We also had the grape nut pudding which was a little sweeter than the ones I have had at other places but my daughter and husband loved it. My hubby also got the date bar the piece was huge and delicious we had to take it to go. All in all I think the meal was a great value 5 people for a little over $60 dollars and we left stuffed and with leftovers. read more

We stopped for dinner here when passing thru town. Server was friendly. Food was plentiful. I had the clam tenderloins which were actually excellent. You could tell they were fresh. This place is awesome! The service is prompt and courteous and the food is to die for! Try the all you can eat spaghetti and meatballs on Wednesdays but its not really all you can eat because the likelihood that you will even finish the first plate is slim! The food is just okay. The service isn't great when it is busy and if you aren't a local then you will get worse service. They are usually under- staffed. We waited at least an hour to get breakfast on a Sunday morning and locals who arrived after us were waited on and served before us. read more

We are from out of town and stopped here to eat because there are two places in Patten. Deb's or the crab shack. Debs was rated higher on yelp. I'm not sure why it has four stars. Debbie is super nice but the food was awful. I got the cheeseburger and my daughter got the chicken strips. The cheeseburger came with chips. Very simple presentation. The burger was small and tasteless. I got all the fixings (mayo, mustard, onions, ketchup), but that didn't seem to make it any better. My daughter said her chicken was ok but the fries were so dried out they were actually sort of hollow on the inside. I wish I hadn't wasted my money here. read more

Okay my husband were out looking at the fall foliage and going for a hike, we were pretty much in the middle of no where in Maine. Debbie's was the only thing we could find in the area. It's a cafe in a gas station. I got the special which was fried clam strips they were some of the best I had ever had, loved the batter. My husband got the pork chops which were on the menu, he was thrilled but I had enough clams for both of us. The mashed potatoes were great. The desserts looked marvelous which I had room to try one.
